The Japanese Shop Arvostelua 

I ordered a few products with gift wrapping included, and they looked beautiful. I rarely see a store that takes so much care over the way they package things. The person I gave the gifts to was very pleased, and I absolutely would shop here again.

We ordered all our presents this year from the Japanese Shop. Absolutely seamless and stress-free experience and the gifts all arrived well-packaged, damage-free and absolutely beautifully wrapped. I would definitely recommend. Also, the lovely note and beautiful Japanese crane was an added touch and typical of Japanese Omotenashi. Thank you so much. Emma X

If I could give 10 stars, I would! Incredible selection of some truly unique items that would make a good Christmas present for anyone! Quick and safe dispatch, meaning that the order came undamaged and on time. Will absolutely be my go-to place for anything Japanese related :)

Bought a pair of glass tumblers with sun and moon pattern and they are a delight. Am looking at them now on the kitchen windowsill as the sunlight hits them.

I have purchased a few bits from this shop and every time I am more than happy with my purchase. My partner and I love all things Japan so being able to buy Japanese products/gifts is great.

I bought two ramen bowls and two rice bowls from the Japanese Shop. They are truly beautiful, made in Japan and are very authentic. Included in the parcel (which was extremely well packaged, everything arrived in perfect condition) was a little washi origami crane, with a small note. These little touches show the attention to detail and customer service of the Japanese Shop is above and beyond most other retailers. There are four other ramen and rice bowls that are currently out of stock, I can't wait for my notification email to tell me they are back in, I will definitely be ordering from TJS again in the future. I ordered something online, and I had a problem paying for the item, it transpired, it wasn’t my card, but The Japanese shop payment Website, Naomi, sorted the problem out the following day of placing the order, and she telephoned me, and had to leave a voice message and followed it up with an email, excellent communication, thank you. Would definitely purchase from this company again.

Beautiful noodle bowls and chop sticks, exactly as described and larger than expected, which is great. Very prompt service, will certainly use again and recommend. Also appreciated the little origami crane. Lovely touch.

I bought the Turquoise Crackleglaze Oblong plate as a birthday gift, and I am so impressed with how beautiful and how high quality it is! For the price, it is simply sublime. The packaging was again, perfect; it came with many layers of bubble wrap to prevent breakage, and was wrapped in Japanese packaging - the little origami crane was such a sweet touch. Dispatch and shipping was super quick - I ordered on the morning of the 19th August and it came the very next day, even though I did not pay for next day delivery! I am so pleased with my order.

The care and consideration of this company is amazing. It begins with the website itself and finishes with the delivery of their products. I worried that my purchases may be damaged in transit but the packing is so secure that my concerns were unjustified. As for the items, all I can say is that I couldn't be happier. Quality and selection are the watchwords and I highly recommend The Japanese Shop! PS the origami crane was a delightful surprise.

19 May 2021. Bought a silk Kimono online for my dear wife's birthday together with a gift box. The beautifully wrapped package arrived very quickly, but was successfully hidden until presented to her this morning. Everything about the kimono (colour, quality and & fit, plus the extra little origami Stork gift) amazed and delighted her, to the extent that it brought tears to her eyes. Top class product from a top class company. Thanks to everyone at the Japanese Shop for helping to make my wife's birthday very special. 10 out of 5 stars!!

Being a regular viewer of NHK world Japan, I was delighted to find a shop where one could purchase Japanese products. The Japanese seem so meticulous and put so much pride an effort in their work, that I did not hesitate to order a Kimono from the Japanese Shop. What I got seemed a badly finished product, made of a cheap fabric, rough to the touch, which actually cost me £79. As for the 'lovely gift wrap' my kimono came in a black plastic bag (inside out ParcelForce bag), secured with the usual brown tape. Nothing lovely about it. Should have known better.

I just can't recommend this shop highly enough. Have used five times now and always have an excellent experience - lovely products, dispatched promptly and wrapped beautifully. Has never disappointed.

Excellent service. Ummed and arred about ordering on the Saturday, jumped in and did so. Two days later beautifully packed and presented by a smiling Postie the goodies arrived.....even the Sun came out for a moment. One slight issue, only one of the Bowls I wanted......oh well, first come first service! PS It was not missing, you only had one in stock.

Ordered a new calendar for the new year. Came perfectly and carefully wrapped, and arrived quickly after ordering. I absolutely loved the little origami gift included as well as Hiromi’s sweet letter that came with it, it really put a smile on my face. I honestly couldn’t recommend this shop enough. I have ordered a couple of times now and have been overly impressed each time. I will most definitely shop from here again in the future.

At the time of my ordering they were experiencing problems with the website.
I rung up as I wanted some items for Christmas and couldn't wait any longer - the man on the phone was apologetic and extremely helpful.
He took my order , and I received confirmation, despatch notifications via email.
The items arrived beautifully gift wrapped and everyone loved their gifts,
