I tried slowdating hoping to meet new ppeople at a relaxed pace, but after usng it for a while most conversations barely went anywhere. Many profiles seem inactivve or rarely reply, and it`s hard to tell who is genuinely interested. The interface is straightforward, but without clearer activity indicators or more responsive users it often feels like you are browsing a ghost town

I went speed-dating twenty, yes, 20 times with Slow Dating. I never, ever, had a match. I usually chose at least one or two women. I am sure that some of the time a few of the women were married or paired-up friends of those who were genuinely single, just to give them moral support or make up the numbers. I think a lot of women there go there with the idea of meeting the perfect man. At my age group, 45 plus, you can't be fussy any more. I am attractive, solvent, intelligent and witty, but it was a waste of time. In the end, I gave up, because my mental health was suffering. I had a few decent conversations and the events were organised ok, but sometimes only 6 women would turn up, when it said sold out. That is cheating. And now, in December 2025, I see that there are no events advertised anywhere. Did Slow Dating go bankrupt? I wouldn't be surprised.

I tried very hard to book a ticket for tonight’s event in Norwich which I will admit took some plucking up of courage to do.
I wasn’t able to book with all the options greyed out and unable to select. I emailed the organisers who suggested trying another device which I did with still no success. I was then sent a discount code to use which again didn’t work and wasn’t recognised so I went back to the organisers for help.
Sadly nothing was resolved so I was unable to attend. I find this a great shame and wonder if it was just me that had the issues or did others too and if the event was well attended?

Shockingly disorganised and unprofessional both with the event itself and the follow up admin. I definitely would not recommend them!

Absolute chancers. Organisation skills none-existant at venues. Attended an event on 8th October in Birmingham and it got cancelled on the night due to poor attendance. Requested refund. Not received it or any communications. This goes for Myspeeddate as well as same company. Avoid - best off doing the dating apps.

Communication is terrible! They cancelled an event and didn’t refund the money. I’ve contacted them twice by email since they don’t have a contact number, but there’s been no response. I’m going to dispute the payment.

A great night - would definitely use slow dating again

I booked, then they cancelled my event the day before it was supposed to take place.
I am now in a relationship so no longer want a new booking, but they haven’t responded to my emails about a refund.

After posting this review they then replied to the email I had previously sent and gave me a refund.

60% of the women didn't make an votes.. that's very odd.. but I have my suspicions of why!

Overpriced and poorly organised. Venue dark, noisy and not enough women. Tables very wobbly so down went an expensive drink!Three out of 12 candidates weren’t even from the area - 200 odd miles away? Not clear why anyone would spend that money for a cheap fling with someone from a different county.
Then the offer to try again for free is only if you don’t select that you like anyone…..They offered a ‘goodwill gesture’ which is £5 off future bookings but this exists anyway! Pretty cheeky, wouldn’t recommend.

These guys Donna and Ray or Roy S kept harassing me and saying I was ghosting them. They are actually supposed to be helping people lol. There is seriously something wrong with these 2. They were literally trying to bully me into buying their package. They are scammers. Beware!

Beware this is a scam you will have zero connections Slow Dating filter the people out . I have attended 3 events in Devon . A number of other people at these events have had the same issues. A failure will encourage you to attend again

Very poor site. Save your money and use others.

I have booked twice and paid for events in Swindon which get cancelled with just 24 hrs notice.

This is after I paid for train tickets twice to the event at considerable cost.

The marketing strategy and basic organisation is clearly failing badly.

I booked on to this event at the MK venue for the 13th. I turned up at 19:10, 20 minutes before the event was supposed to begin as advised, but there was no check in and there were no "hosts" to greet me. In fact, there was no signage or any indication whatsoever that the was a dating event going on.

The confirmation email I received stated "At check in, you will be welcomed by the hosts..." but all I saw was a bunch of rowdy drunken people outside, and when I went inside to look, again no check in, just loads of people lining up at the bar, all awkwardly leaning in trying to get one of the bartenders attention for a drink.

I decided to leave at this point as it was such an uncomfortable experience just hanging around by myself. Save yourself £22 and try Tinder instead.

So, saw the reviews of which nearly 50% are bad but thought I'll give it a go.

