Wildax Motorhomes Arvostelua 

We’ve had our new Europa XL two months now, and while we like the van, sorting out problems has been an almost full-time job. In 8 weeks it’s been back to the factory for the washroom door to be re-fitted (before we'd even used the van), and to our local dealer five times with electrical faults. We had to return early from our first outing because all the habitation electrics failed. Once that problem was fixed I realised that the solar panel wasn't charging the battery, just a week before a planned 10 day trip off-grid. When contacted today Wildax MD Duncan Wildman insists that the van was fine when it left the factory, (having previously admitted that the washroom door had been fitted incorrectly, (by “an employee who is no longer with us,” I was told,) and that the electrical system problems are due to the Truma control system being updated. Wildman insists that "All the vans pass a detailed electrical test after production", so how could they not notice that our battery wasn't charging, and the solar panel wasn't charging either? Wildax supplied a van with critical systems that didn't work, but insist that’s not their responsibility. Whose is it?
To be fair, our local dealers, ES Hartley, have been excellent, but thank god they’re just down the road.
Here's hoping everything works from now on, but our faith in Wildax has been sorely tested!

After sales:
I needed to replace a window in my 2015 Solaris (as it had a knock and been cracked). Then I decided to change the second window to match the first one I needed. They were extremely helpful when I visited them. Unfortunately on unpacking the second window I realised that it had no seal attached. Contacted Wildax, no problem, one put in the post immediately. I then managed to break one of the window stays putting one of the new windows in.
I contacted Wildax again. A new stay was put in the post straight away for free.

My wife and I have owned our Aurora for 6 months. It is clear to us that a lot of expensive components go into the Motorhome. We wanted the flexibility to be able to park up independently so bought the volt pack option. We find the induction hob is quite satisfactory, is in someways nicer to use than our one at home. The lithium batteries perform well. We use an air fryer also which stores nicely in the bottom of the wardrobe when not in use and sits on the pull out shelf during operation.

The joinery inside is nicely finished, seems robust but lightweight. No plastic panels but well constructed plywood with good quality veneer. Things are accessible for inspection and maintenance.

We find that with our usage when not hooked up to mains electricity the electrical capacity is consistent with the water tank size. This means we need to move on every 2-3 days to find water and charge the batteries via the B to B. Probably during the summer months the solar panels would do even better to top the batteries up.

Having just returned from a month long trip to France, Switzerland, Austria and Italy we can see how the years of evolution have created a van that is practical and just works incredibly well as a home considering it is 13 sq metres in size. We had the interior trimmed to our choice which is a nice option.

Purchased a Wildax ELARA in January, it is superb quality and with a professional service from ES Hartley in Ellesmere Port. We have a few niggles which were put right very quickly and efficiently, thanks. The Mercedes engine is efficient and presently achieving 39mpg. The beds are extremely comfy (better than home really) and with the ambient lighting it is so relaxing at night, even the shower works well. Thanks Wildax for a great Campervan and giving us a great retirement.

I bought a WildAx Solaris XL in 2020, I will agree that the finish is first class and anyone would be very pleased with the finish. But be aware if you get any problems because if you cannot get to a WildAx approved garage it is going to cost you. As I found out when I could not refill my LPG as I made the mistake of taking it to a non approved garage. The repair cost me over £1000, and I was told by the garage that repaired it that the problem was down to the lack of quality control during the build. On contacting WildAx on my return I was basically told tough. By the way where prior to the repair it was with great difficulty to fill the LPG it is now very easy.

To counter the previous review - the Karen who wrote it has never worked for WildAx! she is the mother of an employee who was terminated for damage to a vehicle. He received detailed training which is documented on paperwork in his personnel file!

I would not recommend this company as a place of work, they do not train their staff but quick to talk to people like crap and fire them when they get it wrong. Don't complain about certain members of staff because a few days later you will get the bullet, if your face doesn't fit.... ACAS here we come!

Having owned my new Wildax Aurora Leisure XL for a few months I can safely say that they make very good camper vans. anyone who buys what is really a complete house squeezed into such a small space & expects it to be perfect is deluded. There will always be niggles & issues to sort out, Unless your very lucky a couple of visits to the factory are to be expected.

The build quality is the best I have seen it leaves a lot of so called hi spec motorhomes eating their dust. I must mention there is a waiting list so expect 6 months or a little more but is worth it it's a bit like having an addition to the family an anxious wait with great joy when it arrives.

We have had a few niggles that have now been sorted out by The Wildax Team (Thanks everyone) and all is good to go. We are very happy with our camper (Erica) and intend to put her thru her paces on a trip to Scotland in April/May so watch this space.

Go to one of the shows & check them out you will be impressed I'm sure.

Good layout but only buy one if you know how to fix it.
Underneath the glitter, very poor build.
Fast talking salesman. He dosen't really care I think.
