Protyre Autocare - Taunton Arvostelua 

We took our discovery to the Taunton branch and they were brilliant. Clear communication, friendly and helpful. Plus it’s so clean and tidy there. I felt welcome as soon as we arrived. When the had any questions or recommendations they called and let us know and there was no pressure, just helpful advice. I will definitely be going back there and recommending them. We have been to many different Protyre and they are by far the best!! Thank you for a great service

Having used Protyre Taunton several times before for repairs, tyres, and MOT on several vehicles I've found their service to be very good; easy on line or over the phone, prompt, reasonably priced, comfortable waiting room with good facilities, and helpful knowledgeable staff. I've recommended them to others.

Greeted on arrival, premises clear and tidy. Appointment time met with quick efficient service.

Open, honest and reliable. And cost effective too. The best place for tyres around. Would highly recommend their services.

Great customer service

I ordered two tyres online on 13th February and booked fitting for 8:30am on 21st February. I arrived on time, left my car with them and went for breakfast. When I returned, I was told they couldn’t do the job because they only had one tyre in stock.

No one had checked the order. No one had checked the stock. No one had called me to warn me there was a problem.

To be fair, the staff member that day remained professional and apologised. I reluctantly agreed to rebook for Saturday 28th at 3:30pm.

Before leaving home the second time, I assumed they would have learned from the first mistake. Apparently not.

I arrived at 3:30pm and asked them to confirm the tyres were there. I was then told — unbelievably — that they again only had ONE tyre.

Once again, no phone call. No warning. No basic courtesy to save me a wasted journey.

This time the attitude was completely different. The staff member became defensive and borderline aggressive, stating “it’s a company problem, not mine.” When I pointed out that he represents the company, he showed no interest in taking responsibility. I was told “I didn’t agree to call you” and “I wasn’t here last week,” as though that somehow excuses the complete lack of organisation.

At no point did anyone take ownership of the mistake. At no point did anyone appear to care that they had now wasted my time twice.

Why was the order not checked when it came in?
Why was stock not verified before confirming the booking?
Why was I not called — on either occasion — to prevent a completely avoidable wasted journey?

This is basic customer service.

I’ve now requested a refund because I have absolutely no confidence that, if I booked again, the same thing wouldn’t happen for a third time.

If you value your time and expect even minimal levels of organisation and accountability, I would strongly recommend going elsewhere. I certainly will be — and I’ll be sharing this experience whenever anyone asks me for tyre shop recommendations.

Massive choice of tyres for my car at great prices. Easy to book a fitting time that's convenient. Friendly knowledgeable staff.

Pro-tyre has been my 'go to' garage for around 9 years now. The staff I have dealt with have always been super helpful especially in my (more than one) emergencies. I find them always fair and polite. Explaining clearly any issues and recommending local garages where it can't be fixed on site.

My car was in for its first MOT which on an electric vehicle only took 15 mins, after waiting a further half an hour I queried Whst was happening and my car magically appeared
£40 for 15 mins work !

The directional tyre was fitted the wrong way round, with "inside" visible on the tyre wall. When I spotted this 10 days later I called to arrange refitting and was told by the centre this would need to be at a time convenient to them rather than me. I expected to be told to bring it in the next day for prompt rectification, so very unimpressed.

Great service kept me informed with the van felled mot .done the repairs in a couple of days new mot for another year. Thank you

Easy to book online , fast and efficient, friendly staff.

Misdiagnosed my issue, leading to repair delays and significant and unnecessary cost, including a hire car.

Empathetic to my issue and friendly staff but the car had been in for a service and MOT and repair investigation and critical safety issues were missed such as failed engine mounts.

Communication was then poor whilst I was stuck without a car, I was ignored so I had to keep calling for updates and when I called I repeatedly couldn’t get through. On the day I was told my car would be returned, when I spoke to a member of staff for an update they said: “I don’t know, I’m not dealing with it.” When I asked them to get in touch with the manager who was, I was rudely told: “I can’t he’s in a meeting all day, call back tomorrow”. The correct course of action would be to find a member of staff who was clued up on my vehicle or get in touch with the manager and get an update, regardless of whether they were in a meeting or not and not rudely palm me off.

Updated: had a very professional apology from the manager at Taunton, I was impressed to receive a quick response and also an update on how they plan to improve their communication for future customers.
