Sandal Huddersfield BMW Arvostelua 

Visited on 25th June to purchase a BMW iX1. As soon as we arrived we were made to feel welcome. Karen at reception was very friendly and James from used car sales was absolutely outstanding. We have never purchase an electric vehicle, however we were given a long test drive and also a comprehensive account of all the features. James really went over and above to show us everything. We were also introduced to Allan who assisted in achieving a fair valuation on our part exchange. We were treated professionally and proceeded to purchase the vehicle. Sandal’s is a family business and their attentiveness made us feel really appreciated. I would recommend this company to anybody considering buying a vehicle and we would definitely recommend them to friends and family.

Mia and Josh were excellent and the process of purchasing was a pleasure. Unfortunately, my brand new vehicle was presented with surface swirls and fine scratches in the clear coat, resulting in the prep team having to visit the showroom to buff and polish them out from multiple body panels while I waited. Great from Mia and Josh; not the best care in the preparation of vehicle. The prep team did try to rectify it, but the overall experience was marred by the condition of the paintwork at handover, and I'm still left with fine swirls and scratches in the finish that I would rather leave than risk further damage to the paint.

I highly recommend this dealership. The staff are so friendly, helpful and you always get a warm welcome.

The cars a superbly presented and are very well priced too.

I have a BMW Z4 which is a
brilliant car and I cannot praise it enough.
But It is subject to a recall for the starter motor notified to me by BMW by letter towards the middle of last year. So I booked the car in with Sandal who explained that there was a long waiting list due to the number of models and vehicles affected and that the first date available was in November 2025. The day before the car was due to go in, Sandal rang me to say that the parts had not arrived and they would have to re schedule the appointment and that they would contact me when the parts were available. A bit inconveniant but I don't have a busy diary so ok lets live with it.
In March this year I had a call from Sandal reminding me that the car was due an MOT and a brake fluid service and was subject to the recall. I do not have my car serviced by Sandal, I will comment on that later, so I was given a date of Monday the 18th May at 9. 30am. On Saturday the 16th MAY,I had another call saying that the parts had not arrived and they have to reschedule blah blah blah. This again very short notice with no consideration for customers with a busy diary, who may have taken time off work etc. on top of which they could not give me a date when the work could be done.
Is it any wonder that that the Chinese and South Korean manufacturers are successful in this market when you have such poor levels of customer service from a so called prestigious European brand, BMW

Why don't I have my car serviced by Sandal, Cost, they charge almost double that of an independent garage, there is a cost of living crisis.
and maybe this is the reason for the delays?

It's a shame because the cars are so good and it could be so much better for the customer.

Having taken my X3 for a MOT the experience around the booking and the people was brilliant, but it went wrong when I required 2 X new tyres, after having these fitted at a cost of £259 ea, I decided to have the other 2 replaced at kwik fit, at a cost of £202 each for the exact same tyres..!! How Sandal can treat its loyal customers like this is beyond me, clear profiteering and a disgrace, have a look at yourselves Sandal.

Having read the response from Sandal this leans heavily on generalisations and avoids addressing the core concern, which is the actual value and transparency of the pricing provided.
Firstly, stating that you “aim to price competitively” is vague and non-committal. It doesn’t demonstrate that your pricing is competitive in this instance, only that it is an intention. From a customer perspective, that offers little reassurance, particularly where a clear price discrepancy has been identified.
Secondly, highlighting BMW-approved, star-rated tyres feels somewhat deflective. The exact same Pirelli Cinturato P7 (P7C2) were purchased and fitted £100 cheaper not 5 miles away from Sandal Huddersfield so the claim that your pricing is “in line with other national suppliers” lacks transparency. Which suppliers were benchmarked? Were they like-for-like comparisons on brand, specification, speed rating, and availability? Without this detail, the statement is difficult to verify and ultimately unconvincing.
Finally, referencing variables such as stock availability and promotions is understandable, but again shifts the focus away from the specific quote provided. These factors may explain differences, but they don’t justify them—especially if I can obtain the same product far more competitively elsewhere at the same time.
Overall, the response feels generic and doesn’t directly engage with the substance of the concern. A more credible reply would include clear, evidence-based comparisons and a willingness to review or justify the specific pricing offered, rather than relying on broad market statements.

