The Japanese Shop Arvostelua 

I bought a Japanese Kokeshi Doll which arrived today. I used the on-line shop for my purchase, and the doll matched the picture and is beautiful. It arrived in the timescale stated, and was well packaged.

I had looked at your website before our visit to Harrogate and knew exactly what I wanted to purchase. They were Father Christmas Japanese Kokeshi Doll, Midi Christmas Kokeshi Doll & Medium Snowman Handpainted Kokeshi Doll. The two ladies were so lovely and so very welcoming and were super helpful. Nothing was a bother. The items we had chosen are absolutely beautiful and we can’t wait to display them for many many years to come.

I have had a couple of orders in the last couple of weeks. The service and products are first class. Orders came well packaged, super quick delivery and great communication. The products are beautiful, I bought some rice bowls, a ramen bowl, a plate, a chopstick rest and a spoon. All are super high quality and I will cherish them for years. Packaged perfectly i asked for pink wrapping in the notes and they gave me such beautiful presentation, aswell as fast delivery times its perfect and exactly what i was looking for i will be ordering again .

I ordered a Japanese stamp book as I plan to go travelling in Japan next year. Delivery was really quick and when arrived it was nicely packaged and the product is of good quality and has a really nice design. It was also nice to receive a letter from the company thanking me for their business and came with a free paper crane. I would definitely recommend this company for anyone who likes Japanese products.

We bought several tenugui during a recent visit to Japan but forgot to buy sufficient hanging poles before we came home. Having done a lot of searching online, I came across this shop, and they had exactly what I was looking for. My order was promptly acknowledged and the hanging poles arrived when promised, very carefully wrapped, and are lovely quality. And the price was similar to the ones we bought in Japan. Delighted with this purchase. Thank you very much!

I hope I am being fair here. Placed my order in early December to beat the rush and opted for the complementary gift wrapping. Gift wrapping was really lovely and therefore I didn’t open to check, which turned out to be a fatal mistake. I trustingly passed the present to my friend for Christmas, only to find out from them on Christmas Day that they are the wrong bowls inside the gift wrap.

While mistakes do happen, the company did not go the extra mile to rectify despite me blatantly expressed how distraught I felt and embarrassed. I was simply given all the standard procedure - “On safe receipt of the 6 x rice bowls, we will send you the 6 x Tochiri Ceramic Japanese Salad Bowls”, nothing more, nothing less. I was even expected to fill in the “return form”, which they fully know why, to source suitable packaging and cushion to sent the bowls back.

I was not asked how they can make the return and exchange process better or, at the very least, more seamless; nor what they can offer to make up for their mistake. Not to mention it is now the end of the year, my friend will be left bowl-less until the replacement arrive and my embarrassment continue into the new year and beyond.

I was bought some ramen bowls as a gift. They are absolutely lovely, with a beautiful whale design. The packaging they came in made my heart sink though, it was a huge box filled with packaging of different types, and much of it and a lot of plastic. Until this is changed for something more sustainable I couldn't buy anything online from them.

A really great company, product arrived fast, within a couple of days, exactly like it was shown on their website, the item was fragile and it was very well packaged and arrived in perfect condition! I would definitely buy from them again! :)

We purchased a vase & incense set for our hallway & we were absolutely delighted with the items we received so couldn't wait to put them on display when they arrived. The packaging was thoughtful & well considered to deliver fragile items and accompanying our items was a letter from Hiromi attached to a petite & beautifully delicate origami construct as a gift. Highly recommended & reminiscent of the levels of quality & thoughtfulness that Japanese culture proudly embodies.

I ordered one of their beautiful folding fans complete with a holder and a case.

I forgot to order gift wrapping at check-out but upon my contacting them thereafter, they graciously did that for me at no extra cost.

Their communication in this matter was prompt and courteous.

The order shipped within the promised timeframe.

The gift wrapping was beautiful, and even included a tiny origami crane. (I did not get to see the actual products as I bought them as gifts, and so I never opened the wrapping.)

I can wholeheartedly recommend this online shop to anyone looking for genuine, quality Japanese products.
