John is a fantastic guide and a ride in his vintage Belair is a treat. His crafts the perfect day based upon your wishes. Take a tour with him!

I could not have been happier with how things turned out for this tour, and for the other tours by locals that I took on this last trip. Having a tour guide that can really spend their time with me rather than with a crowd was a huge benefit. It allowed me to ask all the questions that I had and made the travel really comfortable and pleasant. I will definitely use them again.

Punctual. Personable. Knows the subject matter well enough to communicate it in a simple way and keep it interesting. A good person and true professional. Simply the best. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Very knowledgeable about the history of Quebec. Also a very pleasant person.

Nicoletta is an amazing guide. Warm and friendly, she is also extremely knowledgeable. She made sure we always knew how to get to the meeting point and how to get back to the hotel. We can highly recommended Nicoletta.

Excellent guide, knowledgeable and spoke very good English

Yasin, our tour guide, was the perfect choice. His knowledge, experience and engaging personality made our visits to the important Istanbul historic sites truly memorable. In a word, Yasin was fabulous.

Frederic C. created a tour that tapped into my family history about my grandfather who fought near Arras in WW1. It was a tour that encompassed fields where my grandfather's Australian battalion fought and where he was injured. It also covered the WW1 strategy in Northern France and gave me a comprehensive overview of the war and the history of the region. Frederic is an accredited historian with a highly ranked French military background so was able to deliver an outstanding tour experience. I will forever remember this.

TBL contracts with top notch guides like Romeo, based in Paris. To take an comprehensive tour with him is equivalent to being blessed by the finest art & history professor you've ever had. Kind, attentive, knowledgeable focusing on the interests of the client, all are attributes that create a world class guide. I felt so fortunate and honored to be his client and to gain so much knowledge about Paris, French art and history. The research through the Tours By Local website to find him through the booking and superior ongoing communication process was ideal. Highly recommend both the company and Romeo as a guide.

Our guide meet us at our hotel. Previously we had communicated our expectations. Our guide was knowledgeable, agreeable and kind. We had a wonderful experience and truly happy with our tour.

We have used this company to book tours in several countries. We have enjoyed all the tours. The guides have been knowledgeable and flexible.

Marie did an excellent job of showing me the island. She was very knowledgeable about the history of the island and turns out is a descendent of one of the original land owners from the 1600's. Can't get any more authentic than that. Comfortable, clean transportation and was very flexible in where we stopped. Exceeded my expectations. Thank you!

I wanted to share this wonderful feedback I received from my clients following their time with Sara T in Rome. They were truly impressed by your service and wanted me to let you know right away how much they appreciated everything she did for them.

Their words say it best:

“Dio,

We’ll elaborate more after our trip, but we wanted you to know right away how absolutely wonderful Sara was in Rome. She was truly beyond exceptional.

Sara is not only incredibly knowledgeable and gifted at what she does, but she is also warm, friendly, attentive, and genuinely made us feel so well taken care of throughout our time with her. She always seemed to know exactly what we needed and consistently guided us in the right direction.

We sincerely hope she receives many referrals from you because she is an absolute gem and a tremendous asset. We would give her five stars without hesitation, and if there were ten stars, we would gladly give her all ten!

We are so grateful for the wonderful experience she provided and look forward to sharing more after our trip.

Thank you,

Debra & the Gang”

We are so grateful to Leti for preparing and guiding us around the streets and points of interest within the historical city of Cadiz. Communication ahead of our arrival in Cadiz was easy and Leti made sure to plan a route that would meet our needs. Some last minute adjustments were necessary due to traffic and pedestrian disruption, but Leti kept us informed in the days before the tour, and the 4-hour tour was brilliant. Leti’s knowledge of Cadiz from its Phoenician roots to present day, and her communication skills (fluent English for us) made this such an engaging and interesting tour. Stopping for refreshments and comfort were easily arranged and the time passed by too quickly. We have no hesitation in recommending Leti as your Cadiz tour guide.

We were incredibly fortunate to connect with Agatha. Before our trip to Krakow, she worked extensively with our family to help us achieve our primary goal: finding the town where my grandparents were from. After I shared all the information I had, Agatha successfully located the town and arranged a two-hour trip there, including a meeting with the local priest to walk through the cemetery. She was just as excited as we were when we found the gravestones of possible relatives.

Beyond her dedicated research into our family heritage, Agatha showed us the beauty of Krakow. She introduced us to amazing Polish cuisine during a tour of the public market and the Jewish Quarter and provided excellent restaurant recommendations for our evenings. She spent three days with us, and our family was truly sad to say goodbye. We have traveled the world and been on many private tours, but Agatha was an exceptional guide who ranks at the very top. She is a true asset to TourByLocal and a must-book guide for anyone visiting Krakow.

Dewi is a wealth of knowledge and a terrific entertainer. He guided us through an engaging Spy Tour with loads of facts and great stories.

TBL is a fantastic platform to find the most experienced and hospitable guides. We have used them many times and this Paris trip guided by Claudio A., was no exception. It enhances the experience and is well worth the additional investment. Chances are, you'll do this one. Get it right.

Adam is knowledgeable and super entertaining. We really enjoyed our time with him. In addition to the tour, he gave us valuable local insight and recommendations.

Jelena was a wonderful guide for the history and architecture of Split

Xavier was a great guide for our group in Quebec City. He was very knowledgeable and interesting in his presentation. We had a lot of questions about the area not even related to the tour and he was happy to answer those. We would highly recommend him.