So this was the third time we have visited this dealership in last 18 months - no staff came to speak to us on any occasion even though we are seriously looking to buy an X5 or similar vehicle and discuss options. Not sure anyone works there. We will not waste our time visiting again.

I would like to start this review by giving 5 stars to my salesperson, Haydn. From our first interaction, Haydn was professional, transparent, and a pleasure to deal with. He worked hard to facilitate the sale and is a credit to the team.

Unfortunately, the rest of the experience was a complete failure of both BMW Approved Used standards and dealership management. It is disappointing that a premium brand relies on the customer to act as quality control. During our initial viewing, I identified obvious defects, including a scuffed wheel and paint issues, which should have been identified long before the car was presented for sale.

During the following week, the dealership called to inform me that a fog light shroud was also broken and required a replacement part, causing an initial delay. Despite me identifying the original wheel damage a full week in advance, the preparation team only actioned the wheel repair less than 24 hours before my scheduled collection. This meant that after I had already paid a significant deposit and my finance agreement was live, the handover was cancelled at the eleventh hour because the dealership simply failed to action the work in time.

At this stage, Sandal BMW was in possession of both the car and the full payment for the vehicle, yet they still refused to offer any meaningful support. When I attempted to reason with the dealership, I was met with a dismissive "take it or leave it" ultimatum from management. This response was relayed second hand through Haydn rather than the managers speaking to me directly. The only solution offered was to wait until an unspecified date in March for the car to be driven to our home, which would have added unwanted mileage to the vehicle before we even took possession.
Rather than offering a courtesy car or any gesture of goodwill to rectify their own negligence, the management chose to lose the sale. I have now cancelled the order and rejected the vehicle. It is a shame that the incompetence of the preparation and management teams has completely undermined the great work done by Haydn. I will not be returning to a Sandal Motor Group dealership.

Took my car for MOT and l was informed that a health check will be carried out as well. Only to collect the car and less than 24hrs, the car indicated that it required 1l of oil. Called the office and the receiptionists were very nice and professional but the lady l dealt with from their services who was suppose to explain to me what happened refused to return my call- cant remember her name. Eventually drove there only to be told health check although it includes checking oil, they dont dip stick,they just put on machine! Couldnt believe what l was being told but honestly lost trust in them. One doesnt expect such a service from such a big brand. Right now my car is due for service but dreading if they will do a good job? On top of this, the day l took my car for MOT l requested to change batteries in my car keys. When l collected the car again this was not done. Good job l checked before l left the premises? It would have been another wasted journey

I've always found the sales staff helpful and polite. My last BMW was an approved used 3 series diesel estate. The car was reporting battery faults within 50 miles so I left it on charge overnight but it didn't resolve it. Probably been left stood for a while which damaged the battery. It happens. So contacted Huddersfield service department who despite online detail to the contrary I was told by the warranty manager it wasn't covered under BMW's warranty. They would however look at it on condition I pay an upfront diagnostic inspection charge and IF it showed a fault and IF BMW accepted the claim, then they'd order a battery and then I'd need to come back over again for it fitting when they had a free slot. Too many IF's and trips back and forth for me there, so to put it to bed I bought and fitted my own same spec Bosch battery and the problem went away. The battery cost me less than the proposed inspection charge, without the uncertainty of it not being refunded. And much cheaper than a dealer supplied battery plus fitting I'm sure.

I didn't buy the car from BMW but Sandal Motors, who under consumer legislation are liable, and it's disappointing they sought to externalise warranty claims onto BMW and fob me off and impose upfront inspection charges if it looks like it might cost them something. Especially since I'd only had it for a day. The sales staff said they'd have intervened if I'd have rung them when they rang to try sell me another car, but I shouldn't have to get involved in internal battles. Last BMW I bought and I've not set foot in the place since. So not great for me, with hindsight I should have insisted on a better solution but sometimes we have things going on in our lives and just need the problem to go away.

Again servicing has been spot on and the after care also excellent. A real pleasure to deal with.

