Energie Fitness - Tunbridge Wells Arvostelua 

I was contacted after being listed as an emergency contact for my wife’s gym membership. The call was explained as a routine verification of my details, and included a promotional offer of a free gym visit as a “thank you”.

I raised concerns about this, and the gym explained they do not classify this as marketing and that this is part of their standard onboarding process.

We had different interpretations of the situation, but the matter has now been resolved.

Plenty of machines and weights and not too busy. Also a member of staff to ask any question! love it!

Great gym in a very nice and convenient location, great if you want to tear your pec or just go in for a nice workout. The PT Archie is super helpful and has to be the absolute highlight for me! 😛

Great training zone; wonderful induction and classes.

I love this gym , it has all the equipment i would need and the staff are always so lovely and helpful.

The staff (especially Izzy!) are great and friendly and are always willing to help with equipment and any questions that you may have.

Spacious and equipment is also to a great standard they've had a lot of work done recently, don’t have any complaints.

Good things:
Cheap. Close to house. Open from 6am to late.

Bad things:
Run down equipment. Awful online experience. Easy to sign up but unclear how to cancel.

Full Breakdown

Equipment is run down and in some cases damaged or out of order. It’s fine to use. I’m not that precious about this. It’s viable for a workout, but might not meet your expectations.

The online experience is terrible. It sends you in circles when trying to cancel due to poor app/site design. On cancelling, I was asked to provide a reason after which I have not received a confirmation of cancellation for several days now.

Tip: to cancel you need to email your centre.

There is a member of staff called James who calls people buddy. That’s not an acceptable way to refer to paying customers. I expect a grown man to know how to address another grown man. I’d recommend additional training for him, although the rest of the staff were lovely and no complaints whatsoever about them.

That’s pretty much it. I would not recommend this gym right now. If you have other options, you may want to try those instead. I would be open to trying another Energie in future.

I think the gym is really good, I think the equipment is good as well as ask the staff. And I love all the classes especially with abs blast and Terrys classes. He pushes me every week!

I cannot stress how awful my experience was with Energie Fitness Tunbridge Wells.

After using the gym just once and finding their claim of "top-notch equipment you'd normally only find at a high end gym" to be demonstratively false (machines are very aged and unsafe, with uneven weight balances) I attempted to cancel my membership.

I was then pressured to come in person to justify my reasons for cancelling which is entirely unreasonable, but it didn't stop there.

Energie Fitness thankfully cancelled my membership, but are claiming I am liable to pay not just this month's fee despite only using the gym once (a violation of the Consumer Contracts Regulations) but the following month's fee, also, due to not giving 30 day's notice; despite this being impossible due to their payment schedule requiring payments on the first of the month, despite the date at which you signed up. In my case, I signed up on the 15th and therefore there is no case in which it would be possible for me to give 30 day's notice.

This is entirely unreasonable and unfair practice - designed to trap customers into paying at least two months' worth of fees.

They claim their T&Cs override the statutory right to the 14-day cooling off period - allowing cancellation without penalty - which I attempted to exercise, which is completely false and unlawful.

Energie Fitness then continued to threaten me with debt collection despite me making my rights quite clear, which was very stressful. I am a student and this entire ordeal has been very stressful and financially burdensome.

Never sign up to this gym - or if you do, please be aware that they will try and intimidate and manipulate you.

Tunbridge wells, good variety of equipment and friendly staff, especially Izzy!

I joined Energie Fitness with a couple of friends, after our previous small group PT gym closed down suddenly. Despite being a bit nervous about joining a regular gym, it has been a great move. The choice of classes are great and you are made to feel welcome. I especially like the Strength Blast. I have become more confident using the equipment. Would definitely recommend joining up.

One of the best gyms in Tunbridge Wells, the staff are so helpful and lovely! Izzy especially was really helpful when I didn't know how to use certain equipment. Overall it is an amazing gym.

Izzy Is the most wonderful,patient and the kind person ever. She made me fell very welcome to all my visits and has really helped my self image and fell more comfortable about coming into the gym.

She always greets everyone with a smile and is always helping people when required.
