Scotch & Soda Arvostelua 

I have had scotch and soda garments for 20 years that have stayed in top shape over the years and always loved the brand for its design and quality. I am so disappointed to see how it has gone down. I just bought items which clearly won’t last after a few washes .It is so sad to see yet another example of how everything nowadays becomes such poor quality with acquiring companies putting profit over any other consideration. Shame it can’t be any other way! Won’t buy anymore .

First, I LOVE the style of Scotch and Soda. It has become my favorite brand with the prints, diverse pant styles, and unique flare with sophistication. It’s not cheesy trendy stuff like you find with other brands but it’s far from plain. With that said, I’m having issues with the sizing inconsistencies and online description mismatch. For instance, I buy a shirt that claimed a relaxed fit and it’s way too tight. A size large pair of shorts is accurate for one design and way too tight for another. I pay close attention to the product descriptions and avoid slim fits. I also make sure to size down if it’s a relaxed fit. I order my size if it’s a regular fit. I think the marketing department doesn’t understand what relaxed fit means. It means roomy and promises a garment that will hang , not hug. Not even diligent attention to the description is helping me because half of my purchases are ill fitted clothes I can’t return. They do not allow return or exchange of sale items. I’m going to have to buy less often because I’m wasting money when I order a relaxed fit large and I get a slim fit medium in return.
Dear Scotch and Soda, PLEASE get your sizing and garment fit under control. Relaxed is loose. Slim is tight, and regular is simply true to size. Your clothes are way too beautiful to collect dust in the closet or go right to Goodwill because the fit description is wrong. It’s also heartbreaking to look forward to something that was falsely advertised. Temu offers more consistency so I know you can do it.

The fabric quality on the Stuart chino shorts is extremely poor—developing severe, patchy fading after just two washes despite strictly following care instructions. When I brought this fabric defect to Scotch & Soda's attention, customer support completely ignored the quality issue and sent a canned response redirecting me elsewhere. Very disappointing for a premium (?) brand.

Die Ware kommt teilweise nicht in neuwertigem Zustand an, sondern wirkt gebraucht, oder es fehlt beispielsweise ein Knopf. Bei zwei von drei meiner Retouren gab es Probleme.

Der anschließende Kontakt mit dem Kundenservice war eine sehr frustrierende Erfahrung. Nach über einer Woche gab es immer noch kein Ergebnis und sie verlangten mehrmals die gleichen Nachweise oder brachten irgendwelche Ausreden. Einmal war der Kundenservice gar nicht zu erreichen und später hieß es lediglich, das gesamte Team sei im Firmenurlaub gewesen.

Schließlich habe ich es über den PayPal-Käuferschutz versucht: Bereits eine halbe Stunde später erhielt ich die erste Rückzahlung, und die zweite folgte wenige Tage danach. Zum Glück habe ich mit PayPal bezahlt.

So ein Vorenthalten der Rückzahlung, bei dem ich förmlich darum betteln musste, habe ich als langjährige Online-Shopperin noch nie erlebt.

I have bought clothes from this company for over 10 years. Unfortunately it has been a steep decline.

Material have gone down in quality. Thin jumpers used to be made of merino wool, or cotton, blended with cashmere. They have since then all been replaced with synthetic materials. The only items I continue to purchase from them are their chinos, which have remained largely unchanged over the years, and their shirts.

The style too has completely lost all of its class and is now more focused on being "trendy", and conforming to society's expectations, rather than offering something sophisticated.

The spirit that drove this company previously has completely died, most likely as a consequence of the acquisition by their parent company - Bluestar Alliance, following their bankruptcy in 2023.

The shift is perfectly illustrated by their logo. The heritage-rich vintage sewing machine logo was abandoned in favour of a minimalist, flat 'S' that lacks the original's character.

$128, never worn and wouldn’t accept a return for a replacement size up. Wow do not buy from this company.

I have bought a few products instore over the years.

Recently, the stitching gives way, threads from buttons fray.

What does "designed in" mean? Production quality , stitching technique and quality of threads and buttons are important .Quality control seems to be weak.

It was London’s shop and it’s the worst return experience. No return label, no response from customer support for two weeks, no refund or discount.

Achtung wegen der Versandkosten!

Ich habe für die Ware insgesamt etwa 64 Euro bezahlt. Nach der Rücksendung wurden mir jedoch nur 52 Euro erstattet.

Für den Versand werden 6,95 Euro berechnet, und für die Rücksendung fallen zusätzlich 4,95 Euro an. Dadurch bleibt am Ende deutlich weniger übrig, als man ursprünglich bezahlt hat.

Für mich ist Scotch & Soda daher kein kundenfreundliches Online-Versandunternehmen.

Awful experience - refused refund because apparently I'd order sale items, not obvious at all. So now I'm stuck trying to spend credit with them online, the sizes are all over the place, and god help you if you have to return something, the process is ridiculous, you have to apply and wait for an approval which seems to be at the mercy of when someone might check the inbox... it takes ages

Scotch & Soda's online stores are a fraud. They advertise items on sale that they don't even have in stock, only to get your credit card information. Then you don't receive anything and don't hear from them for weeks. When you contact them they tell you the items are sold out and that they can't refund the money to your credit card. I've had problems with them in several different countries. Someone needs to take this company to court!

Scotch and Soda pants are often a blend of cotton and elastane. The problem with the pants is not the cotton but elastane. This synthetic looks beautiful on first site but is a nightmare to take care of. Garments with elastane wrinkle with ease and removing them is extremely difficult. Traditional steam and iron techniques will fail because elastane cools differently than cotton. Also, the sythetic will pucker when ironing. Pressing the iron on the fabric offers little help. Avoid this product.

Bought a pair of trousers , shortening the trousers was guess work and then they left the security tag. To top it all I got attitude

I bought from Scotch & Soda many pieces over the years... I haven't done much research into fibres. Now I realise all those pieces are often 100% polyester.
I always wondered why they smell so bad quickly and also found that the clothes never had a soft, nice, natural feel to them. Even though their designs are really cool.
Feels like a rip-off...

Ordered an item online, arrived quickly, great.

It was a size medium but what turned up could have easily been an XXXL, it was comical. Sent back to London shop by Royal Mail, waited, chased, told me they had a new returns platform, sent me a returns email notice, 2 weeks had gone by at this point. Chased again, very vague promises and nonchalant response, chased again, yes processing refund, chased again. At this point exactly a month has passed and I am still waiting for a refund. Will be going into London shop and demanding a refund.
I don't care how good your clothes may look Scotch and Soda, you have completely lost me as a lifetime customer. Dishonest organisation.

Je bestelt twee truien om vervolgens een bericht te krijgen dat je een refund krijgt, aangezien een trui niet op voorraad is. Vervolgens kijk je op de website, en daar staat die trui gewoon nog steeds te koop. Gevraagd om deze na te leveren, maar kreeg geen reactie. En ondertussen is de trui alsnog weg. Als goedmakertje krijg je een kortingsbon van 10%... Ik heb vaak iets gekocht als vaste klant bij S&S, maar ik overweeg om niet meer te shoppen daar.

De retour verzending kan alleen als je ook een printer hebt helaas.
De kosten waren zonder printer 7,95. Vervolgens kwam het pakketje niet terecht bij u maar op mijn adres.
Noodgedwongen heb ik het pakket moeten houden
