Approved Used is meaningless, Just Avoid. £2.5k repairs after 6 Months
We have had a Mazda CX5 Approved used for only 7 Months and now have to pay £2.5k to get it repaired for Wear and Tear! How can the car have been in a fit state to sell when after 5k miles it needs £2.5k work!
If you buy one (Dont) get it looked at by a mechanic to make sure it is in the state that they tell you its supposed to be in.
If you want to use the warranty its worthless as you have to pay upfront and then hope they will pay you back, spoiler they wont.

Avoid this dealership like the plague. I purchased a zero‑mile, brand‑new, unregistered Mazda CX‑60 Homura 2026 this afternoon, and within a few hours the car completely failed, displaying multiple system error messages. Immediately after leaving the dealership, the dashboard showed Engine Maintenance Mode. When I questioned it, the sales agent casually claimed it was because the car had been sitting in the showroom and that “a few hundred miles” of driving would make the warning disappear.
One hour later, the car produced several critical alerts: Hybrid System Failure and Engine Malfunction. When I contacted the sales team, they told me to call Mazda Rescue and Recovery because the dealership “was not responsible” for recovering a brand‑new car that had broken down within hours. Mazda Recovery then refused to attend because the dealership had not even registered the new vehicle with them.
I was forced to pay out of pocket to have the car transported home after it stopped in the middle of nowhere.
Because the car was financed through Mazda, I was informed that the PCH contract cannot be cancelled, and that I should simply rely on the six‑year warranty to fix a car that is not even five hours old. The dealership washed their hands of the situation the moment the sale was completed. They also claimed they had installed a new battery because the car had been sitting unused in the showroom — yet that turned out to be untrue as well.
I even had to remind them to return my £500 refundable deposit, and the keys they handed over were already scratched.
This entire experience has been highly unprofessional.

Hostile customer service
This review follows my visit to a Mazda dealer where I had a diagnostic check done on my 66 plate Mazda 6, 2.2 Skyactiv. The red warning light for oil had come on and I was seeking expert advice on what to do next. When the service adviser phoned me to collect the car they told me that there was excessive carbon detected near the inlet manifold and that there were two possible solutions. The first was to try and clean out the carbon and change a pump which would cost around £1200. When I asked if this would sort the problem I was told that it might not and that doing the same again would cost another £1200. The other possible solution was to strip the engine to further investigate the problem and the cost of this would depend on what was found. All of this came as a complete surprise to me as the vehicle had been fully serviced thought its life and now it seemed to me that I had a vehicle that was in terminal decline. I had no idea how to choose between these options and so I asked if when I came to collect the vehicle I could speak with one of the managers.
I wanted to know two things. Firstly I wanted to know if this make and model with its age and mileage was prone to the problems that had been detected. I figured that an expert view would help me to decide next steps. I thought that if I could better understand if the make and model was prone to excessive carbon build up it would help in determining whether to pursue option 1 or option 2, or worse still, simply scrap the vehicle because it was going to cost me more to fix it that it was worth. When I put my questions to the service manager they clearly did not like my questions and just got angry with me and we never got to option 2. Because of their anger I asked to speak to someone more senior but this was the most senior person on duty that day. Having been subjected to this unnecessary anger I was left without the advice I had sought to help in my decision making.
Up until this point I had no complaints with the vehicle but since this meeting I have come to learn from various sources that this vehicle is indeed prone to carbon build. I am now left with a car that I can’t use, because the red oil warning light is on, and the help I had sought through experts at Mazda has not been forthcoming. I would not buy another Mazda because, in my experience, the brand is not trustworthy and the customer care I received was hostile and abysmal.
My advice to Mazda is to review how they train and support their staff regarding customer care. And get in touch with me to provide me with some expert advice on what to do next. Thankyou
Dangerous, disorganised and repeatedly lied to – shocking breakdown support
My experience with Mazda’s breakdown service has been genuinely appalling. Not only was the service slow and disorganised, but I was continuously given incorrect information, promised things that never happened, and critical details I provided were not passed on.
During my first breakdown, I was left in extreme heat for over 4 hours (despite being advised of a 90 minute recovery time) repeatedly calling Mazda because no one seemed to know what was happening. I spoke to around ten different advisers, all giving conflicting information, and I had to repeat my situation every time because no notes were taken.
I was promised a taxi that was arranged after I was already in the recovery truck. I was promised a courtesy car “would be arranged” with ease on Monday morning, only to be told on Monday morning that none were available.
The diagnosis I received was completely inconsistent with the fault I reported. Unsurprisingly, the same critical EV malfunction happened again days later.
