Very disappointed. Unable to 'read messages unless you are a subscriber' unable to send a message unless you are a subscriber

It would have been better to make this clear at the start instead of my wasted time to fill out a profile

And no, £71 is really not acceptable

I had only been on the site a week and found my match! The messaging process is simple and clear compared to the other sites I have used. It's easy to complete the profile page. The Muddy versus Townie application rating is really good. My own experience was textbook, I messaged him, he messaged back the following day, then the messages got longer, day 3 we exchanged phone numbers, then chatted for hours for 3 evenings running, then he suggested a day date to meet for coffee, the date lasted all day, we knew there was no doubt about a second date. It's been incredible we have totally and utterly fallen in love with each other. Can I just advise fellow MuddyMatches users, don't always rely on profile photos, some people are not photogenic, my match was a 100% better looking in real life. I'm glad I took a chance.

The site was easy to use and excellent feedback from the site as to who was visiting my profile and messaging me etc. Found my muddy match now so happy , so thanks to this site.

Two years ago after an end of a traumatic relationship I had no intention of finding something serious but wanted to engage with fellow rural / farming / out door individuals. Within a few days matches appeared with those like-minded thinkers. A trusted site, easy to use, excellent matching services. Not long after signing up I found my soul mate with an incredibly similar story to my own. Two years on, one farm now sold, livestock and equipment transported to the other farm and life is the best its been for years. Lots of fun days out, new experiences and plenty of laughs, all thanks to you guys. When I first stumbled across the site everyone laughed at me but it works, simple as that.....exceeded my expectations and restored my faith in romance and believing that your soul mate is out there somewhere.

Disappointed and concerned. Takes a lot of courage to join dating site, and you would like to think they have your back. Not this site. Man messaged me and persisted to even though it was early days, basically 3 days. I even made him aware I would be busy for few days and apologised in advance for this. No he messages very next day asking why not replied!!! Very intense.

I decided to “end” communications with him quite clear this man had “controlling” instinct. I did it politely and did not expect the nasty message back!!! Reported to Muddy Matches Customer services. They in my book could not care!!!! Refunded me fine but they should have removed the gentleman from the site!!!

I genuinely think that Muddy Matches is the best dating site for anyone genuinely looking for love with a special someone who likes the outdoors.

I have used Muddy Matches on 2 occasions now and have met some wonderful people, it feels a lot less overwhelming then the very well known dating sites.

Very pleased to report that I have met a wonderful man on Muddy Matches and we can see a very bright & happy future together….thank you MM!

I signed up for muddy matches on 20 th May for 1 month. Whenever I logged on after that date it stated I was a free member which means men can contact me but I can’t contact them. However muddy matches are still taking £25 a month from my credit card!!!! I will reclaim this from my cc company. When I cancelled my subscription a message came up stating my auto renew has been cancelled and your subscription will expire on 1st Jan 1970!!!!! I am very concerned about this site and will see next week if yet another £25 had come off my CC.

Really good dating site, genuine people and more quality over quantity. Met my match on here and 4 weeks in going strong.

Refusing to give me a refund.
I had made every attempt to cancel my renewal but due to what I think is a possible glitch in the system, I had been debited £25 for a month’s subscription.

I’ve sent them a very polite email explaining my situation and the fact I had tried to attempt to cancel the subscription already.

I had received a rather snotty message victimising me and telling me I’ve not read the T&C’s and because I hadn’t cancelled the subscription (when I had tried to).

I feel very let down by their customer service the way they spoke to me and made me feel.

I will not pay this site a penny more out my pocket.

I met my fiancé on here nearly five years ago so I can’t really give a better recommendation than that!

It's a great idea but sadly just ends up coming across as a money making ploy.

This site's best feature is that it seems to attract genuinely interesting people with some decent profiles. I feel there could be more "vetting" of the profiles because they are frustratingly inconsistent on levels of detail. There really should be a minimum that is acceptable, but many are good.

However their biggest mistake is offering too much functionaily to free members, and also the option of paying a premium so that others can message you for free. The result? It seems that NO ONE pays the membership fee, as they all expect the "other person" to foot the bill. Almost every message I have sent is still marked as "unread" becuase nobody pays the membership fee which would enable them to read and respond. Removing the "premium" feature would weed out those who aren't really invested in trying to find a date, make it a lot more equal, and probably improve the quality of the profiles even more as a side effect. It would also make it a hell of a lot less depressing for the members who have stumped up the membership fee, only to find they are constantly trying to contact freeloaders.

This site needs to decide if it is a free service or a paid service as right now it is trying to be both and it just doesn't work.

I have siged up for a membership twice now but when this one expires I won't be coming back.

Joined muddy matches and tried to subscribe, I only wanted to purchase 1 month for £25, when I selected the month purchase option it asked me if I wanted to upgrade for an extra £9.99, there was two options; "upgrade" and "continue without premium" but you couldn't select the "continue with out premium" option, I then tried to purchase the 3 month, same thing happened but this time it it was automatically selecting the 6 month option, and then "asking" me if I want to upgrade for an extra £35.
I know this site is legit but, it seems like they're trying to scam you into spending more than you would like, has anyone else experienced this?

Could do with a few local men joining but eventually found Mr right!

It’s not a catalogue, not everyone will respond or even view you but……..nothing ventured nothing gained, you have to put some effort in and, as in life, gravitate towards the lightbulbs not the drains

I have met someone with same values, outdoors focussed, dog loving, Landy driving, clay shooting and I am very much looking forward to our life together

I’ve made new friends, male & female, and now met my partner so highly recommend Muddy Matches x

Useless site, so few people, another mistake I’ve made with my money, not a well monitored or maintained site, money for nothing for them.

Ok,where do i start.joined muddy matches a couple of years back on the encouragement of a friend who met someone on muddy matches!!.
proved to be good advice,as i met my soulmate and now fiance.

This site is great for meeting like minded people i joined on and off many years ago but met my now husband in 2010. We are celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary this August with our 2 children, family and friends. It was the best thing i did was joining this dating site, it took a while and met some lovely men on here but it paid off as i finally met my perfect countryman.

I should really write my review in sections - ok, bad & good. My first joining was unsuccessful and a little bit demoralising but it improved!
Firstly, I have never had any issues with payments, subscriptions or cancelling my account - the terms ARE well explained and not rocket science.
My first joining made me write a full, very in depth blurb about myself and although winked at and favourited a few times no one really floated my boat, so I got brave and made first contact - only to be told in a roundabout way that they were looking for someone with “less timber” - wow, thanks for that! That actually did so much harm to my self image (I’m 5’9 and a size 14!) that I left the site and decided I was better & safer if I remained single.
Jump a couple years later and I oddly decided to take another look to see what was out there, half hearted but joined for a month and actually chatted to a couple people, met one for a lovely walk but he wasn’t for me - no drama and we politely went our separate ways, another chatted for a couple of weeks made plans to meet and then I was ghosted - that’s just rude. At this point a rehash of my profile was needed, so I reduced it, got a bit blunt but also realistic - many winks followed but no one would message. You can’t start anything if you don’t try! Cue leaving the site again for a couple of months to regroup.
Joined again late January 2022 and received a message that had a different feel to it. We have chatted, met a few times for walks and food and enjoy each other’s company a lot - although very early days it would seem that patience has paid off and we will see where things go.
