I booked a taxi to EMA and paid for that turned up as expected no problems. However I had also booked a return trip gave my flight number and was informed the status of flight would be checked and driver would be aware of time. However on arrival at EMA to call or message from them. I rang and message said they were currently trying to find a driver but could not give ETA. Not acceptable. I cancelled and used Arrow Taxi at the airport. Really not impressed with DG on this occasion

I had Shaffiq collect me today after being stranded due to running out of fuel. I dont generally take the time to ever leave reviews but wanted to share how prompt, helpful and professional he was. I felt very safe and his service and mannerisms were impeccable. I was very grateful to him for helping me get my car refulled so I could take it home. The world is a better place with you in it Shaffiq, thankyou. And thankyou DG cars for your selection of top tier drivers!

I booked and paid the previous night to have my kids picked up for school. Pickup was for 8am. Fast forward to 8.54am and the driver hadn't showed up. I kept getting a lame "sorry we are doing all we can" as if that would get my kids to school on time. This is a company that should be massively boycotted. The lack of empathy of their operators was simply mind-boggling. I'm really surprised this company still has any customers.....their level of unprofessionalism is through the roof. What a nightmare!

We had pre-booked a transfer from East Midlands Airport to our home and the driver on the way told us to ring the company once we had our luggage. We tried to ring, but all we got was a stupid automated message that recognised me, but said no driver was allocated and they had no idea when our car would arrive. They were 5 options on the Chatbot, none of which we wanted and no way to speak to a human being. We were going to cancel DG and rebook with Arrow Cars at their desk at the airport, but they then told us they had our booking, so why didn't DG tell us to go to the Arrow desk when we booked? Why is it impossible to speak to a human at DG? It was late at night and we wasted so much time trying to contact them. We will never use DG again if this is the awful way they treat customers, but it is really difficult as they almost have a monopoly in the area

Excellent form, drivers make you feel safe and drive well. Recommend this taxi service to anyone. Reliable and excellent

Got a taxi to and from the house where I was staying over Christmas. Both times the drivers arrived very quickly, the fare was cheap, and the drivers were friendly. Shout out to the driver with the black Corola who took me back today, very friendly and carried my large bag to my door.

Shocking company. Taxis only dispatched after their supposed arrival time. We’ve missed restaurant bookings, been late for family/business events. Often more than 30mins late. Never an apology and that’s if they answer their phones. We’ll never use again

I booked a taxi yesterday to pick me up at 08:00. The driver refused to come up to my door to collect me, my drive is c90 metres and I am disabled and use a walking stick. We have a car, my family have cars and delivery persons call at the house regularly, however DG drove off leaving me stranded, he said he would scratch his car. I came home by Uber, directly to my door, no problem. Uber £8:95, DG quoted £10:95-£12. I made my hospital appointment by other means and had a lucky escape in more ways than one. A taxi driver that cannot negotiate a drive is not fit to be on the road. I’ve deleted the App

DONT REGISTER YOUR CARD WITH THIS COMPANY, THEY TAKEN TWO LOTS OF £1.01 FROM MY ACCOUNT TO REGISTER, IT SHOULD ONLY BE £0.01 PLUS YOU DONT GET IT BACK ON YOUR BOOKING EITHER.

I have been a loyal customer of DG for over 20 years but I have noticed of late, a change in attitude. Drivers are sullen and uncommunicative. Operators sometimes hostile but the final insult came yesterday when I booked and prepaid for a car from the Meadow Covert Pub to my home on Mellors Road.
I received a phone call but it only rang twice and didn’t give me time to answer. I went outside in the rain, I am 73 with severe emphysema, so it was not easy."….no sign of a car!!
When I rang the office the operator told I had not been there and I had to rebook and pay again. Matters were made worse by a very aggressive female being very derisive about me in the background!
I have never blanked a car in my life and would not dream of doing so.
The matter was eventually resolved by Peter but after 20 years I would have thought I deserved better treatment than this!,
I shall be using another firm in future as will my wife, my daughters, my grandsons and their many friends!

