Trying to get a settlement figure

I have spent over a week trying to get a settlement figure. I tried via the website and it doesn't work. They also tell me they have posted it to me but I haven't received it. They have zero interest in customer service

Faulty new Kia Niro Hev4

Last year I purchased a brand new £33000 Kian Niro HEV4 using Kia Finance (Santander). After a few weeks I noticed a fault with the gearbox and, as advised by Kia Motors I took to my local dealer who could not f8nd a fault. Provided video evidence and a report from Auto Express which showed the same fault with the Kia press car they had, dealership looked again and found no fault.
Beginning of December 2022 I contacted Santander and rejected the car. It took until mid January for them to have an independent engineers report carried out which confirmed the car was faulty. Santander Refused to accept the finding of their own engineer!
I then had to stop driving the car and contacted the financial ombudsman.
To cut a long and harrowing story short, the car was off the road for 8 months, during which time I had to buy another car to keep me mobile.
In August the Ombudsman found in my favour and gave Santander 28 days to complete a refund and several other items.
As I write this it is day 57 and they still have not completed the Ombudsman’s instructions. Absolutely appalling.
Avoid using this Company their service is terrible.

Out of date finance services

Out of date finance service with zero customer care.
Had a car finance via Mazda, and after paying a clearance amount it has taken 12 days so far and today they have finally 'cleared' the finance BUT can only post or FAX a letter to confirm. To get that much information too over 2 hours on hold. They are unable to email anything out due to the, in their own words 'old systems'. They expect it to take 3 -5 days to update the status on the website from today.
They are still blaming Corona V for poor service and long hold periods - the hiding place for all bad service.

Phone Call

I missed a phone call from them this afternoon. I missed the call by seconds - it was an 0800 number. I immediately called back only to hear a voice saying that the number cannot be reached. Absolute b*llsh*t!!

Where do I start unsles bank.

Where do I start, apply for 0 balance transfer credit card. Lucky that was small amount. You done it twice. On the phone endless time until someone answer. Onse that resolved trying link on the app impossible my bank first direct is not on the list. So on the phone again, so I can pay, nope can't even do that. Finely contact my bank so they can pay the full amount balance. Again on the phone 20 minutes waiting so I can cancel and close the account. Your app is not up to standard, your online chat useless. Over all shambles from start to end.

Diabolical Service and Company STAY AWAY

Absolute disgusting service
The financed my car and the car broke down after 5 days and they dont want to helpand they keep saying they will call me back but they never do, they are time wasters and I will stay away from them and advise all the people not to finance with them, because if something goes wrong they wont help you, im stuck with a £40,000 car that i cant drive and broken!!!

Utterly incompetent

Utterly incompetent! I have tried for three days to settle my account. Their payment page doesnt work and when I try to do it through BAcs or online payment I get a message that the account cannot be verified. When I contacted their customer help they told me to jsut go ahead and they would acknowledge it in 2-3 days. No thanks! What if it goes to the wrong account? "It'll be OK"

I purchased a car from Ringways ford in…

I purchased a car from Ringways ford in Leeds and had the finance arranged by them through Kia finance.
From the day of collection I noticed a few issues with the vehicle, which I reported straight to Ringways and Kia finance.
I was told to get the car booked into the dealership as they only have one attempt to rectify and repair the problems on the car.
The problem consisted of the start stop not working. A noise from the engine and a damp smell coming from the boot.
They had the car for a few days in that Time they rectified the damp, the noise on the engine was to be a characteristic of the vehicle and the start stop had the battery recharged. I collected the vehicle and drove around 50 miles that day in the motorway but unfortunately the start stop didn’t even function the once. I gave it the benefit of the doubt at that point.
But as usage of the vehicle went on the start stop still didn’t operate.
I got in touch with the dealership/Kia finance and I agreed to get the car booked back in and have the issue checked. The car went back in for an overnight booking again I was told the battery had been recharged and the start stop was working. Got the car back the following day and driven again for around 20 miles that day but as before it didn’t active.
I started the complain back and Kia finance reopened my original complaint. I left it with them hoping I would hear something positive but I didn’t hear anything.
I then phoned to get an update and was told my complaints handler would contact me and arrange an inspection on my vehicle which I agreed and again left it with Kia finance. Another few weeks passed and I made a further contact to be told the complaints handler would contact me but unfortunately no contact has been made with me. At this point I am very angry at the fact I have a vehicle which from day one is not fit for purpose and have the right for rejection but no one contacts me plus I am paying a good monthly figure without delay each month but have a vehicle that doesn’t function how it should. I don’t think this is acceptable I’m sure if I stopped paying you, you would be straight on the phone. Please take this complaint seriously as I am not happy at all.

Fejl i systemet

Jeg overførte 30. december et mindre beløb fra min bank til Santander og her tirsdag 5. januar figurerer beløbet stadigvæk ikke.
Da jeg ringede i går mandag fik jeg at vide at beløbet måske ville figure dagen efter eller måske dagen efter igen.
Jeg har så ringet i dag her tirsdag 5. januar og fik således at vide, at det var en fejl i deres system og at den skulle blive rettet i morgen
torsdag d. 6. januar.
Spørgsmålet melder sig, hvorfor man ikke var klar over det noget før.
Og samtidig også hvorfor bankens system åbenbart er så fejlbehæftet.
Det får en til at betænke sig om at overflytte flere penge til banken.

