As an 84 year old this is the best reassuringly dentist I ever experienced

Did I say 5*- oh I'm so sorry - I meant minus 5*. I made the my appointment regarding a single implant with the Prestatyn branch of West End Dental a few weeks ago .Honestly - it was one of the most eye opening and upleasant encounters Ive ever experienced.
The dentist in question - Mark Gibson - in my opinion - used out and out bullying and scare tactics on me from the start. His opening line was to inform me immediately that he was extremely concerned about the whole state of my mouth. Really????I go regularly to a very good dentist so this was news to me. Apparently the vast majority of my teeth teeth were on the verge of fracturing and falling out and he grew ever more animated as he pointed this out from the x ray he had taken!!!As for my one implant (the only thing I'd actually come about!) well that - he merrily informed would need 4 teeth out - and 2 implants put back holding a bridge of the other 2. Also that there were lots of areas of infection that would also need to be treated first (costs adding up!)Any questions from me were swiftly deflected and the atmosphere was getting quite tense as he could see I was not being shocked into submission.
Cannot even imagine what the effect would be like on someone who suffered from anxiety or who had a dental phobia - but you can get some idea from reading the very relevant 1* reviews hidden away at the bottom. They mirror my experience.
The bill for the proposed treatment was a mind boggling £10000- but not to worry they have convenient payment plans (at goodness knows what rate of interest) that they cannot wait to sign you up to when you are directed to another room.
I would never ever set foot in that practise again- especially as I now am having hopefully a single implant fitted for around £2500 somewhere else!

Dr Avon was kind, understanding and explained what she was doing through the whole procedure..I was having a root canal and restoration of my tooth to enable a crown to be fitted..I wholeheartedly recommend this dentist

West end dentist I a very professional organisation. All staff are very kind helpful and pleasant. I felt very confident with them and l am a very nervous patient. Will keep going there. The surroundings are modern clean and very pleasant. Can’t praise them enough

I have quarterly hygiene appointments with Beau at West End dental in Prestatyn, who is very thorough and gentle in her work, with a lovely friendly manner. The surgery is clean and modern with free roadside parking outside. . I also appreciate the tree planting offset each hygiene sessions the update that follows, …..Your tree is number 17408 in our forest. Our patients have helped us offset 866.71 tons of CO2 emissions.

The manner in which the staff treated me was calming and reassuring in all aspects of the treatment.

I get very stressed even thinking of the dentist, like a lot of people do, hence I haven’t been for many years. All I can say is, they were great with me, friendly and supportive, that is all behind me now and I have no issues in going back, great work.
