Awful and slow service. Not worth the money. Avoid and pay for a better rated insurance policy and save yourself months of hassle waiting for them to settle your clam.

Worst service ever if I had the option I would give it 0! They are quick to get high premium money but when it comes to a claim they mess you around. Took them 5weeks to look at my claim to finally giving a pathetic reason for not giving compensation. I advise not to go with this service.

Rubbish service! When it comes to buying something they are very quick and easy but when it comes to make a claim they start playing and sending you from one place to another. Very poor service

I'm stuck in bali at the moment I need medical attention I paid for first class cover. But tried to ring and email this company. I will be taking legal action as soon as I return to the UK. This company sells you a policy with a 5 star rating when really it only has a 1 star rating this is breaking the law and I will be suing this company for every expense I receive while on holiday

My advice is to not use this company even though they do seem to exsisit. My reasons why are below.

I used Essential travel holiday insurance. It was quick and simple to buy. On my flight home my luggage (a bike) went missing. I have phoned Essential travel 4 times (once per day) they take my details and say someone will phone me back and they never have. Yesterday I phoned them for the 5th time and insisted on staying on the line after telling them about my dealings with E.T. thus far, I was put on hold and after roughly 5 minutes was disconnected so as of yet, I have still not managed to open a case file with Essential travel re my missing luggage.

Made a reservation on the phone with the travelodge in sudbury ont. I asked if there will be a deposit and they told me NO..
SO. I drove for 3 1/2 hours and get here... they asked for a deposit....so we got into our room...there was a hole in the wall.....the toilet didnt flush... and there was 2 towels for 3 people..
So my hubby complained.. we moved rooms... there was dirt all over the walls and it was nasty... so.we complaint again....they moved us to another room.... well this one stinks like cigarette smoke.
This is the first AND will be the last time I ever step foot in a travelodge in Sudbury Ont

The service i received was probably the best ive had in 30 years, nothing was to much effort the customer service representative was very accommodating and listened to my wishes and needs i cant thank her enough for helping me arrange cover for my 3 young daughters. I finalised the cover with a very pleasant feeling and complete happiness that everything was covered. Thank you so very much.

Your staff were wonderful when you finally got to talk to someone. My issue was your website which isn’t working properly and wasn’t 2 months ago. I don’t understand how the issue persisted for so long.

Ive booked with Essential travel for years and while ive never had to make a claim myself I was with my Son and his family once and my Daughter in Law was taken into hospital in Spain - Essential travel were fantastic and made the whole claim stress free during what was already an upsetting time making it one less thing to worry about

Easy to deal with on the phone but not by email. I use them because they cover you for personal injury whilst coastal sailing in France. This is not covered on an EHIC. You have to ring for a quote though as they do not come through by email even though they say they have sent it.

Extremely disappointed with Essential Travel. Having been customers with annual travel insurance which will expire mid trip I phoned to check whether I need to renew ahead of a new trip and following some questions they wanted to refer to the underwriter. I have just found out that their underwriter will not renew our son's policy because they are not prepared to cover his trip to Columbia because it includes a 5 day hike in the forest by the Amazon.

What is the pojnt of advertising that they cover worldwide when they clearly only want to cover the bog standard trips? To add insult to injury they have taken 48 hours to tell me this leaving me virtually no time to arrange a new travel cover.