Wollte meinen Kredit von der Super…

Wollte meinen Kredit von der Super Master Card mit einem abgesicherten Rahmenkredit ausgleichen (1700€).
Mein Schufa Score beträgt 95,1% und dennoch wollte die äusserst unfreundliche Beraterin mit keinen Ausgleich ermöglichen. Das zudem mit lächerlichen 6,9% Sollzinsen. Daher: Hände weg von dieser Bank. Da ist sogar die Targo Bank besser und freundlicher.

They are taking the Michael

I have just noticed (second time in a year) that, without telling me, Santander have increased their account management fee (just 100% - to £24 p.a.).
Just like last time they claim that their notification might have gone into my SPAM (it didn't).
How come they don't sens a simple message via the messaging serice that is on the account - their is nothing there.
I believe this failure to notify is quite deliberate so as to slip fee increases through. At the same time their customer service has got much worse - regardless of Covid which they are keen to grasp at as an excuse.
I used to be able to send online messages which they responded to. Now we have the awful chat bots and 'online chat' that merely trots out the company (fabricated) lines.
Absolutely awful after I have been a customer for a million years.
I suppose a sign of the times - do the minimum and rip customers off.

Worst Car lending Company

I wish I would have known how bad this company was. They lie cheat steal your money then say you didn't pay and then reposs your car and they were in the wrong they are really quick to be negative reports on your credit file but so slow in taking it off. They apply your whole payment to interest and nothing to principal again another way to jack your credit score up. Don't use them

The company is just a complete scam!! I canceled my Gap insurance 1 year after I purchased a vehicle, and went with another company who had better rates. Santander received a credit statement and had to write me a check or issue a statement credit, but they just stole $500 from me, making me pay interest on them for another 3 years. When my car was paid off, they sent me a $27 check for unused Gap. All my attempts to prove that it was canceled in 2017 failed, they even ignored a letter from my Gap company confirming the cancelation.

I'll try to make this short. I purchased a car through a shady dealership, though I didn't know that at the time. They set me up with Santander, which is apparently a low-level lender. My contract was never legal, as I had requested my down payment and trade-in back. I had stopped payment on the downpayment, so if the dealership had been credible, the deal would have unwound and everything would have been fine. (long sordid story with the dealership).

Being a responsible person, I had made one payment and was told by a Santander rep to not make any more. They told me, after I explained what the dealer had done, they were going to open an investigation blah blah blah. Gave me a managers name, and told me they would be in touch with me. Well, after a week I called them and was told the name of the manager I was given was not a name they'd ever heard of! So I had to start over for the 20th time with what happened, and was asked why I stopped making payments. When I told this new rep why, he said, "well that was stupid." Fast forward three months and I still have this car, which is now in the process of being reposessed. Which was absolutely fine-hated the car, hated the dealer, hated the lender. The whole thing was a fiasco and extremely stressful. I actually had already purchased another vehicle, and was just waiting for Santander to come get the other one. I had moved, so I called them to change my address. SIX times I had to do that because they could never get it right. It was also suggested by one of their reps that I hide my car in my garage so the repo guy couldn't find it. "They aren't allowed to break in." Wow.

So on the final call with these twits, the idiot on the other end of the line is being really rude and belittling with me. She keeps saying my car is out for repossession unless I pay some exorbitant fee. I had already explained to her that, without a legal contract, I didn't have to pay anything. She argued with me for 10 minutes and then accused me of hiding the vehicle from them. She said, "look, we've gone to your address several times and your car isn't there." To which I asked what address she had on file...it was a PO box. So I said, "well that's probably because it's quite difficult to fit a BMW into a PO box, and if you or any other of your inept employees would have updated my address correctly, you wouldn't have had to send your repo guy on a wild goose-chase." She hung up on me. lol

They finally repoed my car from the parking garage of the dealership I had just bought my new car from. Everybody had a good laugh at their expense. The entire loan of appx $40k was taken off of my credit for guess what? An illegal and non-binding contract.

Just don't do business with them, it's not worth the nightmare.

Don't believe anything they

Santander Consumer USA , when they want to cheat you, they will ignore your request for help. I've been trying to pay online. Sent messages through Facebook, IG , Twitter even on there websites asking them to contact Tech support, because there's a issue, sent screen shots oh but 👎 the will Not. I've never been late. There is someone higher up telling them to block us from paying online, so they can receive a late payment and extra interest. It takes this company 1 month to process mail in payments, the payments sits on the desk. My bank sent e checks and they held the checks. They are big liars. They might have to sell if they keep getting sued.

Not A Company I Will Use Again

Just over a year ago I took finance on an Audi TT as a top up to get a better car, on the 18th December having obtained a settlement figure I posted a cheque using Royal Mail tracked and signed for service it was delivered on the 20th December and they have banked the cheque.

To date I have not had the decency of any communication regarding the payment, I emailed their customer service to say how disappointed I was to receive a reply stating that they were unable to reply due to data protection.

I have now closed my Santander 123 account, if I were able to give NO stars I would have done.
