I purchased a 1200 watt solar plug and play met all the requirements to use, NIPSCO being corporate pirates, has turned my electricity off 3 times stating my equipment which is certified doesn’t meet their regulations which is complete shit. They simply don’t want customers generating their own electricity. I wrote to the Governor and Iurc waiting for a response. This is America yet corporations in Indiana control every aspect of people’s lives.

Consistent Outages - to quantify is difficult since I lose count - usually a few times each month - but still pay my high bills. It's comical actually - the neighbors are frustrated and look forward to adding to the investigation. Of all the vendors within all my life - ranked #1 as the overall worst. If there was another option and it was twice the cost - I would not hesitate for a minute.

Crews taking so long in Gary,In. Company doesna better job elsewhere and you know Gary will.see more.price hikes from this company. The guys are doing their best but management is.more.about profit and very slow in helping the folks of gary. This storm was bad but it seems this company has never taken any preparation seriously.

My experience is I have family who lives in Gary Indiana that is without power. They have been without power also with the temperature being 80s 90s relentless heat and the lights from a terrible tragedy. Storm still are not back on it. There’s a lot when you try to get a job and some of these companies who don’t wanna hire you because of the content of your character yet they act like they don’t have enough people to help get the lights on. This comes just after you pay a high light bill that is unusually higher than normal. Now you’ve emptied your savings in your refrigerator with no food and you have to stand in a long line of people to eat. This is inhumane! Free Gary, Indiana, where Michael Jackson Jackson is from!

I am a dialysis patient I have not had power in 6 days now it is extremely hot all of my food went bad they are a poor poor company but had a billion dollar profit last year

We lost power due to derecho 8.11.26 had power restored that Wednesday for 2.5 hrs then it turned off. 8.16.26 and we don't have power still. Yet for my 927 sq foot, 2 bed 1 bath home, my bill was $634 last month. I hate NIPSCO and planning to leave NWI entirely soon mainly due to their price gauging. We don't have a pool, nothing that would cause such a bill, just them being thieves.

NIPSCO is the biggest scam company on the planet. Sure they "provide" electricity and natural gas... but DO THEY REALLY? Or do they BUY electricity from out of State and turn around to sell it. Energy cannot be created or destroyed. And here they are charging outrageous prices like money is meaningless to people.

Nipsco is a piece of work! I'd use other language but you know. I live in a 2 bedroom 1 bath home and Nipsco charges me $300 or more each month! In January I received a bill for $789!!!!! With a $350 delivery fee!!!! I hate Nipsco so much and it's not fair we are forced to use them Monopolies arent suppose to exist but many do! There are so many shitty things I could keep saying about Nipsco and The Indiana Regulatory Commision will take your complaint and apparently not help either! NIPSCO STEALS OUR MONEY AND I WOULD HONESTLY GIVE 0 STARS!!!

This company does work on private property, damages property and leaves correction to property owner. Multi billion dollar company can surely afford landscaping refurbish from their heavy trucks leaving inundation on wet grass. Charging customers what they do and then leaving them with cost after job site work is cruel and bad customer service.

....A criminal utility company that bribes Indiana state employees, including governor "Braun", with millions of dollars.
...NIPSCO owns the Indiana utility regulatory commission, which is supposed to protect the public against criminal utility companies like NIPSCO, but instead receives millions in bribes every year!
...Protesting does nothing .......The state employees have to be removed , along with the IURC.
....The utility companies must be owned by the public, or this organized crime will continue!

If I could rate 0 stars I would have!! NIPSCO is price gauging because they are the only company who services our area! They are taking advantage of their customers and there needs to be change!! People cannot afford to keep their families warm in freezing temperatures and this is absolutely RIDICULOUS!! Something needs to be done - Starke County, IN

NIPSCO is charging absorbent charges for delivery fees. NIPSCO has the highest gas/electric charge rate in indiana. Many of us have no choices of who we get our gas/electric from. They are taking advantage of the citizens here in indiana. We shouldn't be taking on this cost. It's just not right!

Expensive!! The rates are insane

I am writing to demand immediate attention to the drastic and unjustified 48% increase in NIPSCO gas and electric rates. This increase is causing severe financial harm to families across our community and must be addressed without delay.

My household’s utility bill for only two months is now over $1,800. This is not a minor inconvenience — it is a crisis. No family should be expected to absorb increases of this magnitude simply to maintain basic utilities like heat and electricity. These services are essential, and the current rates are placing residents in an impossible position: pay the bill or risk losing basic necessities.

This level of increase is unacceptable, especially in a time when wages have not kept pace with inflation and many families are already stretched to their limits. If this continues, more households will face utility shutoffs, debt, or housing instability. This is not sustainable, and it is not fair.

I am asking you, to take immediate action to:

Demand a full review of NIPSCO’s rate increases
Push for transparency and public accountability
Support emergency consumer protections or relief programs
Oppose any further rate hikes until residents can reasonably afford service

Silence or delay on this issue will directly harm us. We are counting on leadership to ensure that essential utilities remain affordable and accessible for the people they serve.

Please help us resolve this matter.

We r tired of them overcharging on delivery fees and taking advantage of customer because they know we have no where else to go. Bit we can't keep paying these prices already dipping into savings just to pay our bill so we won't be left in the cold .

I would give 0 stars if I could. This company, NIPSCO, is overcharging customers and making it to where people cannot afford to heat their homes and have to choose between food or heat and electricity or choose medication or heat and electricity. That is not right.
