I’ve just completed the sale of a house I’d owned for around 30 years, and I couldn’t have asked for better support from Talbots Law. I was kept informed at every stage, everything was explained in plain English, and calls and emails were always answered promptly.

Very unprofessional experience from…
Very unprofessional experience from start to finish. Will never use or recommend talbots law. The staff are rude (Phillip Holland) who shouted at me asking me “do I know who I’m talking to” which I found incredibly unprofessional. lack of professionalism throughout. We had paid for conveyance searches but were not given this information until after the sale had been completed despite asking multiple times. This had led to unexpected issues which have affected planning and development of property, then to learn our land registry hadn’t been submitted until two months after the completion date! I had written a complaint months ago but still awaiting a response. Overall very disappointing experience which has made the whole process unnecessarily stressful .
I would go as far as to say they are incompetent as I constantly had to chase for information. Please do not copy and paste the same generic response to this review as it’s looks ridiculous that every bad review has the same response. Will be easier to employ competent staff.

Unhappy experience making an approach
Having recently obtained documentary evidence supporting my claim, on 21 October I sent a detailed account of a historical assault I experienced in the 1980s - from which I have suffered PTSD ever since - via Talbots Law web site, which was emotionally draining to write.
They sent no confirmation email and the next day I had to email to inquire if it had been received.
Contrary to their web site byline stating "If you experienced sexual abuse in the past, our historical sexual abuse solicitors can provide specialist support and advice with compassion and discretion", several hours later I finally received, albeit just a one-line, response:
"Unfortunately, its an area of law that we don’t cover so we will be unable to assist" without any other detail or explanation to at least help inform and guide me as to the "area of law" that nullified my approach to help me find another firm better suited to my claim.
If Talbots Law can't at least even briefly explain why they can't help someone in my situation instead of dismissing their approach so bluntly - leaving them floundering and uncertain which direction to now take - then just be prepared that your experience too may not meet with the heartfelt sentiment expressed on Talbots Law web site.
To be treated so bluntly having literally taken days to build up the courage to submit my claim has left me deflated and depressed. A human response is not much to ask, surely?