The second breakdown was handled just as badly. I was told recovery would be arranged for 7:30am and that I’d get an 8am call about a courtesy car. Neither happened.
I have now discovered that information I gave Mazda was not passed on at all. I told them clearly that, because I had to abandon the vehicle, the keys would be left at reception of the business. When I called the recovery company directly, they confirmed they had not been told this, and they hadn’t even been given the correct location — only the road name, not the company site.
This isn’t a one‑off mistake. It’s a pattern of misinformation, broken promises, and complete lack of communication. As of right now, I'm still awaiting recovery - almost 4 hours after it was promised.
I’ve been left unsafe twice, lied to repeatedly, and treated as though I was an inconvenience. The staff could not care less whatsoever and not a single apology has been offered. I’ve completely lost confidence in Mazda’s breakdown service.
If I could give zero stars I would. Absolutely terrible, would never get a Mazda again.
Mazda: A Company So Useless It Should Come With a Warning Label
Mazda has shown us a level of incompetence we didn’t think a major company could reach. The entire ordeal has been a mess of mixed messages, empty promises, and staff who sound like they’d rather be anywhere else than dealing with the customers they’ve left stranded.
Trying to get a straight answer out of anyone has been impossible. Every call brings a new version of events, none of which match, and all of which fall apart the moment you question them. We’ve been handed timelines that evaporated, excuses that made no sense, and “updates” that were nothing more than filler to get us off the phone.
At one point, we had to walk away from the car altogether because nobody turned up, nobody knew why, and nobody seemed remotely bothered. The vehicle is still sitting exactly where it was abandoned, and the hire car we were supposedly “sorted for” is still nowhere to be seen. Trying to escalate the situation is laughable — apparently the entire management team is permanently unavailable.
The attitude from customer service is the final insult. The tone alone makes it clear they don’t care, they’re not listening, and they’d prefer we just stopped calling altogether. It’s genuinely shocking how little regard they have for the people relying on them.
This whole experience has been a slow-motion disaster, and once this nightmare is finally over, we’ll be done with Mazda for good. No one deserves to be treated like this.
Poor experience in car service
I had my car serviced at Eden Mazda in Reading for several years already with the same dealer, however, the quality of service is getting poor.
There is engine oil spilt and left under the bonnet that left oil marks in my drive way as literally can still see oil left over and stains under the chassis.
Also, car isn't washed twice in the last 2 services but listed as an item in the invoice.
Looks nice but don’t expect them to last
I had a 14 plate diesel Mazda 6 which looked classy and aged well. The turbo died after only 91k miles. For a diesel, I was expecting it to last much longer which was one of the main reasons I bought it.
Infotainment system was generally ok but slow to download phone contacts.
I would AVOID Mazda if you’re expecting any type of engine longevity and have heard from several drivers
Both in uk and beyond that they get to between 8-12 years old then give up.
Even tho they look nice I would do yourself a favour and pass Mazda by if you’re looking for a car
So I bought a CX-60 from the Silverlink…
So I bought a CX-60 from the Silverlink Stoneacre Mazda (north east England) once the sale is done your bombarded with phone calls a day or so later asking you take out this policy take out that policy blah blah blah … I did however take out the Tyre and Brake policy where you can claim a new tyre every year or 2 tyres a year but can’t claim the next year … so MOT time came and all my tyres were 3.6 and Mazda recommended I replace the tyres. A Ha! I’ve got a tyre replacement plan … “no sorry you can’t claim as your tyres aren’t down to 2mm” which your not told about at time of purchase, so I accepted that even though Mazda said my tyres weren’t at a safe level I said I’ll wait until I can claim on my plan , so anyway that time came around so put my car In for the “check” they had to take photos of the tyre, I asked if it could be changed on the day but … No… they have to wait to hear back from whoever once they’ve reviewed the photo. Here’s where my real annoyance starts because it’s not the first time this has happened… I was told on the Friday that someone would ring me to get me booked back in for the tyre change … no one rang , Monday came round and went nobody rang, Tuesday come to 1500 hrs I decided to ring them to get the state of play but was told they’re busy and someone will ring by the end of the day …. Nobody rang … I’ve then had to ring back again at 1300hrs on the Wednesday because nobody rang me back. So I had to explain everything again to the person on the phone they asked if I could leave the car all day to my reply being “all day? It’s only to change 1 tyre” I said no and I asked for a sit and wait appointment as it’s only to change 1 tyre should take 10 minutes max soonest sit and wait appointment would be the 2nd of August (today being 17th June) again I said that’s ridiculous, I was offered a Courtesy car for an all day appointment but the soonest that could be was 2nd July, so they’re having to waste a courtesy car on me when someone else could use it who actually need it for the sake of a 10 min job … I honestly think since Hodgson’s sold out to Stoneacre the place has gone backwards massively and sad to say this will be my last Mazda which is a shame as some of the staff there are great, like Trev, Neil and Anthony but as a whole once they’ve got your money I feel like the customer care just isn’t really there from certain parts of the company.
