MGM -- LUXOR RESORT.
Just returned from a week at the Luxor Resort in Las Vegas. The Hotel it self is looking a bit jaded and the suite we had in the East Tower was in need of some TLC as furniture was showing signs of wear and tear and age with most wooden furniture scratched and flaking. Also discovered that our room ( on the boulevard side of hotel ) seemed to have no glazing soundproofing and so we spent a couple of nights with very little sleep before we were transferred to the West Tower which is at the back and was a lot quieter although I think the hotel needs a soundproofing upgrade. A part from the room issue we also had a problem with items from Starbucks appearing on our bill and we are grateful to Josh for resolving these issues and the room change, although at final check out there were new items from Starbucks. We were not impressed with Starbucks staff attitude and we also found this attitude seem to extend to outlets outside the hotel. The buffet was over priced and not of a very good quality and I spoke to Cathy who was helpful and listen and hopefully passed on my constructive information but once bitten we never returned. However the staff and food at the Pyramid Cafe was excellent and we both felt it was the one place that had no changed over the 18 years we have been visiting Las Vegas, we also wish to thank two of our casino hostesses in Michelle and Eve who were an absolute delight to meet. Finally I tried hard to obtain an explanation of the resort fee charged which was $39.85 a night but was told it is compulsory for every room and consists of 4 things therefore making each item approx $10 a night. Firstly it is to allow wi-fi to be in the hotel although if you use one of their computer terminal you have to pay for that as well, secondly it is for the facilities of Pool,Gym and Spa and it is your responsibility to get the most out of these - the pool was closed but no refund, the Spa charges for all treatment so do not know why we had to pay and with two bum knees I could not use Gym but that was my hard luck. I asked that if my mentally and physically disabled grand daughter was in a room would they charge her as well and they said yes!!!. Thirdly it is for the opportunity to use their print service for your boarding passes so you need to have them printed once a day every day to make best use of this and fourthly it is for local phone calls ( I do not know anybody in Las Vegas ) and for toll free calls which by their nature are free anyway. I suggested they charge the people that use these facilities and not just everybody and was informed that they had tried but that those being charged objected to paying for what they were using whilst those that did not use them were not charged so they decided it was fairer to charge everybody ( go figure!!! ). Next time I will look for a hotel that does not have these unfair charges.

Great rooms
Great rooms, great service and very helpful & friendly casino staff. Loads to choose from in terms of food & drink, whether you want fast food or fine dining. Great location too, would recommend the whiskey bar for chilling out with a drink and people watching if you need a break from gambling.

Credit card "FRAUD" at Circus Circus Hotel in Las Vegas. My family and I spent 3 days and 2 nights at the Circus Circus Hotel in Las Vegas. On the second day I requested towels from the housekeeping staff (via the hotel telephone). About 15 minutes later a staff member called to confirm my towel request and stated that she worked at the front desk. While confirming my towel request she stated that the computers used to register the guest had crashed and that she needed me to provide to her my full registration information (i.e. address, home phone, credit card number, etc). I told her that it was strange to request this information over the phone and that I would physically walk to the registration desk and provide the information. She assured me that she was from the registration counter and that's why she knew about my telephonic towel request. Although I was very suspicious, I provided the information to her. I then waited about 15 minutes and called my bank. The bank informed me of a fraudulent charge that was made with my credit card within the last half hour. After removing the charge and closing my credit card account I informed the hotel management staff of the incident. I deduced that the (fraud) violator worked in housekeeping based upon the scenario of the incident. The hotel management didn't seem to care much about the credit card fraud and simply referred me to other managers to seek retribution. I highly recommend that you do not stay at the Circus Circus Hotel ... or if you do, be very careful that you do not become a victim of fraud.
Not the best hotel in Vegas
Not the best hotel in Vegas, but the nightlife is decent, because of Hakkassan. The lobby of the hotel is a bit old, outdated compared to other hotels. The pool and pool parties are cool. I would rate the experience between 3-4 stars, maybe, more towards 3.
Other hotels like Cosmopolitan, Venetian are simply much nicer.

The MGM is one of the busiest casinos on the strip and with this comes some challenges. Although I love staying/gambling here, there can be some lengthy waits at check-in. This, however, has never stopped me from coming back and the proximity to all the strip has to offer is unmatched. Highly recommend.

Had a great stay here a few weeks ago. I defenitly recommend you pick a name brand like MGM when picking a hotel in Las Vegas, trust me because you can get a great deal at another location but not the service or amenities.
