Formula One Autocentres - Cambridge Arvostelua 

I needed my car early in the morning and the evening before I noticed that I had a flat tyre (a little puncture). Formula one team were helped me to fix it super fast.

What a Godsend!!!

We were travelling to CentreParcs in Sherwood Forest for a special birthday celebration, when the rear box of our cars exhaust decided to break.

After finding somewhere safe to stop and contacting the RAC, we were recommended Formula One Autocentre.

As luck would have it, we were situated just around the corner from them. The RAC strapped up the exhaust and spoke to them on the phone.

Upon arriving, the team were great. They were up-front, honest and open. They told us how much the repair was likely to cost and got us up on the ramps in under 15 minutes. (I think we were just lucky that it wasn't busier when we arrived).

The team managed to fix the exhaust by way of a weld and the price was very fair.

We were so grateful, as it meant we could get to our destination and enjoy the birthday celebrations.

We were ready to get recovered and go home.

A massive thank you to all of you in the team.

Unfortunately I will not be returning here, (HISTON ROAD) I had a perfectly good running car and it’s now completely messed up, after two mot and a service, my tracking is completely out, knocking and clunky sounds, I will need to take my car to another garage, I have not raised issues with formula one since this last time as they will only deny it. Have witnessed them shouting at an elderly gentleman for not bringing car in on time and was so uncomfortable to see!. I’m never going here again, so glad I read reviews now , and I know it’s not me, completely gutted about my car and can only hope it can be fixed properly.

I was grateful to have my car finally seen by Barnwell road Branch, after 3 wrong size tyres were fitted on my car, broken clip and tracking completely out from HISTON ROAD, which Histon road branch denied a tracking problem when I took it Straight back after driving it home, BARNWELL ROAD Branch has sorted everything on my car correct and safely, they were friendly and very helpful, I’m very grateful, no negatives to this branch, but I will never return to Histon road and would not recommend this particular garage.

My tyre pressure dipped suddenly. Lovely guys found a gap to take a look. Efficient, friendly, jovial, personable. Found a tack in the tyre and fixed the hole all for. under £25. I’ve been here before and always been greeted with the same excellent customer service.

Tyre change booked via Asda for 10.30am, arrived 10.15am and they didnt appear to be expecting me though had paid in advanced. 11.30 still waiting, car hasnt been looked at. When i I asked if I had been forgotten, was told I was next. He then told me they had got my booking confused as 2 letters on registration plate were transposed.
Could have been a factor I guess, however he had seen the car and taking 1 hour to notice an error? Another hour waiting and finally 12.30pm its done. I was waiting a total of 2hrs 15mins....totally unreasonable.

Please stay away from these cowboys!! I have been unwise and booked a service with them and they have just made a mess. Immediately discussed with the manager on the day and they accepted responsibility and said they would call me back for replacement/refund. But it was just a tactic to buy time: in fact later they just denied their responsibility against all evidence. Customer care inexistent. Never again!!!

I took my car for a change of tyres and ended up having to take it to a different garage as they completely ruing it. After the change, one of the tyres wasn’t able to maintain the pressure any longer. I took the car back again the day after to fix it, but they said it wasn’t there problem. Ended up having to take my car to another garage and without a car to go to work for who knows how long.

First choice for my MOTs and tyres.
The Barnwell Road team are knowledgeable and courteous. Their service and prices are the best in my area.

Called into the Cambridge, Barnwell Rd branch at short notice. The staff, although they were very busy at the time were able to look at my vehicle and get me back on the road. Extremely happy with service given, would happily recommend and will go back in the future.

Great on the spot service carried out very professionally. this was a short notice repair and no one else could fit me in. These guys jumped into the breach and solved my problems in one rapid hit at a sensible price! Amazing.....and friendly too.

I went to get an MOT done, and although booking is convenient and fast, I was appalled by the level of customer service I received from what I presumed to be the manager of this place.

Simply put, the communication is extremely poor - I was promised a call when the work was done but instead found myself chasing up after them.

But, to top it off, I was met with a lack of friendliness and initiative from the manager - who made it seem as if he was doing me a favour for charging me extremely overinflated prices for basic repairs.

Never mind the waiting (a 20 minute chat here, a 10 minute phone call here) just to get something basic and simple over and done with! I've never wanted to leave a place as fast as Formula One Autocentres in Cambridge - what an absolute nightmare; steer clear at all cost. I know I'll be avoiding it.

Excellent service from Barnwell road Cambridge branch. Took my BMW in for a check up and wheel balance, staff were very helpful and sorted my cars issue led by the excellent branch manager.

Took my car to Barnwell Road Cambridge branch on 3rd August for a full service, m.o.t and advice, Sean and all the staff were extremely helpful, informative and made the time to explain everything to me and advise after expressing my concerns on any further work needed, instilling confidence in their expertise along with very competitive prices, I appreciate not being ripped of like I have in the past. Waiting area is comfortable and overall 5* service and will be going back in two weeks for work needed. Thank you all at Formula One Autocentre Barnwell Road, would highly recommend.

Dropped car off at F1 on Histon Rd with a flat/slow puncture early before work. Repaired within an hour when they could have told me it needed a new tyre and was ready for pickup good as new. Outstanding service and beyond trustworthy.

Very helpful over the phone and had my tyre sorted out the next day.

Car was in a for a steering issue for a month. Never received a call. When I chased I was getting fobbed off. When my car was ready. I drove away and the dash wasn't working. Took it back. Battery died as was in their garage so long. Has to sub out to work as no on there knew what they were doing. Went to pick it up next day. Speedo working but fuel gauge at zero still and my car menu's are in German now rather than English and damage to passenger side window. Should be called wild west tavern as its just a bunch of cowboys. Worst experience I've had with any company.

Clearly a busy place but they fit me in without an appointment. Went the extra mile to explain what the issue was, and refused to charge me for work they thought wasn't worthwhile. Great experience.

Went in for a small fix, which ended up being a mountain of ‘necessary’ fixes. And when I returned with issues to my tracking and knocking sounds, I was told by another mechanic that the last mechanic had put the bolts on incorrectly! And told that there were more problems with the car and given an invoice of an extortionate amount!
I took my car with bolts now fixed, to another mechanic who stressed that the danger they had put me in with their mistake could have been fatal on a motorway. And there was nothing else wrong with the car.
Do not use these cowboys. Looking at how I’m not the only one who’s experienced their shoddy, dangerous and dishonest work, makes me wonder how they are still open for business.