3 weeks to change a tyre which Mazda deem unsafe
Update: (2/7/26)Turns out they’re experiencing a turn over of staff which has complicated things while the new staff catch up with the way things work and the new staff in appear to be on the ball … I’ve upped my start rating because just with simple communication and ringing back to update on lengthy repairs (which seem to be made unnecessarily long due to cover underwriters waiting to accept claims) the staff (Ian, Laura and the ever trusty Anthony) have gone above and beyond to sort out my problems.

After buying my car a Mazda CX5 from Eden Motor Group Newbury I have to write to say that Mazda UK and the dealers who represent them are cut from the same cloth poor service poorly presented cars and worthless corporate answers from Mazda UK
I know it is easy to criticise when something does not go right but the sheer number of dissatisfied customers should ring alarm bells but I expect not
I have only had my Mazda a month but will not buy another
the Chinese car companies will put the likes of Mazda UK out of business soon enough but like every British car business will bury their heads in the sand until it’s to late
POOR SERVICE POOR COMPANY POOR MANAGERS POOR BUSINESS HANG YOUR HEADS IN SHAME
PROVE ME WRONG AND I WILL CHANGE MY REVIEW
OH I FORGOT I AM JUST A CUSTOMER WHO DOESN’T MATTER
Once again absolutely fantastic service…
Once again absolutely fantastic service from their service department. In for an MOT they dropped me off at home communicated with me whilst my car was there, then picked me up when finished. Lovely people Samantha is tops and the car wash guys are just wonderful.
Poor response.
Both my dealer and I have contacted Mazda customer service several times trying to rectify missing digital service entries. Initial reply from Mazda confirming problem would corrected within 24 hours. Problem remains and Mazda do not respond to further emails.
Not answering the phone calls.
Have tried to ring a number of times to parts from three different dealership of Mazda on different days and can not get intouch with them not answering the calls. Dealers - Dewsbury - York - Doncaster
I had a very disappointing and…
I had a very disappointing and concerning experience with the dealership at 299–307 Collier Row Lane, Romford regarding a reserved Mazda CX-5 (2.0 e-Skyactiv G MHEV Takumi).
After placing a reservation, I initially spoke with a salesperson named Cameron. He informed me that I could collect the car by 3:00 PM on Saturday. However, this was already difficult as I was travelling from Newcastle, and I clearly explained that due to distance and possible traffic, I could not guarantee arrival by that exact time but would do my best. Despite this, he offered no flexibility.
What made the situation worse was the complete contradiction from the manager, Kam Shokar. He stated that the car would not even be ready before 1:00 PM and that I would receive a call after 1:00 PM. This raised serious concerns, as this timing aligns with the expiration of my reservation, suggesting the possibility that the delay was intentional.
I made multiple attempts to contact the dealership to extend the reservation and avoid losing the car unfairly. Each time, my calls were redirected to the manager. Instead of resolving the issue, I was told directly: “We are not selling the car to you. This is our car and we decide who to sell it to.” This was extremely unprofessional, especially considering I had already reserved the vehicle and was actively trying to complete the purchase.
Additionally, communication throughout was poor. Promised callbacks never happened, and the attitude became noticeably dismissive once I confirmed I intended to pay in full rather than finance the car.
Overall, the experience lacked transparency, consistency, and basic customer respect. The conflicting information, refusal to extend the reservation, and outright denial of sale despite a valid reservation give the impression that the car may have been redirected to another buyer under unclear circumstances.
I would strongly advise others to proceed with caution and ensure all agreements are clearly documented. Unfortunately, this experience did not reflect fair or professional business practices.
Lovely looking car Mazda CX 60 Homura…
Lovely looking car Mazda CX 60 Homura hybrid, but the ride is hard, in 18 months I have had to return it to the garage 9 times for recalls 4, the rest faults. The latest which has taken 5 months and still not resolved is with regard to charging, both plug in and regenerative braking. A part took two months to arrive, when fitted it did not resolve the problem. Now waiting for another part.
