Unprofessional and misleading. My Hyundai Ioniq had a broken dipstick. Evans Halshaw quoted £492.02. to strip the sump – claiming major engine work. The mechanic privately admitted the only problem was the dipstick itself. No professional honesty or fair dealing. I fixed it myself easily and cheaply.

Everything went smoothly and on time, only thing I can pick up on is I asked if they could value my car whilst in, to which I was told it was a different department, not sure why they couldn't look round it in the 3 hours I was there, without having to speak to other departments

Buying an electric car
Due to the fuel crisis we decided to buy an Hyundai electric car. We visited Evan Halshaw, Aylestone, Leicester and were assisted by Thuli Banda who was really helpful, friendly and professional. As a woman I have experienced some pretty patronising car sales guys in the past, which is why I found it so good to be assisted by a relaxed, capable and friendly woman. So, any women out there who want to buy a car might also enjoy the experience to going to Evans Halshaw to buy a great car from a woman sales person.

Was promised a refund for the outstanding monies paid on the i20 Service Plan in accordance with the terms and conditions. 6 weeks later still waiting … been fobbed off numerous times. Totally unacceptable and I’d encourage everybody to avoid … very poor and certainly never take out a Service Plan from this disgraceful organisation

Poor service
I had an MOT booked with the Evans Halshaw on Aylestone Rd Leicester. They have improved in that you can book in online in advance , tell them if there are additional problems to deal with and authorise spending on minor repairs. On arrival at 0900 the welcome was warm and efficient. However when I came back at 1600 to collect the car (as they suggested) the car had been washed but no work done on the MOT. They eventually finished the MOT by 1700 but failed to act on the problem I had reported in advance, did not replace the split windscreen wiper (for which I had given permission in advance) and then I was charged over £100 (which the receptionist had to correct). Not happy with this service, I expect better if a good firm like EH

Tried to take advantage of an 83 Year Old Customer
The service department tried to take advantage of my 83 year old mother in law.
Her car was in for service and MOT under a contract service agreement. Someone from the service team came to her with some 'bad news'. Her clutch would need replacing at a cost of £924.00 and also her washer jets would need replacing. In all a repair bill of in excess of £1000.00. When she queried it, saying that the clutch wasn't that old, he went away and came back a while later and miraculously, the clutch could be saved with a minor adjustment and the it was the same for the washer jets.
Had she not have queried the assessment of the necessary repairs, would they have proceeded with the replacements and charged her £1000.00. I leave it with you to decide!!
They did have to replace the battery as it was the incorrect mounting for the battery, even though this was supplied by the previous Hyundai dealer that had the service contract. No invoice was supplied at the time and it took an email, two telephone calls and a further visit to the workshop to obtain the invoice.
I called the service department last week to speak to the service manager, with the promise that he would call me back by the end of the day. I am sure it will come as no surprise to read that the call never came and still has not.

Had previous 2 cars from Sturgess
Had previous 2 cars from Sturgess. Now taken over my Evans Halshaw in Leicester. The difference in after service is vast.
Had so many issues with just trying to arrange the service.
Which was done today. Had no choice to use the waiting option. Was told it would take around 2 hours. Took approximately 45 min. Did get it cleaned as advised that would be another hour. Didn't get told it was completed. Spotted the car myself on the forecourt.
Hyundai have been great cars and well worth looking at. But it you want decent and honest after care don't use Evans Halshaw. They don't seem to know what they are doing and just make it up as they go along. After contacting Hyundai UK I did get a call from the service manager. Im a nurse and was at work, so couldn't talk but said I finish at 3. He never bothered to try again. But this is no surprise. Nice car terrible dealership
