Complete waste of time!
Had my vehicle booked in this morning, turned up early, went into reception where I was told that I had no booking and was then asked if I was in the right place. I told told him that I was and gave him the name of the person, with which the booking had been made. The guy then apologised and asked if I could bring the vehicle back at 12pm, which I did…… Only for him to look at the vehicle, confirm what I had already told him was wrong with it, and then suggest I do it myself because he didn’t have any free mechanics???? If you didn’t have any free mechanics then why book me at all?
Stoddarts used to be good….. good managers and good mechanics that went out of their way to help…… Todays treatment from the smarmy imbecile on the desk, has shown that to be a thing of the past.

Even though this branch has staffing issues at the moment, the work was done in the allotted time frame and at a price that I thought was fair. The staff were polite and professional, and even worked 15 minutes after the branch was due to close for the day to make sure everything was as it should be. Please pass on my thanks.

Went to the garage for mot,was behind on mot,my car failed,asked how much for the work to be done.said will look into it.and call me back.they never did.went into to garage bout it.ezplaind 1 of the part I didn't need was another part.and said sorry,not good enough.car off the road until I can get the part and get it done.said would give free mot,they need a someone on the desk.not the ppl who are working on cars.would never use the garage again.also expensive

Paid for a gold service, aircon regas and MOT… my TPS light came on just before going in for servicing, so I thought that’s fine as they should sort that out as part of the service, I got my car back and the light was still on, it’s even mentioned on the MOT cert! Took it to the local Asda to use air compressor and the tyre pressure was indeed low, so I inflated it to the required amount and reset the TPS myself. I went back to Protyres on the Monday and asked for a print out of the service check sheet, which despite asking for I hadn’t received on the Friday, and I also asked if tyre pressure should have been done and the guy behind the counter said yes it should have. I explained that it wasn’t and he looked bemused like it was nothing to worry about.
In my opinion, if they didn’t do something as simple and routine as tyre pressures, even when the warning light is on, for a top level gold service then what else has been missed?? How am I supposed to have faith that the air filters, oil filter etc has been checked or changed if necessary? After spending the best part of £400 on all of this I expected far better. It’s a tyre fitting shop as well mind!
This is the third time I’ve taken my car here for servicing, the only difference this time is I booked it in myself under my name instead of my husband booking it in under his name. As a female I’ve been wary about garages after being ripped off in the past, so my husband has kindly sorted it previously - as the other services were good, I trusted them enough to book it myself this time. So I’m very disappointed that on this occasion the level of customer service wasn’t up to the previous standard. Lesson learned - I’ll book it in under a male name and it should be done properly! Or maybe I’ll just take it elsewhere for servicing in future.