Today I visited Mazda (Perrys) in Canterbury.
Today I visited Mazda (Perrys) in Canterbury to have my car serviced as has been the case for many years now. Today as has always been the case everyone was polite, professional and supportive. However, with regards to my visit today I would like to make special mention of a lady called Isabella who was/is one of the management team. Whilst I waited for my car I sat at a table in from of Isabella's workspace and could hear her talking in the background whilst reading my book. With regards to what I could hear as a former manager myself I was greatly impressed by Isabella's style of management which I would describe as being firm when necessary but also caring, person centred and humanistic. It was clear to me that Isabell when speaking to members of staff she was clearly reflecting a biopsychosocial approach. that being giving consideration to, who ever she was speaking with, their physical, psychological and social needs, wishes and a general good understanding of appropriate communication. Isabella was professional whilst getting her message across in a sensitive manner. Further when I spoke to Isabella with a question she stood up to greet me, answered my question in friendly manner and also most important she smiled. As indicated above having been a manager myself as well as having lectured on positive and effective management it is my opinion that Isabella showed the skills and abilities of an excellent manager and leader. In saying the above it is my hope that it will serve to facilitate her future with Mazda.
Mazda UK refuses to help customers whose time they have abused
Mazda UK takes no responsibility for its own accredited dealerships and dismisses customer complaints without any attempt at resolution.
I experienced a complete failure of both process and accountability involving an official Mazda dealership — followed by a wholly inadequate response from Mazda UK.
I booked a service at Croydon Mazda via Mazda’s official online system for 8:30am on Saturday, 7 March 2026. I received both a confirmation email at the time of booking and a reminder email two days before my “service”, each clearly stating that my booking was confirmed.
On that basis, I drove approximately 30 minutes to the dealership before 8am on a weekend.
Upon arrival, I was told there was no booking on the system. Despite producing both confirmation and reminder emails, I was informed that an online booking is merely an “application” for a booking and that I should have phoned — a position that directly contradicts Mazda’s own written communications and requires me to just intuitively know that despite being given the option to bool online, a phone call is supposedly necessary.
I was then told to leave and rebook, with the next available slot being two months later than my intended (and confirmed) booking.
After escalating this to Mazda UK, the response was deeply unsatisfactory. So-called “customer service” at Mazda UK:
• Refused to accept any responsibility for the failure
• Offered no compensation or meaningful remedy
• Made no attempt to secure an alternative booking
• Simply redirected me back to the same dealership
Mazda UK relies on its dealership network to deliver its brand experience, promotes those dealerships on its own platform, and provides the booking infrastructure — yet disclaims all responsibility when that system fails.
This is not a credible position, and one that should cause any reasonable person an immense amount of embarrassment when attempting to justify it.
The net result was nearly three hours of wasted time, caused by a confirmed booking that Mazda failed to honour, followed by a complaints process that produced no outcome whatsoever. Instead, I was told to sort it out on my end despite not being at fault in any way.
A global manufacturer should be capable of more than issuing dismissive “apologies” while deflecting responsibility and offering no solution.
If something goes wrong, do not expect Mazda UK to resolve it as instead you will receive lip service and complete apathy.
Appalling and abusive service.

When is a receipt not a receipt when is a papal receipt as Mazda would not except it as to part of my existing clame
Never buy a Mazda
Having spent over £50k on a brand new Mazda CX60 phev, we have never such a terrible experience and so many faults with a new car.
After numerous recalls, and a failed tailgate strut, we are now 3 weeks waiting for faulty front sensors to be replaced.
The York dealership never calls you back…how hard is it to source 2 sensors which we assume are a basic stock part!
Will definitely never recommend or buy another Mazda #disappointed!
Bought a diesel CX-5 from new
Bought a diesel CX-5 from new, after 6 months got a warning the oil level was too high so went into the dealership for an oil change. Despite using the car for long trips it was apparent it was suffering from issues with oil dilution. Fast forward a few months and the car is experiencing juddering and a rocking movement under braking. I took the car into Eden Basingstoke for a service and to check the brakes but was told the brakes are fine. Still experiencing issues we took the car to Guildford Mazda who said the runout on one of the brake discs was above tolerance and despite there being plenty of wear remaining on the front pads we needed to replace the discs and pads and the car had done 9000 miles. The dealership suggested I call Mazda customer services who said there was nothing they could do. So I potentially replace the discs and brake pads at nearly £700 from Mazda or put up with it. Having driven cars for over 30 years and never had these issues with any other cars, its safe to say we won't be touching Mazda again and buying any more of their junk products.
