Wickes - Barking Arvostelua 

I've just bought a kitchen from Wickes and am delighted with the result. I received much help and expert advice from Saf who gave me plenty of time to discuss all the details and who has quickly answered my queries during the whole process of its fitting. He also visited my house and gave excellent advice on, for instance, the location of the central heating boiler. The quality of both goods and Wickes personnel has been outstanding - what can be a complicated and daunting process proved to be pretty well trouble-free! Many thanks. Peter.

Adeel, the kitchen designer, was absolutely amazing too! He went far beyond his job description, helping me choose my kitchen and even assisting me with loading it. His dedication, kindness, and willingness to help were truly exceptional.

I paid an additional £11 for Wickes' Rapid Delivery service, expecting to receive new, undamaged laminate flooring promptly. Instead, I received what looked like bottom-of-the-barrel stock.

Upon opening and inspecting the packs, I discovered three laminate panels with broken corners, chipped edges and damaged click-locking mechanisms. These weren't minor cosmetic defects — the panels were unusable.

Unfortunately, the customer service experience that followed was even more disappointing.

I contacted the delivering store and was assured that two replacement boxes had been arranged using their Rapid Delivery service. However, I received no order confirmation or tracking information.

Two hours later, I called again to find out what was happening. To my astonishment, a different representative informed me that there was absolutely no record of the earlier conversation or any replacement order.

How can a major retailer promise a customer replacement goods, only for another employee to have no record of the arrangement whatsoever?

What should have been a straightforward project turned into an unnecessarily frustrating and time-consuming ordeal.

Eventually, I contacted Wickes' central Customer Services, where the representative was considerably more helpful. My £11 delivery charge has since been refunded, and collection of the unwanted flooring has been arranged. The remaining refund is still pending.

While I appreciate that the final representative took steps to resolve the situation, it should never have reached this point.

Rapid Delivery is completely pointless if the goods arrive damaged, and promises of replacements mean very little if nobody actually records or processes them.

This experience raises serious concerns about Wickes' product handling, quality control, internal communication and customer service.

I expected considerably better from a national DIY retailer. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

I got a lot of useful information from the no more ply guy. This included using their 20mm product to sort cold spot below windows in a bedroom!
The wickes staff were super friendly and helpful and provided freebies!!

The item (paint) I ordered was ready for collection within 5 minutes. Absolutely fantastic! Why then 3 stars? That same item took 20 minutes to collect due to lack of clear instructions and shortage of staff at Barking store who could actually help.

I ordered paint online with the Barking store. Arrived to find out its not in stock, despite the website showing its stocked. Whats the point when you get let down.

Just want to say thanks to Lesley from Barking Store again for her amazing help. Was getting depressed dealing with other Wickes staff in relation to my online delivery. Lesley saw the problem and dealt with it swiftly. It’s good to know there are still good apples around when it comes to customer service. Wickes are lucky to have her.

Having Barking Wickes so close by had been a complete lifesaver whilst I’ve been doing my renovation project. They have everything you need and are always willing to help find you things. Going in so often recently, it’s been nice to build a rapport with the staff who always friendly, particularly Rupali.
