Expedia refund is at 8 days now with still no refund for over $200, I contacted the app chat through Expedia to be told they were going to instantly refund the money again but that I have to wait ANOTHER 10 days. I told them that was bologna and to refund it it immediately as I'd already been waiting 8 days.

Guess what, still not refund whatsoever. No care. It does not take a month to refund anything and their playing games like it's 1970 awaiting hand written checks in snail mail . Totally ridiculous

Gave us unconfirmed tickets, got rebooked, removed without any email to aware us on our outgoing and incoming flight. Yes both extremely stressful flights. What an arse!

Booked a car rental through Expedia for CA$1,049.25. No vehicle was provided, no refund was issued, and Expedia's case process resolved nothing.

The booking was made and prepaid by my brother as primary renter, with me added as secondary driver. When I attended the Routes counter in Ottawa, my UAE licence was declined for lack of an International Driving Permit — the supplier's policy, which I accept. My brother was back in Ottawa two days later and offered to collect the car himself as the named renter.

That is where Expedia should have been useful. I opened case #37474834 and asked for one simple thing: hold the reservation so the person who booked and paid could pick it up. Instead I got repeated handoffs, no supervisor contact, nothing confirmed in writing, and no decision either way. The case produced no outcome at all — not an approval, not a refusal with a stated policy, just silence and delay until the booking lapsed.

If you prepay through Expedia, understand that when the supplier says no, Expedia will not advocate for you and will not release your money. You are on your own with the rental desk, except that Expedia is holding the payment. I would rather book direct and deal with one company than pay an intermediary that adds a case number and nothing else.

I would give negative stars if I could. Soon after booking a hotel room I got $1018 worth of credit card fraud. Hotel was booked but learned my lesson never to use a third party.

I made a reservation for boltwood Inn, Amherst , mass through Amexplatinum travel services who used Expedia travel and i got the royal rip off. A class 3 hotel, old, no amenities, no toileties and paid double the published rate for a 2 night stay. Will i ever depend on Amex Travel? Expedia? What an expensive lesson. A $200.00 hotel cost me approx US$900.00 per night. This was definitely not the Ritz Carlton. Buyer beware. An expensive lesson. Anita Gabbay

I have booked with Expedia many times before but this will DEFINITELY be the last time. I booked a flight and checked off all the boxes and I also purchased the insurance (bad decision on my part). Once they got my money I was then notified that the seats I selected weren’t available and I would need to deal with the 2 airlines running the flight. Then I committed a CARDINAL SIN: I asked for a breakdown of the insurance plan I purchased because it is the only way I can be reimbursed from my employer. The insurance company and Expedia gave me the run around telling me they never heard of breaking down an invoice?? I can’t believe that they get away with this. Save your money and get different third party insurance. I’m weary about having to deal with the insurance company if I need to make a claim, don’t think they’ll be able or willing to accommodate.

Horrible experience with Expedia, our flights were cancelled months prior to our departure and we were never made aware of this or offered another flight. Was stranded for 2 days in Toronto with my family which includes two children under 10. Lost half of my trip and hotel reservations and no one is willing to help me out at Expedia ! I do not recommend using their services !!

I am only giving one star because I have to choose a star level. My children and I attended a hotel reservation and after dinner, the air conditioning was not working and it was hotter in the hotel than outdoors. We attempted to switch rooms and when we couldn’t get a hold of staff at the hotel, we contacted Expedia to make contact on our behalf. They were unable to receive support. after spending over an hour in extreme heat and my children starting to get sick, we were forced to leave the hotel and check in elsewhere at double the cost, and Expedia refusing to provide a refund. I will never use this platform for any bookings as they do not guarantee the product that they are selling.

This was one of the worst travel booking experiences I have ever had.

First, I booked a vehicle through Enterprise using Expedia. When I arrived, I was told that the vehicle I had reserved was not available.

I then had to make another reservation through Aombre Car Rental in Dorval. Unfortunately, that experience was even worse. Expedia sent me a link that supposedly directed me to the correct location near the airport, but the address was completely wrong. The actual location was about 20 minutes away from the airport.

To make matters even more frustrating, the link directed me to the airport passenger terminal instead of the car rental location, causing me to waste even more time trying to find the right place.

When I finally arrived, the vehicle I had reserved was not at all what I expected. It was supposed to be a newer vehicle, but it already had 62,000 kilometres on it, and the interior was filthy.

From beginning to end, the entire experience was disorganized, stressful, and incredibly frustrating. Expedia is supposed to be one of the world's leading travel websites, yet the quality of service, the accuracy of the information provided, and the customer support were all extremely disappointing.

I will not be using Expedia again, and I would strongly advise others to think twice before booking through them. Expedia can and should do much better.

