Avoid this firm, that’s if it even exists.
Paid in full for my order, which never arrived. I sent numerous emails which were not responded too, tried phoning numerous times to only be on hold hours at a time and never actually getting to speak to anyone.
My last 3 emails I was asking for my money back, which they have just ignored so am in process of claiming my money back through my bank has the company has not responded to any of my attempts to contact them or my requests for a refund.
Don’t know how they are allowed to trade has by reading some of the other reviews left there are loads of people who are experiencing nothing but negative things with this company and all the reviews seem to be about the same thing. Avoid this company unless you want to lose your money

Thank you for your review and order, please accept my apologies, as per our telephone conversation the day after your order was placed, we did not have a 5 litre of the compressed gas cylinders in stock and although we was awaiting the delivery, it could take up 7 days for the delivery to come into us. As you were informed we would refund you immediately but this could take up to 3 working days, the refund was processed from our end whilst we were still on the telephone call. As your refund was made immediately by us, we have no control of how long your bank takes to process it back onto your card.
After the refund was done and then the constant phone calls from yourself, staff members refused to answer your calls as staff are not expected to be spoken to in a rude, disrespectful and offensive behavior, including derogatory remarks and disruptive acts amounting to verbal and emotional abuse,
Finally the company has been trading for over 30 years, is VAT registered and a Limited company

Very Very Expensive. £157 for every 20L refill.
Works out very expensive per refill.
I bought a bottle last year at £78 and £80 deposit plus £29 postage. So that bottle cost me £107.
I try to order a refill now it will cost me another £78, the deposit's gone up to £100 so I'm out £20, plus delivery at £29 and the postage cost to send the old bottle back at £30 so the cost of the bottle this time around is actually £157!!!
Not worth the bother.
Looking at the other reviews I'm worried I won't get my deposit back now too!

Thank you for your order and review, Please accept my sincere apologies over the cost of the bottles/deposit, this is due to a shortage of bottles in the system and the supplier amending their prices to us, unfortunately the cost of postage is beyond our control. If cylinders are returned without any damage and the allocated time then a full refund is always issued. Costs throughout the industry have increased recently and this is beyond our control, all prices are clearly shown on our website and when ordering over the telephone. All bottles can be returned free of charge at our Haydock depot, self arranged collection - where you can arrange your own courier at your own agreed charge or alternatively complete the empty cylinder return on the website, which does advertise the correct prices, but all prices are subject to VAT. The worst firm I've ever dealt with.
How on earth is this firm allowed to trade? They failed to process my order for an Argon bottle and with no explanation or apology, said they would despatch one 3 days after my enquiry as to why it hadn't arrived (August 2020). I cancelled the order 15 minutes after that conversation but, hey presto, they had managed to despatch a bottle in that time which enabled them to charge despatch and return fees for it! Fancy that. All complaints ignored, no paperwork, another bottle deposit withheld and they hid behind 'terms and conditions' when my credit card chargeback was denied. Excoriating legalised theft basically. Don't go near them.
The apology below, and those posted to other complainants, are the usual hollow 'please accept our apologies' platitudes. How about 'please accept the £90 we owe you' instead, in my case? How does saying 'the member of staff has left' mitigate the circumstances in any way? Btw, the person who denied my £90 was Chris Arnold. No relation to the person of the same surname who left the 5 star review of course...
Oh look, there's another satisfied customer who has left glowing feedback. What's his name? Chris Arnold!!!

no refund for returned empty
Similar story to others, no refund on returned 20 ltr empty, £100, I have wrote a letter to them and used the messaging service, no reply on all counts, I am a pensioner and cant afford to lose money like that, when the current bottle is empty it will be taken back in person and i will demand a reciept, their not conning me again? avoid this company like the plague.

Similar story to others...paid in full, bottle delivered but my £60 deposit has not been returned as promised on numerous occasions...disgusting behaviour, cheating hard working people out of their money. Avoid this company at all costs!!!!!!
Finally today, after numerous phone calls and emails, my deposit has been refunded.

Once they had rectified their logistic issue, they delivered the cylinder back to ourselves, where once it was booked back into us the refund was done immediately, how long your bank takes to refund into your account is something beyond our control.

Disgusting business practices.
Absolutely appalling. Ordered a CO2 cylinder, it arrived the next day. I used the cylinder and returned it. Gas UK will not refund my deposit. I have spoken to them on the phone and they have assured me the deposit would be returned in a couple of days. That was over a month ago. Still no deposit back. All emails to the company are being ignored. They are thieves plain and simple. Avoid these scammers like the plague.

Terrible company to deal with
Terrible company to deal with. Many years in the refrigeration industry and never seen anything like it. Wrong bottle deliver (different description on website) they agreed and said a refund would be issued and they would collect, over 6 weeks ago. No collection and no refund! Not getting anywhere with emails so written letters started. Not one letter responded to!
Do NOT use! Also check out the courier they use (XDP) they have the worst reviews within their industry! These two companies go well together.
Anything negative on social media, they will delete!
In response to their response which is 18 months too late! No attempt was made for collection. You forgot we had CCTV. No collections attempted, they lied. Your cylinder was ordered on the site but the dimensions of the actual cylinder that arrived was different from the one specified on your site. We have told you this numerous times!
You need to remove yourself from being in business.
NO one order from these! You have been warned, look at the other reviews too. All bad

No apology was ever given to us. You don’t apologise on a review website to make yourself look better. You apologise to your customer directly. The way you handled our money was horrendous, of which I’ve never experienced before, if you want to make this right your still need to return money to us.
Until then the public need to know what Gas Uk are about. It’s also clear what you are doing when you respond to a review 1.5 years later, along with a bunch of other glowing, 5* reviews on the same day! 73% bad reviews says it all. Aggression? Where and when?

We have been in the cylinder industry for over 30 years, I have checked your account and the cylinder you ordered yourself on our website was the one that was delivered, our support staff are available to assist with any questions on which type of cylinder is suitable. The collection was attempted on numerous occasions which were all unsuccessful, once your return had been successful the courier did have logistic issues with returning the cylinder to ourselves. Once it had been delivered back to ourselves a refund on the deposit was allocated immediately. Scammers - Avoid at all costs.
Utter conmen. Incompetent customer service. Supply faulty goods (late), fail to collect them (resulting in lost time and money), refuse to refund until they have the item back - something which they have repeatedly failed to arrange from their end (and is impossible to arrange from my end due to the item being dangerous goods). Totally in breach of the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

I have checked your account and you took out standard delivery which is 3 to 5 working days, this certainly does not amount to goods being faulty. Our courier service did try to collect your returns on numerous occasions which they were not able to do as they could not gain access to them. Returns can be made on our online website at return your cylinders tab or arranged by yourself through an independent courier. We were not in breach of the consumer rights act of 2015. Advertising and selling 12.5Kg of 134a , However only filling to 9Kg. Disappointing with the price of 134a and refusing to rectify. Make sure you check the amount they send you!!! Seems like a scam company.
Edit:
Since the original review was posted they have been in contact and refunded the difference, and resolved the case. Still not admitting or taking responsibility, but its a star, at least they showed some fraction of customer service.. Just remember to weigh the gas from them.
