I can only give a very positive review for Knights Solicitors. Unfortunately l don't live in the UK, but without having to fly over, Knights handled everything very professionally and were an unbelievable help for me living so far away. Nam at knights took over our conveyancing after knights bought the solicitors we chose mid-way through our process. He continued the process seamlessly and of anything accelerated it with his excellent communication. Couldn't have been happier with him towards the end of the process, very available on the phone and responsive to emails.

We have worked with Rachael Billam and her team for 11 flat sales over the past 2 years. We have been extremely happy with their professionalism, friendly communication and the speed at which they work. They regularly update you on costs incurred and progress of the sale and always respond to emails and phone calls quickly and politely. We definitely would recommend them to anyone who requires their services.

I instructed Knights for two significant family matters over 2022-2023, paying over £60,000 in legal fees. Originally they estimated about £20k. While the legal work was competent, the way they handled billing and debt collection was deeply disappointing.
After informing them in June 2023 that I could no longer afford to continue due to financial hardship, I later disputed a final invoice. Despite four separate requests over several months for an itemised breakdown - standard professional courtesy - Knights refused to provide one until I was forced into court proceedings.
The itemised bill was eventually provided within court papers. This meant litigation was necessary simply to obtain information I was entitled to as a client.
Following judgment, I received no written notification and proactively contacted both Knights and the Court trying to establish payment details. Despite this, High Court Enforcement was instructed, adding £414 to a £968 dispute.
For a firm that had already been paid £60,000+, pursuing aggressive debt collection against a client who had clearly communicated vulnerability and was actively trying to pay felt unnecessarily punitive.
I expected better from a firm of Knights' standing. If you're considering instructing them, get fixed quotes in writing and monitor costs closely - mine tripled from the original estimate.

Rachel Byles of Knights in Newcastle under Lyme acted for me on a probate sale of my mother’s house. She was very efficient, professional and proactive through-out, despite the other solicitors involved being very slow and failing to communicate. I would certainly recommend her. You might pay more for the service but it is worth it. It’s unfortunate that not everyone operates in the same way which can mean that the process is still stressful.

Knights were able to step in after we were let down by previous solicitors 6 weeks into our purchase. Our solicitor Sarah-Louise was informative, friendly, helpful and communicative throughout and she managed to get us over the line by Christmas despite the initial delays by the previous solicitor. Fee wise it is much more expensive than other companies hence 4 stars not 5, but in fairness we got a very good service and timely completion was the end result. Would highly recommend

Louise and her team helped us sell a flat with lease issues and then the purchase of a building plot and a associated development plan.She was brilliant at guiding us through all the complexities that were involved and at finding solutions to any issues that arose during the process.She responded quickly to emails and phone calls which was very reassuring for us and gave us the confidence to get the deal completed.

The team at Knights made a tricky house sale for an elderly relative a much smoother experience than expected. Tia has been amazing! Since the start she has been on top of things and replies very quickly to our emails. No delays whatsoever from her end and she made the process stress free from the solicitor point of view. All the documents were sent appropriatly. There is a big team in Knights, which is a double edged wepon. It means that you will always find someone to answer your query yet it might be someone you are unfamiliar with. But to be honest, there internal communication system is amazing and we never felt that the person answering our question is out of loop.
