Previously good service now abysmal
Previously good service. Was a regular customer. The team are now more focused on working to rule and milking the customers rather then service. Pickup was abysmal I was the only customer. Had to wait 20 minutes while the manager was eating his dinner. Trying in the meantime to use the app to check in The app crashes when you try to take a photo of your license and passport. Complained about it and was told they weren’t allowed to do the check ins themselves. Eventually they did a paper check out with no photographs as normal. Returned the car and 2 minuscule cosmetic scratches which . It’s the first time I’ve not made photos as I trusted the team . My own fault. But cost me £600. Part of the risk I take as a.regular car hire . But I won’t be using Drivalia again.

Awful and no vat receipt
The collection of the car took more than 1hr, the return just less than 1 hour.
Then both Drivalia and booking.com are refusing to provide me with a vat receipt. All other car rental companies provide vat receipt even when the booking is done via Booking.com.

Hired a Van (gave me a bigger one at no cost despite ordering a medium size). Got picked up from shuttle fairly quickly and dealt with in the same manner. Flo was fantastic. Even gave me a house warming recipe for my new place. Super friendly and chatty. Makes all the difference. Gracias!

Grace Period: We hold bookings for a maximum of 2 hours during branch opening hours. If you are going to be late, we ask that you notify the branch of your estimated arrival time.
Vehicle Hold: We can only hold a specific booked vehicle for a maximum of 1 hour past the booked collection time. After this point, clients may be offered an alternative vehicle category (subject to availability), and charges may apply.
Failure to Collect: Customers who fail to arrive on the day of collection are marked as a ‘No Show’ and charged up to 3 days rental. Please note that prepaid bookings are non-refundable.

Brunch is not on Edinburgh airport and you will find out after the payment 3 miles away from Edinburgh airport. Cost me extra 20 pound taxi !!!
I'd like to start by describing what happened to me and warning you against picking up a car without a full tank. I think they operate this way because it's an airport and tourists rent cars from them. So, I picked up the car with a half-full tank, and when I returned it, I filled it up and it was a little low on fuel (10 liters max), but I thought it was a minor issue. I was wrong, because the company charged me a £55 fee for running out of fuel without informing me. Only after numerous phone calls and emails did they kindly send me a note about it. Please be careful of these scammers and very arrogants stuff I was treating like rubbish. Don't explain me nothing and when I was asking about my payment the man said no worries that will be refunded and now I can't get full receipt from them. Honestly very bad experience I just give up I lost a money but never again. People just stay away from this company!!!!

Véhicule loué par le biais d’Easyjet, suite au retard de notre vol nous n’avons pu récupérer notre véhicule le jour même (arrivé à 1h00).Nous avons téléphoné à plusieurs reprises entre 18h00 et 1h20 mais IL NE RÉPONDENT PAS AU TÉLÉPHONE!!!!!!!Le lendemain nous nous rendons chez drivala pour récupérer notre véhicule, on nous fait attendre 1h30 pour nous dire qu’il n’ont pas de véhicule et qu’il fallait téléphoner pour les avertir de notre retard. C’est un mépris flagrant des clients.
À ce jour, ils ne veulent pas nous rembourser sous prétexte que nous ne les avons pas avertis. Je ne peux que vous conseiller de FUIR cette compagnie

Absolute disaster of a company
I booked a Honda CR-V Hybrid through Drivalia and specifically chose this model. Despite the listing showing Honda photos, the small print says “or equivalent.” What I actually received was a 3-year-old MG that had clearly been driven hard.
The pick-up location felt more like a side-hustle operation than a professional rental company — just a small porter cabin. The car was already dirty inside, but I accepted it after negotiating a lower excess by adding an additional driver.
Just a few hours into the rental, the car started overheating badly. I barely made it home. When their roadside assistance arrived, the mechanic told me the engine was knocking and there was no oil in the car. He then had the nerve to ask why I hadn’t checked the oil level when I collected the vehicle.
After multiple stressful phone calls, the car had to be towed. I had to take a taxi back to their office to sort out a replacement or cancellation. After long discussions, I cancelled the booking. It took several months of chasing and countless follow-ups before they finally issued a partial refund. They refused to refund the full unused portion of the rental (I had already paid for a full day I couldn’t use) and did not cover my taxi fare.
This experience was an absolute nightmare. Drivalia’s cars are poorly maintained, their customer service is incompetent, and their refund process is painfully slow and unfair.
Save yourself the headache. If you save £10–20 by renting with them, you risk losing £100s (or more) when things inevitably go wrong. I would not use Drivalia again even if the car was free.
Strongly recommend avoiding this company.

I will never use them again
Edinburgh airport collection was a nightmare. It took over an hour and the staff on the phone were deeply unhelpful and rude. Acted like you as a customer were an inconvenience to their day. Car took ages to be prepared and lacked basics like screen wash. Honestly, saving a few pounds isn't worth it, pay more and go with a more reputable company. This wasn't worth it.

Je souhaite partager mon expérience très décevante avec ce loueur de voiture.
Tout d’abord, malgré le fait que nous avions déjà souscrit une assurance via EasyJet, nous avons été contraints, à en reprendre une sur place (car notre carte était de débit et non de crédit). Cette pratique est clairement abusive
Ensuite, l’agence est située très loin de l’aéroport, ce qui complique inutilement la prise en charge du véhicule.
Concernant la voiture, elle nous a été remise dans un état très médiocre, avec de nombreux impacts et bosses déjà présents. Cela aurait dû nous alerter davantage, car au moment de la restitution, on nous a facturé un pneu prétendument endommagé, alors que nous n’avions absolument rien abîmé.
En résumé, entre les frais supplémentaires injustifiés, l’état du véhicule et le manque de transparence, cette expérience a été très négative. Je déconseille vivement ce loueur, au final ceux en sortie d'aéroport reviennent à un prix plus avantageux avec moins de stress

To ensure a smooth rental process, we provide information regarding our payment and deposit policies at the time of booking and on the confirmation voucher. For clarity, our standard requirements are as follows:
• Security Deposits: We require a pre-authorisation deposit on a credit card in the name of the main driver (starting from £1500).
• Debit Card Use: We do accept debit cards; however, this requires the purchase of an excess waiver package to reduce the excess to zero. UK residents using a debit card must also pass a credit check or provide proof of employment.
• Payment Security: All deposits must be made with a physical card with at least 2 months' validity. We cannot accept virtual cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or cards without visible numbers.
• Exclusions: We do not accept cash or prepaid cards.