We booked with Expedia for our hotel only to arrive and the manager says they are not taking guests due to construction. He had no apology nothing but had booked us for another hotel. We got there and they could only book us for one night. We reached out to Expedia and they honestly go the extra mile to help the customer. Beth you are absolutely amazing. Thank you 🙏 so much

I strongly recommend avoiding Expedia. My credit card was used without my authorization to make a booking through their platform. Despite reporting the fraud, Expedia refused to provide any meaningful assistance. I’m extremely disappointed that they seem more concerned with protecting the person who used my card than helping the actual victim. They refuse to refund

Horrible! It’s been 4 months and counting to process my flight refund they confirmed they will refund in 7days, looks like it will take 7 months. Beware: stay far away

I booked a vacation package to Cabo San Lucas through the CIBC Rewards Travel portal powered by Expedia. The package included a Cabo resort and airport transfers, yet the flights issued were to Mexico City. Somehow, neither CIBC nor Expedia sees a problem with a vacation package whose components don’t even get you to the same destination.

What makes matters worse is that I was not provided with the itinerary at the time of booking. I only received it approximately two days later after specifically requesting it. By then, the discrepancy was discovered and I immediately contacted the travel provider. Rather than acknowledge the obvious issue, both companies focused on defending the transaction rather than addressing the fact that the package itself was fundamentally flawed.

Months of complaints, escalations, and countless hours later, I have learned one thing: when something goes wrong, CIBC and Expedia are experts at pointing fingers and avoiding accountability.

A travel package should get you to the destination you purchased. That seems like a pretty low bar, yet somehow it was too much to ask.

The most disappointing part isn’t the mistake—mistakes happen. It’s the complete refusal to acknowledge a situation that any reasonable consumer would recognize as absurd.

Book at your own risk. If your vacation package doesn’t actually take you to your vacation destination, don’t expect CIBC Rewards Travel or Expedia to make it right

Après avoir réservé une voiture auprès de Sixt Slovenie pour 579$ , j'ai décidé d'ajouter une protection supplémentaire de 189 Euros. Sur la facture de 950 $ , le montant de 579$ devait etre soustraire. Hors, 4 jours après le voyage, le montant de 950$ m'a été facturer en plus du 579$ déjà payé. BREF 1600$ au lieu du 950$. Ensuite j'ai porté plainte, et la réponse reçu etait que j'avais ajouté une protection en cas d'accidents. Ils n'ont rien compris du fait que j'avais déjà payé 579$. Je peux croire à une erreur de Sixt mais Expedia, c'est des voleurs.

J'ai mis 1 étoile uniquement parce qu'il est impossible d'en mettre 0.

Nous avons réservé un hôtel sur Expedia et payé la totalité du montant. Après le paiement, nous avons constaté que les dates de notre réservation avaient été modifiées par le système d'Expedia, sans notre autorisation.

Nous avons immédiatement contacté le service à la clientèle par téléphone et par clavardage. Le soutien reçu était pratiquement inexistant. Malgré nos explications, nous avons ensuite reçu un courriel nous informant que notre demande de remboursement était refusée.

Cette expérience a été extrêmement décevante. Nous avons perdu notre argent à cause d'un problème que nous n'avons pas causé, et Expedia n'a proposé aucune solution satisfaisante.

Je ne réserverai plus jamais avec Expedia et je recommande aux autres voyageurs d'être très prudents avant d'utiliser cette plateforme.

Expedia is the worst in customer service, poor communication and lack of quality in refund process. It’s better to deal directly with the hotels , for better prices and services.

J’ai réservé mon vol auprès d’Expedia car le prix était intéressant et le bagage en soute gratuit. Par prudence j’ai tout imprimé lors de mon achat le 1er mai. Mon vol étant pour le 2 août, j’ai voulu me faire confirmer par Expédia que j’avais bien un bagage en soute, eh bien non ! Entre temps les modalités ont changés !
Bref, malgré les preuves, j’ai l’impression de m’être fait avoir et je dois payer mon bagage.
Je considère cette vente malhonnête et Expédia non fiable.

I contacted Expedia to add an extra night to my hotel stay in Mexico all inclusive. I was told to change my flight first since they were booked separately and then call back and add the extra night. I changed my flight cost me $300 to make the change and then I called Expedia to add the night. I was then informed that it would cost me almost $1000 for one additional night. If I wanted to change my flight back to the original flight date it will cost me another $300. I will never use this platform again. Total scam and rip off. I did what they told me to do and they screwed me in the end.

What a piss poor company. I had to book a last minute hotel in Vancouver due to my dad getting emergency open heart surgery. I booked through Expedia as that was the quickest option to be their for my dad who was fighting for his life. Expedia offered no options for medical discounts. Get to the hotel to find out we could have saved $600 on rooms for medical expenses. After sitting on the phone menu for 45 minutes trying to connect to an actual human and not the robot, it finally said they cannot help me and hung up. What I kick to the groin to deal with while my dad is on the edge of his death bed. Will not be using Expedia ever again.
