I ordered a £1,000+ Hayter lawnmower as a surprise gift for a friend in Bristol. They questioned the different delivery address, so I explained it was a gift and even provided my Council Tax bill to verify my London address.
Despite providing the requested proof, their director decided to cancel the order and refund me. This ruined the surprise and left me embarrassed in front of my friend, who was already expecting his gift.
I did receive my refund, but I find the way they treated a genuine customer spending over £1,000 completely unacceptable. I have now taken my business to one of their competitors.

I just purchased a Husqvarna new ride on mower, I called up and talked to a gentleman called Stewart in their machinery department and he was most helpful, I ordered it online and went over to Yorkshire to pick the machine up, everyone were very helpful, they kindly showed me how the machine works and how to use it then they helped to load it up in to the van for me, I would for sure recommend this garden center to everyone, friendly and helpful people and best customer service, thank you everyone, I am happy with the machine I purchased and with the service I have received.

Good Christmas lunch, last minute Christmas shopping all round good experience, staff friendly and helpful, lovely decorations, will be back in the spring.

Ordered garden bench direct, excellent value for money and very good quality, easy to assemble and very sturdy. Andy in the office was very helpful when I was having trouble with the carrier!

We often come to the Steam and Moorland. Each time we visit the Engine Shed Restaurant upstairs.
There’s plenty of room downstairs for a wheelchair or crutches. A fabulous lift which accommodates a wheelchair with its add-on easily.
On this last occasion we had our Christmas dinner. A party of 5 of us this year. Really well priced and great food. Fresh veg and everything. My wife and I had the traditional 3 course dinner, which nearly finished me off.
Staff are great and chatty. Everything is cooked to order, but you don’t mind when you can taste all the freshness in the food. Gravy and Stuffing to die for.
I will always recommend the Engine Shed at the Steam and Moorland.
We possibly use it a couple of times a month.
