Communication was terrible from the start, expected date of delivery was pushed out by months. I spent around $12k on their products and I have to say they were definitely not worth the high price point. The dressing table and bed side tables are very flimsy the drawers don’t close flush and are very impractical for everyday use. I reached out to the company expressing my disappointment with the product and they replied asking for photos and videos and when I sent them through I never got a response. I’ve followed up twice and still have not had any response. I really wouldn’t recommend purchasing from this company. Terrible customer service and cheaply designed pieces with a high price point. They also used to have a google review available but it’s since been taken down no doubt from all the bad reviews they were receiving.

I just spent one of the most heartbreaking, gut-wrenching afternoons of my life with a dear friend of mine — a 77-year-old woman who has worked hard her entire life, lives on a fixed income, and recently downsized into a new home, hoping to make it feel comforting and dignified in this chapter of her life. She didn’t ask for much. She simply wanted one beautiful thing — one single high-quality piece of furniture she could be proud of. So she carefully, thoughtfully, and sacrificially spent $2,500 on a bed from En Gold.

What she got instead feels nothing short of cruel.

The bed they delivered was FOUR INCHES shorter than what was advertised. Four inches may sound minor to some heartless executive in a boardroom, but in reality, it has stolen this woman’s comfort, her sleep, her peace, and her dignity. The frame is so absurdly undersized that once the mattress is in place, there is virtually no room for anything else — no mattress pad, no properly fitted sheets, no comforter, no softness, no warmth. Just frustration, discomfort, and daily humiliation.

For weeks, she couldn’t even bring herself to sleep in it. She had been clinging to the hope that surely a company would do the decent thing and correct such an obvious mistake. Surely they would care that they had sold an elderly woman an expensive bed under false dimensions. But they didn’t. Even while acknowledging the discrepancy, En Gold refused to take responsibility. Refused to make it right. Refused to show even the smallest shred of humanity.

So today, this sweet woman — who should be enjoying her new home, not physically suffering in it — resigned herself to the devastating reality that she had no choice but to try to use this disaster of a bed.

I watched as her fragile, paper-thin 77-year-old hands — the hands of someone who has spent a lifetime working, caring, sacrificing, and surviving — were literally torn open and left bloody trying to force sheets and bedding into a frame that never should have been sold this way in the first place. Bloody. Her skin split and scraped simply trying to perform the basic human act of making her bed.

It was horrifying.

I stood there watching her struggle, watching her pain, watching the exhaustion and defeat wash over her, and I cried. I actually cried. Because no elderly woman should spend her golden years bleeding over a bed she saved for, trusted in, and was deceived into buying.

And the worst part? Even with all that effort, it still doesn’t work. There is still no real room for proper bedding. No beautiful comforter. No cozy refuge. Just an overpriced symbol of corporate indifference sitting in the middle of her home.

This isn’t just bad customer service. It feels heartless. Predatory. Shameful.

En Gold should be deeply ashamed of themselves for what they’ve done to this woman. They didn’t just sell her the wrong bed — they sold her disappointment, physical pain, sleepless nights, and emotional distress in what should have been a joyful new beginning.

The furniture is expensive but very poorly made. I purchased a bed frame that cost almost $2500 but is so small that a mattress and sheet won’t fit- much less a blanket and comforter. They have the delivery driver take the packaging away when they deliver- but insist that you need it if you want to make a return. If they are going to charge quality prices- they need quality customer service. My advice is to stick with Arhaus or Restoration Hardware for quality products and great customer service. Not these pretenders.
