Formula One Autocentres - Burgess Hill Arvostelua 

I would like to raise a formal complaint about the experience I’ve had at the Burgess Hill garage.

At 09:46 on 16/01/2026 I phoned the Burgess Hill garage and booked in to have my car looked at. I explained I had recently driven over a pothole and immediately my tyre pressure warning light came on, the steering was pulling to the left and there was a scraping noise so I asked to have it looked at around those general areas.

On 20/01/2026 I bought my car in around 09:00. I received a call at 15:15 advising they had a look and my suspension was fine, the alignment was out, the two front tyres needed replacing and the tracking needed doing and it would all cost around £200. I asked when they could do this work and was told the next day as they had to order the tyres in so I booked in for that leaving my car at the garage for them to carry out the work the next day.

Today, 21/01/2026, I hadn’t received a call as expected as of 17:30 so I called them up and asked if my car was ready and was told it was. I walked down there as fast as I could to make it before closing at 18:00. I arrived around 17:50 and went into the reception area and was served. It was at this point before I was about to pay I was advised that they were unable to carry out tracking as agreed as the track rods were corroded and they had only done the tyres. It was only when I asked why they couldn’t do it I was told it was because they needed to book this in separately. This is a running theme of their communication, you have to question everything as you only get half the information. If I wouldn’t have asked I’d have left thinking it was because they couldn’t carry out this work at all the way it was first communicated to me. I then made the booking for the next available slot on 27/01/2026. I find it very bizarre a garage would tell me extra work is required and then rather than ask me if I wanted a price and to book it in with them, leave me with the impression they couldn’t carry out the work and thus take my business elsewhere.

I would like an explanation as to why I wasn’t advised on 20/01/2026, when they phoned me to confirm my tyres needed replacing, that the tracking rods were corroded and needed repairing, thus giving me the maximum chance of getting this work carried out as soon as possible. Potentially I could’ve booked it in sooner than Tuesday with an extra day’s notice. Also, potentially, I could’ve had the work carried out elsewhere. I feel like as a loyal customer coming regularly every few months for the past 6 years my time wasn’t respected. I find it extremely hard to believe that they would not have noticed corroded track rods when inspecting the tyres and suspension. So I would like an explanation as to why I wasn’t notified as soon as possible. Alternatively, if it wasn’t spotted at first inspection why? I’d like to give you the credit that you employ competent mechanics so I imagine it’s most likely the first scenario that someone did notice at first inspection on 20/01/2026. Furthermore, I’d like to question why I wasn’t advised if my car was safe to drive or not. Surely if it’s not safe to drive a customer should reasonably expect to be advised as the garage have no idea what if any mechanical knowledge the customer has and shouldn’t make assumptions either way and give me the information. Looking on the internet it appears that it is not safe to drive. Had I have not done my own checks I could’ve driven the car extensively between now and 27/01/2026 and caused significantly further damage increasing the repairs needed, cost and wasting even more of my time waiting to have it repaired. Furthermore, I could’ve had an accident as as result of the damage to the car.

Please can you ensure that someone gets back to me as soon as possible on this.

Took the time to write detailed review giving times dates and incidents. Was contacted by customer services who asked for more information. Again gave detailed information. Customer services contacted me to say it had been dealt with, yet Iam considerably out of pocket, not even an official apology. It seems that uacceptable low levels of service are common and indeed acceptable, this suggests that even the senior management do not care about their customers. I do not recommend this company.

Booked in for wheel alignment 1400 got there 14.45,
Was told they might fit me inat 16.30.
When I was there out of 6 bays only 1 had a car on and all the fitters were just talking to each other outside.
I suppose that’s what you get on a Friday afternoon.
Will book in elsewhere.

Outstanding service. My daughter was nervous about taking her car into a garage but Mark couldn’t have been more reassuring and helpful. Honest and reliable service and very impressed. We now have our go to garage for my daughter.

I have used Formula 1 in Burgess Hill on several occasions. Always friendly and professional, good comminucation of timing and prices, and usually fit me in if there's an emergency. Would recommend.

Paul and Chris today were my guardian angels! After having a pretty horrible afternoon, I hit a curb hard in the industrial estate, popping my front tyre. Luckily just meters away from formula one auto centre, Paul and Chris were outstanding, going above and beyond to assist me in the crisis and make my car safe enough to drive once again!

My wife and I have a full service and MOT done every year.
We are very happy with their service and will continue to work with them.

Booked a full service for my car last January 4, all went well thinking that they have done as per the Master Service Checklist. And I’ve checked my car, no leaks and came to know that the coolant level was empty and didnt top it up at all.

So disappointed.

I had an issue with what I thought was a tracking issue on the front left of the car as it was showing signs of wear on the outer edge. I took the car to my local Setyres garage a few days before and they advised that the tracking was spot on and no adjustments needed, however they acknowledged that there was an issue and recommended that I take the car to Formula One Autocentres in Burgess Hill, West Sussex for a detailed laser check.
Problem identified and corrected by Formula One Autocentres in around 20 minutes and at a much better price that expected.
For those of you that know more about these things, it was a " Geometry check including front toe adjustment".
I am doing a regular check to ensure that everything is ok and the wear is no worse, so job done.

I have had some work carried out on my car today. My car was booked into the Burgess Hill auto centre. I have had excellent service from Mark and the team there on more than one occasion. Honest and prompt service given. Even though they were extremely busy, the service was still polite and respectful.

Booked in last week for this afternoons service. Spoke in person after booking online to ask about time. He said we will ring you and slot you in the pm. Its 1330 not heard via phone, online and can not get through on phone. Their regional office can't get through. Its despicable wasting 2 weeks when I need a service desperately. Total incompetence!!!

I am sorry to say that I am very disappointed with the service I booked online to go to your Burgess Hill branch for a air con clean and re gas for my Mercedes C180 the email confirmation ask me to ring after trying to get an answer for an hour I decided to go to the branch they had no idea that I was booked in as the receptionist said they are no made aware of internet bookings. They put the car in the service bay but discovered the system had a leak and told me they didn’t have the nitrogen to test it. I will say you did refund me but I do think the service should be improved to deal with this issue

Excellent service and stayed late to fix puncture so I could get home on Saturday night as I arrived just as they were closing. Thank you for care and excellent service

As previously experienced the work was speedy and as I requested.

Online booking in advance and payment at the same time means less wasted time on the day (MOT); the staff are very helpful and always have time to respond to any questions. I have been a customer for a while now - dating back to a time when the bonnet seized on my BMW and the guys in the Burgess Hill branch freed it without charge. The customer always comes first.