Awful experience this morning. Went in for my break pads doing and booked a courtesy car as i had plenty to do at work. The roads were so busy, took me ages to arrive, i had my driving license taken, car key taken, signed the forms on the ipad etc .... Only then to be told they didn't have any courtesy cars available!!!! A complete waste of a morning and unprofessional. They had plenty of opportunities to let me know about the availability of a courtesy car. Avoid at all costs!

Fantastic purchase and service from Sandal BMW Huddersfield and sales Executive Mia Kelly. I live in the south but wanted to purchase a BMW in stock in Huddersfield. Mia provided all the information , pictures and video. She collected me from the local railway station and when I arrived the car was in pristine condition. Sandal is a fabulous dealer and Mia was excellent. I would highly recommend Sandal BMW in Huddersfield.

We travelled all the way from London to buy a 2024 plate BMW i5 from Sandal Huddersfield BMW, dealing with a sales rep named Sam Gill. At first, Sam seemed convincing and professional — clearly eager to make the sale. He even sent us a video of the car, which conveniently showed no damages or faults. Based on this and his reassurances, we went ahead with the purchase.
However, on the day of collection, things started to unravel. In person, we noticed a small stone chip on the bonnet — not very visible under showroom lighting — but Sam dismissed it, saying it would "rub out easily." We trusted him. Unfortunately, that was a mistake.
On our long journey back to London, more issues became apparent. There were multiple stone chips on the windows and windscreen, and we later discovered a dent in the bonnet where the original chip was. None of this was disclosed beforehand, nor was it visible in the video Sam sent or in the showroom where the car was due to the lightings etc. Given that we live 5–6 hours away, returning the car to Huddersfield wasn’t practical.
We called and emailed repeatedly, only to be met with rude and dismissive responses from Sam and his managers. Not only did they refuse to take any responsibility for these undisclosed issues, but they were also completely unwilling to offer any help or solutions. Their customer service post-sale has been shockingly poor.
To make matters worse — and this is a critical warning — the car was sold to us with non-run-flat tyres, despite the fact that BMW i5s (especially 2024 models) require run-flats. These standard tyres are completely inappropriate for the vehicle and have already proven unreliable, making us question the safety of their practices. It feels like they cut corners to save money, at the customer’s expense.
We are extremely disappointed with Sandal BMW Huddersfield. If you're considering buying a vehicle from them — especially from a distance — be warned. The experience has been frustrating, stressful, and expensive.
Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere. Absolutely AVOID at all costs.

Other then Sandal Huddersfield assuming I'm some dodgy guy possibly involved in money laundering my experience with them was decent. It was funny the sales rep try to explain how some people can be very dodgy. Anyway once they had established I wasn't dodgy they was happy to do business with me. The car was nicely prepared and the collection was pleasant.

Only issue we had is the car is making a slight creaking noise which you can hear when the radio is off. The car went back to get it checked and they fobbed my sister off. I got a call from Sandal asking how it went and I told them you haven't checked it properly. I was told I will get a call back from the engineer/mechanic which I never got. I've not had time to pay a visit to Sandal huddersfield. But I will drop by. Other then this small issue it's all been good.

Very disappointed with the service provided.
Sandal took absolutely no responsibility for damage caused to my vehicle and treated me as if I was being dishonest.
I will never use sandal bmw again.
I will advise all my friends and family to avoid this dealership.

We have been with BMW (Huddersfield) for 5 years. They have always been kind, fair, friendly and super helpful, even with advice now that the time has come to sell our old-ish car.

Sometimes a little pricey compared to other garages but they more than make up for this with trustworthiness.

We recently came in to look at an electric BMW after having a negative experience going to the local Mercedes garage. I have an AClass already and we were looking for an SUV electric car. As the experience at Mercedes was poor we came to BMW with no expectations. Georgia even though it was only her second day, provided 5star service. She took us out on a test drive, was knowledgeable, friendly and approachable and recommend a lovely IX1 in storm bay. We are due to collect on June and look forward to going back into the showroom to receive our new car. Georgia is an asset to your company for sure, having moved all the way from Essex to start a new life in West Yorkshire, she knew her stuff. Excellent
