Just been told my seneye has had it as I cannot get an accurate ph reading . It is just 2 years old so they will not do anything but offer me a new one at a slightly reduced price. What’s the point in paying out for another piece of useless kit that doesn’t last a total waste of money. I have a 5 foot marine set up with some expensive fish so I will find something I can rely on. Not at all impressed with company products or the support please avoid
I was told the replacement was same as the one I’d got .Why would I want to buy another one that will only last 2 years and it was not heavily discounted just a few pounds less than the normal price.

MY PRODUCT BECAME DEFECTIVE WITHIN ITS WARRANTY PERIOD (LESS THAN 1 YEAR). I ASSUMED IT WAS AN INTERNET ISSUE SO TRIED MANY TIMES TO TURN IT OFF AND BACK ON, IN AN EFFORT TO RESOLVE THE CONNECTION ISSUE.
WHEN I HIGHLIGHTED IT TO SENEYE, THEY CONFIRMED THAT IN FACT THE ACTUAL PRODUCT WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDS REPLACING, BUT REFUSED TO COVER IT AS BY THE TIME I INFORMED THEM, THE WARRANTY WAS OVER. I HIGHLIGHTED THAT THEY CAN SEE MY SENEYE DATA ON THEIR SYSTEM AND THEY CAN SEE THE DEFECT HAPPENING WELL WITHIN THE WARRANTY PERIOD. I ALSO INFORMED THEM THAT I WOULD SHARE MY EXPERIENCE REGARING THIS ONLINE, AT WHICH POINT THEY EMAILED ME WITH A WARNING ABOUT LEAVING A REVIEW OF THEM, TELLING ME THAT IT "WILL NOT BE TOLERATED", AND THREATENED TO REMOVE MY SUPPORT FROM THEM IF I POSTED A REVIEW. ITS MY LEGAL RIGHT TO POST A GENUINE REVIEW, WITHOUT REPRECUSSIONS FROM THE COMPANY. THEIR BULLYING THREATS SHOULD NEVER BE TOLERATED.
THE PRODUCT WAS EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE AND BROKE WITHIN LESS THAN 1 YEAR - I CANNOT RECOMMEND THEM IN ANY WAY.

Disappointing support and lousy quality
I had two SWS and both die on me due to a broken USB port: first one had the micro usb (power) falling off. The second one had the USB A broken. The second one was just a few months out of warranty so I thought let’s try support. They promised that they would be able to fix it, but after two months they came back with: sorry it cannot be fixed but we can offer you a discounted replacement. What they forget to tell is that the price they mention is without transport cost. When you have swallowed that and the parcel is send the third unpleasant surprise pops up: they send it as new commercial goods instead of replacement goods. Which means that, unless you are in the UK, you have to pay custome duties and administrative cost. In the end I got a replacement device at the cost of a brand new device if I had it purchased locally !!!! Support stops communicating if you complain about that! So one word for te Seneye support: disappointing!

Several attempts made on different days Mon to Fri between 9am and 5pm. Also contacted support by email and waiting for an email from support other than an email auto generated. Reason to contact Support is usb SenEye device not recognised by SWS. Usually Support get back to you in timeous manner and you can contact SenEye by telephone.
Unreliable Seneye device
I purchased the original Seneye home device in 2016 when it first came out. The device was always a bit hit or miss when uploading readings to the Seneye server.
I often had to contact customer support to have my device reindexed in order to manually add the readings to my dashboard.
On a couple of occasions, all my readings were "lost" after a reindex took place.
I persevered with the device until in 2021 it stopped recording data completely.
Seneye support requested I send the device to them for testing. The result was that the device was deemed unrecoverable as it had failed all the calibration checks and tests.
I was offered the chance to purchase a new device at a discounted price.
I took up the offer. However this new device still continued to have problems uploading readings to the server and continually required to be reindexed.
Again, I lost all readings from the server at one point.
After 11 months of use, the device died. No lights were visible when connected to the USB power supply and no readings were being captured by the slide.
I logged this with support and they asked me to send a short video showing the lights.
Pretty pointless I thought as I'd already advised that there were no lights showing. However, I carried out their instructions and sent a video.
Seneye support contacted me to say that they meant me to send a video when powered up. I explained that the device was indeed powered when I took the video and that no lights were visible at the time of the recording.
However, I played along and I plugged it back in and weirdly it appeared to be working again.
I advised Seneye customer support who had no explanation as to how this could happen. They advised that as the device appeared to be working again they would close the ticket.
I said I would monitor the device and let them now how I got on.
Over the next couple of weeks, I found that every time I disconnected the device from the USB power supply and connected to my laptop to upload the readings to the server, the device appeared not to work. If I left the unit powered down for a couple of hours and reconnected to either the laptop or the USB supply, it started working again.
I put up with this for another couple of weeks till eventually I got fed up with the process.
I contacted Seneye support to advise them that the device had redeveloped the same fault. I explained how leaving it disconnected for an hour or so seemed to temporarily clear the fault.
They requested I send the device back to them for testing.
On completion of their tests, they advised that the device was not functioning correctly and would need to be replaced and they offered me the option to purchase a 3rd device again at a reduced price as the device was a few days out of warranty.
I queried why I needed to pay as I had reported the initial fault within the warranty period. I was advised that as it had started working again and I had then reported the same fault after the warranty had expired then they could not supply a warranty replacement.
I politely advised them that after paying hundreds of pounds on 2 devices plus the huge cost of slides over the years, I could not justify spending more on what appears to be an unreliable product.
What really annoyed me was the fact that I had reported the fault within the warranty. It was the exact same fault I reported a few weeks later so it had already been reported that there was an issue with the device.
All in all pretty poor service for a long standing customer who has used their product for over 5 years.
I honestly couldn't recommend the device due to being so unreliable. I would expect such an expensive device to last longer than a year.
Its only got to save you once to pay for itself 10 times over
I've had aquariums for about 20 years and am well aware that regular testing isnt enough. I thought i'd try a Seneye and run it off an old computer instead of buying the SWS. Its been brilliant and setup was pretty easy - not sure of the other views. I was running this on my mixed reef tank and my bubble tip nem decide to make friends with my MP10 Powerhead.. it didnt survive.. but thanks to the ammonia alert I could see it rising and was able to get to the tank to see what had gone wrong, cleared up the mess and a massive water change. I added some turbostart bacteria from my LFS and all was good. I am 100% confident this saved my tank and has been well worth it - especially as I didn't loose £1000's in fish and coral!