I emailed slow dating a week before my event as their website showed men out but 14 unsold women's tickets for Swindon, they replied saying not to worry, the event is going ahead and they have many different sales platforms and the website isn't accurate.

Well, the day before my event, low and behold, cancelled, not enough women.

If a company lies then it shows it's true nature, why not say in the email response that the event is currently short on women participating but we're working hard to boost the numbers through multiple sales platforms, rather then lie.

AVOID THIS COMPANY ---- us one that can be trusted!

Very few people complete their likes and dislikes so after the event you find only 2 from 10 have filled the form in.
The host needs to stress the important of this .
There's also groups of married women hoping for the laugh or ego boost on the 3 events .
Finally it will show women sold out yet only 5 or 6 turn up leaving us guys having to wait for chats .
Very frustrating process.

Slow Dating is the company name.
We finished 33 minutes early 12 women and 14 men. 4 minutes per, it could have been 5 minutes... maths wasn't the hosts strong suit. Tickets got messed on entry lost 6 men.
The system needs to be altered to the attendances in my opinion. 2hr divide by attendance minus 15, 1 minute per man for movement. = time per date.

Venue though lovely, area wasn't at all driver friendly nor disabled friendly by any measure. Male bathroom visit is frankly a mission on its own.

Apart from these minor difficulties that can simply be adjusted.
The people were lovely, friendly and warm. It was my first time and I wasn't at all nervous.
However you have to understand the main issues here. Balance of men to women and women to men. You get more than two of either extra and it gets difficult. They try their best to organise humans, but if the demand isn't there the night can be called off, or becomes unbalanced. We have to accept this with good grace if we want this service to continue.
With that warning statement, it's far better than online dating even st it's worse.

Absolutely rubbish.
The number of females far out weighed males. They didn’t give us time for notes in between, just rushed people through.
They said they would send you an email to enter your matches within 24 hours and you have to completion within 48. It’s almost been 48 hours and I haven’t received an email (yes I have checked junk). The responses of customer service are incredibly slow and have not been helpful. I don’t recommend this service.
Update: My profile finally updated and I was able to enter matches. My profile asked them to send any match my phone number only. Instead they sent them my email address, which I didn’t want because it meant this person had my full name.

Fairly priced events hosted at overpriced bars serving overpriced drinks. The quality of people that show up is subpar. The ratio of women to men at these events is shocking. Slow dating then takes it upon themselves to bring in people who are older/out of the specified age range for the event. If you’re someone that wants to find something genuine, I would recommend this event to a person that wants to be a part of a humiliation ritual.

There’s loads other events hosted by other companies that I find are far better. Avoid slow dating at all costs!

Have been to 9 of these events now, and have had just one single match.

The advice for men on many Internet Dating forums is, as with OLD, to tick all the ladies who you are basically willing to go to bed with. This will maximize your chances of getting at least some matches. You can then select the ladies you really want to meet from these matches and ghost the rest. I thought this was very cynical and tried to tick only ladies who I felt some connection with. Of course I went to event after event and came away with nothing.

My one match came when I did try ticking all the ladies. The problem was, the match arrived two weeks after the event. I suspect the lady had been ghosted by her first choice and gone back and amended her matches to include her second and third choices. I accept that I may have encouraged her to do this by uploading my photo to the site. Only upload your photo if you are willing to be in a runner up relationship.

Having selected all the ladies, after 2 weeks, I of course had no recollection of the lady concerned, what she looked like or what we had spoken about. I had long since dumped the notes I had made on the night, although these are never very good, coz as a man you are constantly being asked to move, making note taking difficult. Had I actually met her in real life, I would have been staring from scratch but with the knowledge she had already rejected me once. I make no apologies for admitting I ghosted her.

Changes to match choices should be limited to a 7 day window, not the current 28.

Part of the issue is the continued unwillingness of slow dating to change things around at some events so that the women more around and the men remain seated. The research on this suggests that this would encourage the ladies to be less selective and the men to be more so, mitigating some of the problems with current arrangements.

I have stopped attending these events coz I was starting to worry about my mental health in the face of constant rejection. Like gambling, these events can become addictive and should carry a health warning. When the fun stops, stop.
