Wycombe Rye Lido

This place could be really nice but unfortunately the upkeep and lack of investment shows. I signed up primarily to use the pool but do use the gym as well. Gym equipment is dated and lacking, 3 of the 5 treadmills are out of service and aren't showing any signs of being fixed. Changing rooms are dirty, half of the lockers are broken, and in general in need of an update.
The area around the pool needs a refresh (and weeding), the children's pool is sat full of algae and out of use (I think it's been like this for years) which is a shame because it makes the main pool busier during hot weather.
The pool opening times are random and seem to always be changing, I usually just turn up and hope for the best. The pool is often also very dirty looking and cloudy.

It's a shame because this could be a really nice lido if a bit of investment was put into it. I'd even be happy to pay a bit more if a bit more care was taken of it. There is even a cafe space that looks permanently closed. I will keep up my membership because it's in a convenient location for me but don't feel like it's good value for money at the moment.

I paid £40 per month to use the Shepton Mallet lido. In theory this means you don’t have to pay for any further swims. However when you come to book it asks for a payment of £8 each time. Notified the staff and they just apologise and say they’ll look into the problem but they’re difficult to reach and they’re not very responsive. Awful staff attitude and systems. When I started this I also had issues about the way they took bank details for the standing order and then seem to pass them to another member of staff. I pointed out they had breached GDPR and they admitted it hadn’t been well handled but they don’t seem to understand how to manage customers professionally.

Worse gym I've been to in my 40 years. This Fran lady shouts and has her music so loud it impossible to do anything other than leave, let alone yoga. Is she mad? What is with this level of thumping music are we all deaf? Staff non existent, rude, pools dirty, sandy, no managers care, the hours of teh pools are silly, too expensive and they trick you by pumping up your DD, its'all big mess and I wonder why people go there. The million pound refurbishment is a joke.

Equipment has been out of order at the Brockwell Lido gym for over a year now. What exactly is my membership paying for?

Fusion has failed to tell the truth to my MP about an outstanding significant debt. The company does not respond to correspondence in a timely way and Head Office ignores even Recorded Delivery letters. It does not maintain facilities efficiently and has now lost its contract with Braintree District Council. The Company cannot be trusted, however reception staff snd trainers are excellent. ,"By their fruits shall you know them'

Really friendly staff , classes are great, a bit disappointed there are not many classes on the weekend

A very good gym, friendly and with excellent gym class instructors. Consistency and quality.

My activity at 81 with 2 knee replacements is deep aqua, which without doing twice a week for around 20 years, I don’t think I’d still be here, so be be honest is most frustrating when there is no one to take the class which has happened several times just recently, please please sort out extra cover, so many of us would appreciate it

It's a brilliant leisure centre. Has everything you need for your fitness and wellbeing journey. The Instructors at top notch, very professional, amazing, and friendly. They encourage you to do your best and to push yourself to improve your fitness. I joined on the 1st of June 2024 and have been attending almost every day since then, doing classes (there are lots to choose from), badminton, swimming, and gym. Highly recommend.

I feel as though I’ve been robbed by thieves. They are very keen to sell you membership. It is very difficult to get a call back or a reply to an email when you want to cancel or if you have a problem. They hide behind ‘the small print’ and claim to have no flexibility. They don’t seem to realise that this approach costs them business in the long run. I will never use them again.

Don't buy membership... cancelation is not that easy , looks like you signed devils pact.... everything you must .... nothing to you everything for them ...

Have just returned to the Kingsmead Centre, having previously been a member, and leaving only due to the refurbishment. Well, I can honestly say, it is fabulous!
Staff are positive, friendly and helpful (quite a change from my previous gym) and the facilities are amazing.
Open, airy, clean, huge studio spaces, and new Health and Intencity suites to boot.
We were paying £30 for a basic, poorly run gym, with a paltry number of classes on offer- for £20 more we have an incredible array of classes, a wonderful gym, a pool, racquet courts, and so much more!
Annoyed I didn’t return earlier!

Booked to go on a swim session at the Wycombe Rye Lido in March. First time trying a new pool. Session was cancelled, last minute, due to staff sickness.
Was told I could have a credit or a refund. Chose a refund which I'm still waiting for after two months!
Apparently, the refund process takes time. In this day and age refunds are instant. Can't see why this company finds it so difficult!

Cancelled lessons - no attempt to make it right or refund anything.

If I could give them ZERO start I would. Absolutely the WORST! You can raise online complaints all you want, they never get back to you. This company has stolen money out of my cashless wallet on their absolutely AWFUL system that I am forced to use. You can't phone anyone, I have complained to the council (nothing) I have raised complaints with them (Nothing). I just wanted to book a swimming session for my children but over 2 weeks of booking errors, and then they taking my money without a booking. It's not worth it. I am not going to use the Wycombe lido Pool ever again because of this company!

It is such a let down. I attend Meadowlands in order to take part in Aquafit. The teacher is good, but the rest of the staff are not welcoming or helpful, in fact if they do speak it is like they are doing me a favour.
I tried an evening class, but the other participants told me that the class is always 15 minutes late starting and no time is added on at the end!
Most of the lockers do not work, no-one explained that I would have to take some equipment into the pool with me; that would have been very helpful.
The showers are not very good at all. I am hoping things will improve.

where do i start....... back in Dec 2024 the pool was cold due to one boiler not working as it should, the pool was then closed over Xmas and then when they were due back to swimming lessons the pool was still closed as they were fixing the boiler (YAY) this went on for around 6 weeks or so as the so say part had to come from abroad - as from end of Feb when swimming lessons resumed the pool was warm the first lesson back but then it went back to being very cold again - so cold that my son had to be taken out of his lessons (as he was too cold) by the swimming instructor, so only having 10min lessons - also the changing rooms smell of sewage, there are several broken tiles around the pool, there has been absolutely no refurbishments of the pools since Fusion has taken over - the only thing they done was spent loads on a new reception area - i have since cancelled the lessons and I'm still waiting for a refund and acknowledgement from my complaint over a week ago ! this has breached their complaints policy which stats i will be contacted within 48 hours and complaint resolved within 7 days...! WOW that is punching - i will NEVER use Fusion facilities again what an absolute joke of a company if you can call it that ! avoid at all costs !!

The swimming instructors are amazing but frankly the facilities are well below standard. Poolside showers don't work, swimming pool changing rooms are closed. You have to walk down a long corridor in the cold to get to the badminton court changing room. Only 3 showers there and very dark in the shower area. For how much they charge for membership, it really is a joke.

Signed up my son there, paid the whole thing they asked told will be contacting when the swimming lessons start . Direct debit was taken, no contact no email.
After one month they emailed saying that congratulations with the first month of swimming lesson you are doing brilliant
