I worked for PayPal/eBay for 15 years so feedback is an important mechanism to me.
This is weird as Model Hobbies seems to be getting two poles of reviews: great and terrible. Little in between.

I ordered a wooden boat model 10 days ago to the UAE. I got a bit worried a week into it and sent an email over the weekend. I got a response on Monday with a tracking number and the package arrives the same day, decently packaged.
So I got a good price, hard to find model, 10 days shipping London to Abu Dhabi, good customer support.

I’m obviously not the only one to get good service. Why is it so inconsistent?

CROOKS!! Never relies to emails! Does not suppoly goods paid for.

AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!

Not impressed I can see why as I am not the only one with poor service. Ordered an item they are very keenly priced said it would be sent quick ordered item from another model company at the same time it arrived and despite emailing them for tracking no response since despatch email. You will have no customers at this rate. This is my one and only order

I've had to raise the problem with PayPal in order to seek a resolution.

Have ordered model from them 27th July, never received model, and no Royal Mail tracking number, assuming model was never posted yet model is still listed on their website, therefore either false advertising or simply unable to post item out, have contacted them and to date 13th August no reply, as I work in Customer Service i expect an email response to explain yet so far nothing is this a deliberate as viewed there reviews on eBay this seems to be a common occurrence.

I ordered some model products from Model Hobbies twice in the last month. On both occasions the order arrived quickly and were well packed, with all items arriving in perfect condition. Their price is usually lower than the retail price so along with the quick delivery I recommend them and will certainly use them again.

Ordered a couple of kits to keep me occupied during lockdown; Emailed a query in, quickly answered.
Placed the order, arrived prompty, well packaged and by DPD (always please to see companies use decent couriers, rather than bottom feeders like Hermes)

Can't fault them for Price, service or delivery. Positive allround

There is something strange with this company. Twice i ordered same item. Twice nothing arrived. They produced a tracking number but that was for another item. I never checked so i ordered same item again. Nothing arrived but tracking number supplied. Our post office confirmed something wrong. I sent several messages with no response from them. I see a 68% negative reviews on Trust Pilot confirms my review.

These people are confidence tricksters! A nil star rating would have been better.

On 16 March, I ordered and paid for a plastic model kit by F-RSIN for delivery to Bulgaria. The same day, I received email confirmation that the order had been despatched. The message contained none of the usual details of how exactly the kit was to reach me -- by mail or courier service. It had no tracking number. Other mail order/online traders supply such details.

In view of the Covid-19 crisis which was developing at exactly that period in both Britain and Bulgaria, I let things be in the hope of conscientious order fulfilment.

Postal services between the UK and Bulgaria were indeed inactive for a time. By early June, however, I began receiving mail from the UK as usual. I ought to mention that both the Royal Mail and the Bulgarian Posts are excellent postal operators and I have never lost a single postal consignment between Britain and Bulgaria in over 24 years of residing in Sofia. (This, of course, assuming Model Hobbies used the postal route...)

On 9 June I wrote to Model Hobbies alerting them to the fact that the kit had not arrived in Bulgaria. No reply. On 11 June I re-sent the earlier mail and attempted to call Model Hobbies by telephone. No reply to the mail and the telephone stays put.

These people are nothing but thieves and confidence tricksters. Stay away!

I have instituted a PayPal dispute.

Note added in edit on 4 August: I have also reported Model Hobbies to the Trading Standards authorities in the UK.

Anyway, today PayPal advise me of a GBP 28.62 refund in my favour. Am happy, but all this could so easily have been avoided had Model Hobbies acted reasonably.

DO NOT BUY FROM MODEL HOBBIES UK !!! THEY ARE CONMEN !!!

I have bought from these guys a few times now, and everything turned up just as expected. On the one ocassion that something went wrong (an airfix kit arrived badly warped), I wasted days trying to get replacement parts from airfix (having seen the reviews here on trustpilot about poor customer service), who ultimately told me they couldn't help anyway. I finally sent an email to modelhobbies, and they couldn't have been more helpful (or fast). Within days I had a replacement sprue in my hands. Pretty good service if you ask me.

Terrible service. They never respond to emails and if there is something wrong with the delivery, they ignore you. They are never responsible for mistakes. 100% risky. I do not recommend it

Cannot Fault customer service, speed of delivery and communication.
All round excellent service, and a very good shop with excellent prices.

Ordered Saturday, then read reviews and thought what have I done!! Got e-mail updates ref process stages and text to say due to be delivered today-Wednesday. Parcel arrived at allocated time. All present and well packaged. Great service and excellent value, not sure why others have difficulties. Will use again.

Customer service is non existent, they never respond to messages on Ebay or emails, LIE about dispatching items and make getting a refund a nightmare.

Companies like this should not be allowed to trade, what Modelhobbies is doing is borderline fraudulent.

No option to give zero stars, so have to give one. Ordered a kit from these scammers, and had an email to confirm it had been despatched. A week later and still no item delivered, so gave them a few more days due to the current situation.
Anyway, 10 days later I sent an email, no reply, so sent another, no reply etc etc. Anyway, a month and a half later, no kit and still no reply to any emails.
Avaoid at all costs, they'll take your money and give you nothing. How they are still trading is a miracle.

I would not claim that they are scammers just plain incompetent and lack any sort of customer care. Orders I have placed with them have either not materialised or they have sent the wrong item. Do not expect a reply to any email you send I am just thankful that I ordered via Ebay and managed to secure refunds .

DO NOT BUY FROM HERE. I ordered some models and some paint. I was sent an automatic email telling me it had been dispatched and I have not received anything, they don't reply to emails either. luckily I was able to get a refund through my bank.

WARNING, Ordered a item, NEVER TURNED UP , NO REFUND, DESPITE MANY EMAILS NO REPLY FROM THEM, TOTAL SCAM COMPANY.

I ordered a kit and many other things to go with it and I received 1 email for confirmation that the order had been paid fo and another to say my order had been dispatched. However, I also received an email to say that one of the items I had ordered was out of stock which it should not have let me order however surprisingly compared to what I have heard from other reviews I received a full refund from them for the item. 2 days after the email saying the order had been dispatched I received my order. Everything was well packaged and some carbon fibre decals I ordered with the kit were not even bent or creased one bit. Just to clarify I live in the UK and I ordered through the website and all was good. The only complaint is that the stock should be updated more frequently. Great prices compared to other sites and I was frequently updated on what was happening my order and I received my order in 1 week. Everything was there so this was a big contrast to other reviews but honestly, I have no real complaints.

Once again superb service. Kit order placed 5th May, delivered 11th May. Free postage and best price (again!!) in UK. I do not understand negative reviews.
