Everyone Active - Blackbrook Leisure Centre & Spa Arvostelua 27

I have recently joined Everyone Active and now attend the Blackbrook Leisure Centre & Spa.
So far I have been very impressed and would recommend anyone who wants to get back into shape or improve their fitness.
The pool at Blackbrook is lovely, the gym state of the art and they have many great facilities. They run lots of activities and easily bookable through their app.
I attended a You+ coaching session with one of the team, called Jay. He was certainly very knowledgeable and gave me great ideas moving forward to achieve my life goals.
In summary, would totally recommend and full marks for the team and the cleanliness of the centre.

The receptionists were very welcoming upon arrival.
Told them what my query was. They advised the lady who was dealing with this type of query was tied up with a potential new customer and could they take my details and get back to me.
They took the details and within 30 minutes they called back to say the query had been sorted.

On Friday's swimming session 13.30 we (myself, 11yo daughter and 9yo son) were restricted from entering the pool because my daughter had mask on covering eyes and nose only. As a reason we ware shown rules regarding snorkling masks (full face - covering eyes, nose and mouth).
Is it the same thing? Has anyone came acros this problem?

The steam room in the spa ismt working, no steam produced at all and the managment arent interested. Dont waste your £21 when a 3rd of the facility isnt working.

I have Parkinsons and being able to use these facilities help me greatly.
The staff are welcoming which makes all the difference

Swimming lesson review (Mondays 10am). For our swimming lessons with Lucy it will always be a 5 star review. She is an unbelievably amazing teacher and person in general when teaching our babies.

The activities that she plans are age appropriate and fun! They are different each week and inline with their progress. She also has a good amount of knowledge for any concerns we have as parents and how to overcome barriers the little ones may have. All the kiddies are always so excited to see her. The best teacher by far.

However, other factors beyond her control really let the lessons down. I hope management act upon this review.

1. When Lucy is off the substitute teachers are really not up to standard. It's got to the point where many of us will not bother coming to the lesson when Lucy is off, even though we are paying. Yes it's that bad and a waste of time.

2. We really really need notice if the babies are going to have a one-off lesson in the big pool. It's much colder and we need to dress babies appropriately. Your reception team told us it was only 1 degrees different last time. However, it wasn't and we all left the pool after 5-10 mins. This was really upsetting.

3. The canteen toilets and family changing rooms could be kept much cleaner. The play area also upstairs is also a big let down.

The wellness suite is fantastic. It has it's own community within the centre and is so welcoming. The wellness suite is not just about exercise, it's great for your mental health.

The staff, especially Jane, are amazing and really care about the suite users.

I can't believe I enjoy going to the gym so much!

I have been coming to Blackbrook leisure centre and spa for years. I have been doing the wellness suite also for years. I love the equipment which helps with my mobility. The experience is fantastic staff and members are so friendly. I would so recommend Blackbrook leisure centre to people with disabilities. Jane makes the experience worth while

PT's are well qualified, experienced, friendly and helpful. Gym is well equipped and advice from staff always available. Atmosphere is comfortable with a wide cross section of abilities in attendees which means it isn't intimidating.

Blackbrook Leisure Centre Taunton - my car was damaged in the car park, despite having CCTV the management wouldn’t give me the number of offending car in case I ran a social media campaign against the driver. Missed the point that I had to pay £600 damage - protecting the wrong person, lack of the right values and over cautious management, lack of leadership Lucy / Paul you need to think about what type of leaders you want to be

Again as i pointed out to you under data protection there are 6 lawful basis for sharing and one is legitimate interest which applies to me in wanting to pursue a hit and run driver on private property. You were able to share the number but lacked the courage to do so and so sided with the offender because it was safer for you. Lack of courage lack of leadership lack of the right values-you actually told me you couldn’t give it to me in case I started a social media campaign against the driver!!

For three weeks now, the showers in the men's changing rooms have not worked.
The drains, for years, in the men's changing room has smelled dreadfully.
As much as we tell reception , nothing is done.
I'm trying to get spray deodorant banned, as when I'm behind somebody who uses it, it gets in my throat and makes it sore. It can't be good for the lungs. I do tell the person using them, and have managed to persuade them to use roll on, but one day I suppose, I'll get thumped !

So I booked and paid for three treatments for a friends birthday. Myself and two other people. when I enquired over the phone I asked the receptionist if when paying for treatments we would have the use of the spa included,my friend and I were told on two separate occasions that yes we could use the spa facilities as we’d paid to have treatments. The lady said on the phone to be mindful of my friend as she was pregnant and her use would be limited. When arriving the receptionist was extremely rude and said she thought it was just me and another lady. When I stated on the phone that it was for 3 of us. I paid for 3 treatments. We was then told that we couldn’t use the spa as we hadn’t paid for it. I stated I asked on two separate occasions over the phone and was told yes. My friend also confirmed this as she heard the conversation. The receptionist then proceeded to tell us that, that wasn’t true. And that it would now be a further £20 each. And that it was her that spoke to myself and my friend and she never said that. Baring in mind that they have an offer running at the moment that states when paying for a 25 minute facial you have full use of the spa for 2 hours. She didn’t even apologise. She just argued that she was right and we was wrong. So unprofessional and ruined what was supposed to be a nice relaxing day out for a friends birthday. So instead of trying to resolve the situation, Myself and the other friend who had spent £60+ each on treatments asked for a refund. Wouldn’t waste your time or money on this place!

I also have an email stating we have full access to the spa!

Always look forward to going to the Blackbrook Pavilion, a friendly welcome from the team, lots of classes if you want them, fabulous toning suite, a dip in the pool a pleasure. 👍

I have been a member of this gym and pool for many many years. Have seen it go through various organisations running it . Everyone Active do an excellent job overall .
It is a welcoming and friendly place with excellent committed staff with their varying types of expertise .
Pool , gym and classes all well managed . A lovely spa too
I hope to continue to use this friendly facility for many more years to come .

I had been a little nervous about going to the centre for the first time - to try out early morning swimming.
Facilities excellent

Blackbrook Leisure Centre is very well run, in my opinion and I have not regretted my membership at all. I really like the booking process for swimming as it keeps me motivated and also means the swim lanes are not crowded. the showers are always clean, lots of mopping up of the water on the changing room floor so clearly there is a lot of effort into maintaining standards.

Trying to get information about the Blackbrooke pool but no one answers the phone. Not a great first impression.

It’s so lovely to go the centre at Blackbrook, it’s clean and the staff are so lovely and inviting. We go in the spa too and it’s superb particularly the staff , it helps me a lot with my osteoarthritis a big reason I go to stay fit and healthy.

Colleague behind reception was friendly and supportive of my enquiry. There was ample parking on site and signing up for membership was straight forward, particularly as I used to be a member at another centre at Everybody Active before the pandemic. I’m looking forward to getting back into the swing of things at the gym and swimming and picking up with where I left off.