Poor quality, expensive and unnecessary
I hope this is useful as it demonstrates the inaccuracy and degradation of the very expensive Seneye device over time.
I bought the device in 2015. Both the pH and temperature readings have consistently been wildly inaccurate.
After 3 years, the Seneye device itself had degraded and crumbled in the water to such an extent as to become almost unusable. It’s quite possible that harmful components of the plastic leached out into the water.
After 6 years, the Seneye Web Service device stopped working altogether.
Although Customer Service were polite, the answer in respect of both the Seneye device and SWS was - and I paraphrase - “you’ll have to replace it” both times.
The equipment was out of guarantee, but please be aware that regularly replacing the equipment will cost you dearly. And is it worth it? No. The Seneye is sadly little more than a toy to impress your friends. If you’re a serious fish keeper, you need accuracy and reliability.
The answer? Regularly test your water using test kits. Save yourself a small fortune on this equipment and the constant buying of slides for it.
In summary, the Seneye device attempts to solve a problem, which never needed to be solved, and it does this badly.
Enjoy keeping your fish, as people have been doing successfully for decades.
Bad registration process
If you buy this product second hand, you have contact Seneye support to make them manually register the device to your account. This process involves, the previous owner to verify you have bought. And on top of this, they only do this Mon - Fri 9 - 17. So of you get your Seneye, Friday after 17, you have to wait until Monday, and until they previous owner has accepted. This is really bad :(

Excitement turns into disappointment
I was so excited about getting the Seneye, I thought ok so £240 for the whole thing: Seneye Home + the Wi-Fi module for peace of mind, continuous tank monitoring and amazing convenience. I was wrong!
I did not mind the complicated setup process - small price to pay for great benefit, but Seneye failed where it matters the most ACCURACY?
I use API master Test kit as well as another liquid base test to measure all water parameters, and continued doing so after setting up Seneye for 8 weeks. Unfortunately, the ONLY accurate reading I am getting from the Seneye is Tank temperature.
I am getting warnings about my PH being too low (below my warning parameter of 7.0) - so API and the other test kit is telling me my PH is 8.0!!
Same thing with Ammonia reading - Seneye is sending me warning that Ammonia is 0.5 - but all my testing is continually saying it is ZERO!
I did not spend that much and go through the inconvenience, just to get the tank temperature, which I receive remotely anyway through my Inkbird controller.
Before anyone suggest changing a faulty slide, this is my 3rd slide now and the same issues.
Evidently, nothing beats a liquid based test and Seneye really is not worth that much as I can no longer trust it.

Purchased the home pack and on the box…
Purchased the home pack and on the box clearly states monitors the lighting but once setup, it indicated that I had to upgrade to benefit fully from the unit and pay extra which I think is very misleading. On the box it clearly tell you that u will need slides which gives you that information but no where states that you need to upgrade to benefit from the lighting option!
The setup itself, if you are not computer friendly can be a nightmare! Took me about 1 hour to set this up.
While I like the constant ammonia and ph monitoring, I believe it’s about time you update the app to give notifications when parameters are wrong instead of email.
