Appalling customer support!!!
So I bought a second hand Elektron Digitakt II from eBay, and the screen was scratched - I contacted Elektron and they charged me €40 for a replacement screen (Perspex window panel, not the display) - my engineer removed the protective film and the screen was scratched underneath! - I contacted Elektron support, they asked for photos, then accused us of scratching the screen ourselves! After a lot of wrangling I reluctantly paid another €40, and they dispatched a second screen - again scratched like first, and both were obviously seconds/returns and not factory fresh pristine screens - I have reluctantly told my engineer to fit the least scratched of the two as I have lost all confidence in their support which is a shame, as their products are sensational!
*** UPDATE *** the company offered to send me a third one, free of charge (I still had to pay €30 for shipping however) and I finally got a pristine brand new screen - my engineer charged me £45 to fit it, so in total, it’s cost me approx £150 (1/6th the cost of a new unit!) to get my screen perfect. Can’t change my review from one star as it took three screens until I got a perfect one! 😡😡😡
