I’ve been so impressed with My Community Bank from start to finish. The application process was clear, straightforward, and far less stressful than with many other lenders I’ve dealt with in the past. Communication was excellent throughout — every step was explained clearly, and any questions I had were answered quickly and professionally.

What really stood out was how personal the experience felt. I was treated like a valued member, not just an account number. It’s refreshing to deal with a bank that puts people first and lives up to its name as a community bank.

The rates were very competitive, and everything was handled promptly and transparently. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend My Community Bank to anyone looking for ethical, professional, and genuinely customer-focused banking.

You really have to log in regularly to keep an eye on your account. The first time I transferred funds, it took over two months for the transfer to reflect in the account. I had to call them to fix it and backdate the interest.

Two weeks ago, my fixed deposit matured. I called because I didn't understand the interest that was paid. I was told someone from the finance team would get back to me, but no one ever did. I called several times, and each time I was told someone would respond in two working days. I never got a call back. I asked to speak to a manager, and got the same line: "two working days." I finally got tired and closed the account. Let's see if I get paid in two working days as they said.

My fixed savings account matured on Tuesday 27 May 2025 . Prior to this I had received an email advising me that the monies would be paid into my nominated bank account , as I had requested , within 2 working days thereafter . By Thursday , I had probably checked my bank account 25 times , looking for the monies . They weren’t there . Rang this morning first thing and was told by the Customer representative that he would send an “ urgent request” to the Finance team to get these monies paid to me . So far , no monies have landed .
In this day and age , it is unacceptable not to pay out monies when they are owed . I had made commitments for this money on the basis that it would be in my account within 2 working days of maturity ( why it can’t be sent on the day of maturity , as Atom , for example do , bamboozles me . )
I can’t be doing with this “ messing about” trying to get paid out . There is plenty of choice out there .
Update 3.50pm . Almost 8 hours after I spoke to them and thus far , no monies have been received into my bank . No email , no phone call , no apology . Having worked in construction , there was a saying that people remember how you finished a job . In this case , it has been very , very poor . One less customer going forward .
Update 5.10pm - no monies yet received despite another email and the response from the Complaints department below . If a company spent more time preventing poor reviews on social media , rather than trying to retrospectively respond , then surely that is a better way forward ?
Update , Monday 2 June 2025 . Chased up again by telephone call and email . Monies arrived later this morning . I am not happy about how Community Bank have acted and have made an official complaint .

Quick and easy application.

Easy to apply loan, particularly if you have previous loans. I think, the electronic system innovates the process.

Worse experience. The support team never responds. I sent so many emails. No reply at all. Very rude of them. Would not recommend anyone. They are loan sharks.

Quick an simple hassle free. Recommend to family an friends

Waste of time. I had a lot of trouble with linked accounts and trying to move money into this account. Then, the customer service team didn't open it to allow money to be transferred in. I was then given 2 and half days to transfer the money in (which was quite a lot, so doing it in parts). The account was then closed as I had taken longer than 7 days. Really upset and disappointed as it can't be reopen, interest rates have now gone down. I have spent hours of my life and probably lost about £50 on interest over the couple of week and 1 year interest. Don't often negative review things, but this is not ok and wasn't my fault

I will recommend My Community Bank to anyone who wants a loan as it was easy and quick for me to apply and approved in just a few minutes which I need for my daughter’s tuition fees in university. God is Good!
