Very efficient and effective service from a reliable company. There are many options in this space but I found LHL to be open and honest in what they could offer with a fair (and again open) fee structure. Would recommend.

I have never received any service from this company. Without any contract or approval, they sent me a false invoice. I suspect this is fraudulent activity—please be cautious.

We did receive a historic business rates refund through this company, which was a positive outcome, and the process itself was relatively straightforward.

That said, our overall experience was affected by a lack of transparency around costs. As a charity, we are particularly mindful of value for money, and it wasn't made clear at the outset that, once VAT was applied, the company's fee would amount to more than half of the refund, something we feel should have been explained upfront.

We were also told on several occasions, both in writing and in person, that our future business rates would be reduced. In practice, our rates increased, placing additional pressure on our charitable budget. We understand that wider revaluations by the Valuation Office Agency can influence outcomes, but we weren't made aware of this risk at the time, and future savings were presented more as an expected outcome than a possibility. We are also not entirely clear on whether the work carried out may have contributed to the increase, and feel this was never adequately addressed.

When we raised our concerns, the response did acknowledge some "confusion," though we felt it fell short of fully addressing the miscommunication.

Overall, the company did deliver on the refund itself, but the lack of upfront clarity and the way future outcomes were communicated mean we'd encourage others, particularly other charities, to ask detailed questions before proceeding.
