Extremely disappointing experience with Stratstone Doncaster.

This was my fourth brand-new M car purchased from the Stratstone Group and my second from Doncaster, costing just under £100k in October 2025.

Unfortunately, the car was supplied with a manufacturing defect from new, which BMW subsequently acknowledged. Following two failed repair attempts, the proposed third repair involved cutting and welding the chassis. Whilst BMW considered this an acceptable repair on effectively a brand new car with 2,500 miles, I exercised my legal right to reject the vehicle under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

What followed has been weeks of unnecessary difficulty, delays, and resistance from both Stratstone Doncaster and BMW UK. Despite raising legitimate concerns and acting entirely within my consumer rights, the level of customer service I received has fallen well below what I would expect from a premium manufacturer and retailer.

Having spent approximately £300k with the Stratstone Group since 2015, it is disappointing to conclude that customer loyalty appears to carry little weight when a serious issue arises.

The one exception was the sales colleague, who was professional, honest, and helpful throughout. If the wider business treated customers with the same level of care, my experience may have been very different.

I am now pursuing legal action against both Stratstone Group and BMW UK.

Based on my experience, I would advise others to proceed with caution as this Group are disingenuous.

I’ll no doubt get the standard response on here from retailer but for anyone interested in my case the full details are on the M3cutters.co.uk forum under the g80 section (G81 Manufacturering Defect).

I was well looked after for bringing my X5 in for servicing on 6th May 2026. Olivia was the front of BMW and was knowledgeable. specific and efficient.

Thanks to the unknown engineering staff who serviced the car.

I dealt with Craig and from start to finish he was excellent along with the rest of the Stratstone team. No hard sell, really wanted me to get what I needed and went over and above to pull out the stops to get the new car quickly with a really fair trade in. Brilliant!

Fantastic service from Neil and Mike at Doncaster branch

I've used Stratstone BMW Doncaster for a number of years now as they are efficient friendly and accommodating. Great people to deal with!

Thankyou

Excellent service from the team at Doncaster BMW. Stay to finish great communication, excellent knowledge of the car and keeping me informed along the way. Neil took over the sale side of things and all positive about the way we were treated. Would certainly buy again.

This was my fifth purchase from this dealership in the last few years, the customer service is outstanding, I have dealt with Martin in the new vehicle sales team and he is always very honest, friendly and always goes the extra mile. Throughout this latest purchase he kept me updated with the progress of the purchase and answered many questions that I asked. I would recommend 100%

I received prompt and professional service at the BMW service station Doncaster, where the staff were courteous, friendly and polite. The facilities were clean and well-organised. The entire experience—from check-in to vehicle collection—was efficient and pleasant. The two front desk employees were nothing short of enthusiastic and fantastic. They made me comfortable. Can’t wait to buy a brand new car… soon.

Olivia made me feel comfortable from the minute I walked in, from noticing my reg plate pulling into the car park, to offering me a seat and a drink. She was an absolute pleasure to deal with. I was also very comforted by how much she kept me in the loop throughout my MOT process by giving me updates on the phone. It truly felt like I was her only customer of the day with how dedicated she was. 10/10, coming from someone who worked in the trade years gone by I was very impressed.

I was very satisfied with the service I recently received when I purchased a used car from Stratstone BMW in Doncaster. In particular it was a pleasure to deal with Jamie O’Mara who could not have been more helpful.
He answered all my queries honestly and speedily and helped the whole process, from first viewing to driving away with my new car, to run smoothly and easily. This is the best experience I have had when buying a second hand car and I would recommend this dealership to anyone.

I waited while a service was completed, the reception and care provided was great. During the 2hr wait, I was repeatedly asked if I needed anything and was provided updates.

My experience with this dealership was exceptional & effortless.
Olivia from the service dept sorted everything out for me from the start - she was fantastic

Always get fantastic service when I come here from warranty work and MOT everything sorted within the space of a day or two max with top class communication
