BAD TO THE EMPLOYEES IS NO GOOD FOR THE CUSTOMER
I had apply to be a bartender on SEEK for Hunter Barrel and knowing the restaurant from Sydney I was super happy to try the position. The Human Resources called me for an interview I explained that I m student, that I have a first job and I m only looking for few hours. Knowing everything and passing to the manager in Perth, the manager wants first of all a free trial (that is ilegal by Fair work) on a Saturday (most busy night). Beside a book with rules of like 30 pages that I had to read before my shift. I manage to change for Sunday to don t ruin my saturday night. I got there had another manager that ask me to be 3 to 4 hours (ilegal to don t pay my trial) polishing glasses, completely forgot about me or even offer any help, or said thanks when I was finished. Completely rude to the staffs and with many problems as they don t care much about sanitation or clean by the rules. Completely disgusting pieces of fruits cuts hanging with dirty glasses and being served. Dirty clothes to polish the glasses. Not safe place to work or to get a drink. The kitchen was the same same. After all, I got to the manager on a Monday for a chat and he basically said that has many more people to do free trials and don t need anyone not 100% for them and the chat finished without a thank you again. Anyway, end of the story: one more company making the worst management and only caring about the cover look. Bad managers taking advantage of how big is the brand to get people working for free on a hope to get a job.
