Manxtelecom Arvostelua 27

Been having issues with our internet dropping out for the last several months, but have been putting up with/making the best of it rather than deal with Manx Telecom's horrible customer (dis)service. Eventually it got to the point where the internet was dropping out every couple of minutes and was virtually unusable, so called MT and reported the fault. Manx Telecom advised that an engineer would attend within the next five working days and that we would be contacted with a date/time. Of course, this was not done and an engineer turned up in the middle of the working day with no prior notice, no change to make alternate arrangements with my workplace, and no opportunity to make sure the socket etc was easily accessible for the engineer. Manx Telecom provides a substandard and overpriced service, does not rectify their mistakes in a timely fashion, and is disorganised and chaotic in their approach to visits to customer properties.

Router was sent out with a VLAN setting still applied that prevented it from working out-of-the-box as was expected, had to call support to resolve.

Internet cuts off upto 5 times a day for upto 20mins a go, support tells me that is normal...!?

Internet speed started at 97Mbps, dropped to 48Mbps after the first month... 48Mbps is below the 50-100Mbps im paying for and was told i would recieve.

Apparently the only payment option is direct debit, they dont accept cash or allow standard 30-day invoices i was told. Seriously, they dont accept cash!

At time of writing, website claims 24/7 support however this is not correct and support is only available 9am to 7.30pm.

Was told to bring the brand new router, configured by MT into shop to test if it is causing the drop outs, like it wasnt tested or checked before being sent out.

Bought a new phone on contract from MT. Manx.net emails didn't sync. Neither the online help nor tech bench in shop could help. They said it couldn't very done even though all old emails were still on the Web server. Only suggestion was to forward them to myself. However Island IT showed me the correct email sync settings and everything downloaded fine. I wonder if MT will reimburse me for the Island IT cost????

My old router from MT packed in after 5 years so paid for a new one full price in cash from them. Next month or two later I get charged an extra 100 on top of my current bill. Went in and explained I paid cash, they said they would refund me, it's been a week now so sat in here waiting for service to double check I am actually getting refunded. Been number one in the line for 20 minutes now. Not exactly busy. Had multiple people walk past and knowone has asked if I am waiting on this sofa. Wasted a lunch break here. Back to work I go.

Unfortunately Manx Telecon couldn't organise the proverbial drinks party in a brewery. There have been problems with a large number of Manx net email accounts recently (only a small number according to MT, they think residents on our small island are stupid and don't talk to each other!) and MT's ineptitude at fixing it knows no bounds. Phoning their helpdesk incurs a long wait despite being constantly told "your call is important to us" and when you do get through I suspect they have co-opted everyone including the office cleaner on to the helpdesk? At best they are pleasant, try to be very helpful but can't, at worst they are belligerent, obtuse, unhelpful and blame everyone else including Microsoft and AT Mail! Promised return phone calls don't materialise. complaints aren't responded to and it is quite clear they are out of their depth. All this at high prices compared to UK adjacent island operators!

I wish MANX TELECOM would expand onto the uk mainland they offer a very good service and would teach BT and KCON a lesson for being far too expensive so now they should Expand!