The company rang me saying I overpaid a driver and that he owes me £10. I was not returned my money and the driver stolen my money. This company is not to be trusted at all. I have had various unpleasant experiences over the years and shall be getting the police involved

Do not use this company. This company clearly regularly scams customers by claiming they have availability, turning up late and then last minute making people buy a second card / more than they need.

We pre-booked an 8 person taxi for 07.30am. At 07.27am we received a call asking how many people we were and that an 8 person car won’t arrive on time. Instead, the company sent 2 cars, which arrived 10 and 25 minutes late. Not only were we late, but we were charged for the 2 cars, at a 30% increase in cost from our original booking. Based upon the scripted response from the man on the phone (Hamza), and the lack of surprise from the taxi driver himself, it was clear that this regularly happens. They refused to compensate us for any additional costs incurred by their late arrival. I tried to talk to them on the phone, and they falsely claimed they had given advance warning and then closed the chat so I could not continue the conversation.

Awful service, flight was delayed to Manchester airport, sole female passenger travelling late at night, and driver was rude, grumpy and downright terrible service, will never use again, used to be much better company when owned by Don Greenwood but not anymore, absolutely abysmal company who don’t care about anything but money

Not bad inward journey even better coming home driver friendly polite funny &chatty good driver even when crowded by another mad driver over taking him

We will never use dg cars again after being left stranded at 11pm last night.
the booking was done through the app and my wife is disabled, but they cancelled 2 minutes after they should have picked us up!
They would not answer when we tried phoning to see why, but when we eventually got home after waiting for Yellow cars who saved the day we rang them and they were full of inadequate excuses.
No adequate explanation and no apology, totally unacceptable and complete lack of customer service!
Will NEVER use this company again.

This taxi company left my special-needs child stranded at School, despite the fact it was prepaid. Trying to get through was an absolute nightmare and I was then told it was my fault because I had cancelled it which was not possible-Not only would I have not done this I was away from my phone all afternoon as a medical health professional in clinic.

When I challenged The fact It wasn’t possible for me to have cancelled this they put the phone down on me,leaving me with no option but to ring round of taxi companies to try and find someone to bring my child home at the busiest time of the day When I actually live in York and my Child is in Nottingham. Appalling.

I booked a taxi and the driver couldn’t find the address they come to every week so he cancelled the ride. I received a refund less an admin fee, the reason, he had been dispatched so I had to pay for him canceling. Back and forth with customer service and they eventually stopped replying. So be warned

Cancelled 3 hours before end of my engagement party
2 cars were booked 2 days previously
1car was for my disabled partner
Ringing me at such short notice is shocking and they have withheld money from me I will seek legal advice against them for monies

If I could give minus stars then I would. I Booked two six seater taxis (for 11 people) a month ago, to pick us up from Holme Pierrepont Hall at 11:59 on Saturday 17th August after my daughter's wedding. By 12:15 there were no taxis. everyone who'd just ordered an Uber was off and away and we were stuck waiting. We rang DG and the call handler had no record of a booking for us. He eventually managed to find one driver who arrived at 12:40. We had three children with us aged 10 and under. This taxi was 40 minutes late and there was no other taxi available, so five of us had to make alternative arrangements. According to DG cars the drivers were organised but were magically unable to fulfil the requirements. It has taken me five days of complaining to even get a refund for the taxi that did not turn up (not that I have received it yet) but apparently the very late taxi fee cannot be refunded because their terms and conditions say that they do not guarantee to turn up on time, they cannot be liable for any costs relating to the delay of a pre booked and paid for taxi. They won't refund any of that cost at all despite the fact that they failed miserably and would not have turned up at all if we hadn't rung them twice. Apparently I can rest assured that feedback has been escalated to the relevant department , which I imagine means I shall hear nothing more about it. DO NOT BOTHER USING THEM!
