Dreadful people
Dreadful people - missed ferry, hotel etc etc due to car problems all of which were non refundable - spent weeks re-sending documents to them and then more weeks asking what was going on - finally a response - of course nothing covered - will definitely not renew with them again - a very stressful waste of my precious time.

Globelink International Travel Insurance are the most competitive and safe travel insurance company to deal with. Their web site is easy to navigate and is supported by a helpful on line system. We have used them for travel in the USA, Caribbean, Greek Islands and the Mediterranean and every time their cost is better than other companies. My wife and I are Senior's so naturally we look to cover us both 100% and can always rely on Globelink to provide us with adequate travel insurance cover.

It is over twelve weeks since I…
It is over twelve weeks since I submitted our claim. ( a missed connection owing to our flight arriving late in Dubai). In support of our claim we have submitted 27 emails with over 30 plus pieces of evidence...copies of tickets, itinerary, letters from the airline apologising for the inconvenience etc. In addition, we have telephoned their office on several occasions. Each time it was the same mantra "we have a lot of claims to process and yours will be dealt with in due course"
On each occasion when documentation was provided this company in response have asked for more documents/clarification.
Globelink Travel Insurance tardiness and obfuscation should be an embarrassment to them. We will not be seeking to utilise their service again.

Very bad service
Very bad service. They outsourse their insurance to other companies like HWA insurance. They never get back to you after you make a claim. They just say they are working on it. It's been over 3 months since I made a claim and nothing. Not even an email. I have to keep on emailing them, and they come back with the same rubbish. It's not because it's cheap, you should use this company because if you really need them they will not help you. I will never use them again. There are much better ones out there which I have used before. You pay extra and wish you will never need to use them, but when you need them, they will help.
Global link is not worth it better. You pay extra. All the 5 stars here are just about buying the insurance policy. How easy it was to buy, but nobody has anything good to say about making a claim.

Ambiguous wording means practically nothing covered
We have been travelling for over 40 years and have never made a claim. This year whilst on holiday my husband lost a 30 year old wedding ring. We put in a claim, not for money but for a like for like replacement for sentimental reasons. This was refused because we were told we should have taken precautions against any losses. I don't even understand what that means and this ambiguous statement covers practically everything on the policy so BUYERS BEWARE insuring with this company is a complete waste of time as so much is hidden on small print and not covered. Avoid at all costs we will never insure with them again.
Their response below says the ring was unattended, it was on my husbands finger so how on earth can that be "unattended" I think the response just about sums up credibility.

We are so sorry that you feel so negatively about our insurance. Although Globelink has no direct authority on claims we have made investigations with the insurer claims agent as we always try to help our customers, we understand the wedding ring was lost whilst unattended and we do regret that with items deemed valuables, there is a requirement to exercise due care and attention, this is common to most travel insurance policies. Nearly all travel insurance policies insure property based on its value at the time of loss, not on a new-for-old or like-for-like basis as can be purchased for household insurance or other insurances that are specifically for declared items. Please note that our policy wordings meet the high standards of customer fairness and accessibility expected by our regulator the Financial Conduct Authority, and our website provides all details of the policy including the wording and IPID and our team is always there to answer queries. If you feel you have been unfairly treated, you have the right to have your claim reviewed not only by the insurer but by the Insurance Ombudsman who is in place to defend consumer rights and whose free service is detailed in the policy under the complaints procedure.

A claim for a cancelled trip at short notice took four months to settle. Out of a claim for around £750 I received £212.

Dear Mr Wardman, We are sorry to hear your claim was not settled to your satisfaction, you do have the option to pass your claim over to a Financial Services Arbiter (full details of how to do this are found in your policy wording on page 18) and you may also have the right to pass your complaint to an Ombudsman in your country of residence for an independent evaluation of your claim.

I cannot express enough how utterly disappointed and frustrated I am with the abysmal support provided by Globelink and their agent, Healthwatch, regarding our delayed baggage claim. Our experience with them has been nothing short of a nightmare.
First and foremost, the communication from both Globelink and Healthwatch was shockingly poor. Despite numerous attempts to reach out to them for updates on our claim, we were met with repeated requests for documentation we had already provided or generic responses that offered no real information or assistance. It felt like we were being intentionally ignored.
Furthermore, despite providing all the requested documentation promptly, we received no support whatsoever in resolving our claim. It's incredibly disheartening to see a lack of empathy and urgency from companies that are supposed to assist customers in times of need.
Overall, our experience with Globelink and Healthwatch has been nothing short of a disaster. I would strongly advise anyone considering their services to look elsewhere. The complete disregard for customer service and the lack of support provided is simply unacceptable.

Dear Mr Pitman, we can only apologize for the delay in settling this claim, this is certainly not the service we expect from our claims handlers, as the broker we cannot influence the outcome of a claim but have been working with Healthwatch since your original earlier email to us to have your claim reviewed and settled in accordance to the terms of the benefit summarised on the certificate of insurance. Your claim has been passed to the Insures and we have been advised that we should have a formal response from them in the next couple of days, we will keep you updated via email.
No flight, no insurance!
My son didnt have his flight yet back home and then they dont pay anything! I think this is in the very small letters....

Good travel insurance for the over 80s
I have just booked a worldwide one trip comprehensive insurance for the over 80s to attend a family reunion in the USA. The webside was user-friendly and efficient, with all details easy to understand.
