Deep Blue Fish and Chips Arvostelua 83

Total rip off. Got large fish and chips from the Market Weighton fish shop, portion size was a joke - I dread to think what a small fish would look like. Plus there was hardly any batter on the fish and the chips were dry and overcooked. Also got peas and a sausage - it all came to nearly £17. Not good value at all.

Well, I popped into this chip shop for pie and chips.
However when I saw how much they where asking for a small pie £4.00. I decided nope, not for me. Then I decided on a large portion of chips. £4.39, well, I stood there waiting to be served. While the young bleached, blonde girl who was originally serving was chatting at the back of the shop with a young lad. I decided to just have chips, because I was hungry. Well after parting with £4.39 of my money, I returned home to eat them. Well, the chips were not the best I've ever had, they where somewhat dry and brown. And with this the chips, where served upto me in a glitzy come tacky cardboard box, with blue ocean printed all over the outside. Now, Blue ocean, can you please justify your extortionate prices. I mean how much does a couple of pealed and chopoed potato's cost cooked in oil? 70/80 Pence ? And as for the little pie, a pound in Iceland or maybe a pukka pie a couple of pounds in Morrisons, but in a bulk purchase from pukka 70 pence to a pound each? Let's face it you know doubt get your stock discounted as do most businesses. So I feel that I am very justified to say. You blue ocean are charging rediculous amounts of money for your goods. That is a whopping, £8.39 for large chips "questionable in size & quality" and a small pie. Really and truly anyone who does actually pass beyond your doorstep into your shop to buy food, has either more money than sense or just needs to wake-up Blue ocean,please please, prove me wrong by criticising the overinflated prices you demand. So prey, tell me, how much does it actually cost for you to create a large portion of chips, and how much do you pay when you buy bulk your little pies? I could continue with your sausages and chicken nuggets, but we'll stick to the costing of pies and chips, just for for now. Oh, I just remembered, how much extra do you charge for that silly little cardboard presentation box? I would prefer to have had my chips in paper and not pay extra for that box. By the way do not ask me to reach out to you on your website, because I won't. Just answer my questions here on your return reply. Personally I don't believe you can justify your prices, so I don't hold up much hope of a genuine answer. But that's fine, I'll keep returning to review you here there and everywhere, until you do or, just stop ripping good people off with your rediculous prices and portion sizes... And don't forget the cost of that customised paint set box, how much do you charge your customers for it. Personally I want all my money back. Especially after reading some of your other negative reviews Aaron, let's face it, you already know how much your actually ripping your customers off.

Just bought a fish and chips and sat and ate it in my car the whole thing was amazing... Will defo be seeing me again

eastney branch, had trouble before with old fish and batter with the pensioners' deals, thought would pay full whack and see. came out dry as anything, the flesh was firm but didn't smell or taste fresh plus a hair baked into the batter, cost over a tenner. had much better elsewhere, maybe it's overcooked. what a waste of a poor fish. tried ringing them to discuss but they too busy to answer phone!

i ordered through uber and was very disappointed to find that my fish was dry and the batter was burnt to a dark brown. the chips were nice but for the price i would expect everything to be good.

Disappointing/Disgusting, worst Fish and Chips ever we had. This was the 3rd or 4th time we bought Fish and Chips from Deep Blue Sunninghil, Ascot. Both the Fish and Chips were Old, Cold, black, when I phoned to complain the next day, the manager said it was a very cold day yesterday, (Thursday 1st of Aug 2024 was one of the warmest days 29c )!!
She also said : “yo wanna some money back or soming or what” !! Which I replied No Thank You.
Please Avoid this place, there are much better Fish and Chips shops in the are, these people don’t deserve to serve food, not for human anyway.

I give up with Thornbury, Bristol Deep Blue Fish and Chips. For over a month they haven't provided a gluten free option for fish and chips! Despite the unique selling point of deep blue and one of the things we really looked forward to when we moved to the area. Massive let down.

Deep blue fish and chips in Helmsley. I had the first order of the day today for me and my nephew and we threw most if it away. Overcooked dark brown to black chips. Fish not much better order number 001. Ordered online and it was a waste of nearly £30

Polsloe Road Exeter shop .....

2nd time we've placed an order and then been totally ignored by staff! Everyone was served their food before us, even the ones who ordered after us. Also far more interested in Deliveroo orders then actual people in the shop. When we questioned this we were told we were the rude ones even though it was obvious the staff were discussing us out the back as one staff member looked directly at us !! Food was luke warm and pretty
much tasteless .... waste of our money and time !

Woburn Sands, Bucks. The fact that the food was tasteless and greasy could be forgiven if it wasn't for the rude service. Such a shame.

Arrived at the Exeter Pinhoe road shop at 17.30 got dry chips left over from the afternoon opening

Deep Blue…where the customer is NEVER right and the owner is ALWAYS RUDE! If you want to get what you don’t want and the owner refuses to correct his mistakes and shouts at you for it…pay them a visit. Don’t bother unless you want awful service and food.

50%chips 50% crumbs.

Have been visiting Deep Blue Horsham for family for many years and worked in town for 14. The staff have always been lovely and we have a laugh and a joke and because of this, I give good tips.. However, I went in today to look at vegan options with a view to eating inside. I had 2 coffee take aways in hand which I'd bought to take home for my family. (spec needs) and was promptly told by a female staff member, 'you can't drink those in here' When I explained I had no intention of drinking them and was taking them home, I wasn't apologised to. I don't usually take offence but as I was alone and had just received some sad news, found the attitude to be cold and unwelcoming. I left in a hurry because they were slow in taking my order and realised my car park payment would run out. Needless to say, I will be going elsewhere in future. ☹

Awful experence at South Parade Pier, Southsea, Portsmouth today. Customer service was poor. Food was poor. Bill was high! Won't be returning!

Overcooked fish dark brown In colour, the batter was too thick, twice the thickness of the fish and greasy.
Quite revolting won't be going back to southsea pier again it used to be very good perhaps they need a new cook.

We often use this restaurant with friends. We really enjoy the fish. The batter is lovely and crispy and the fish simply melts in your mouth. It also takes me back to my childhood with the dandelion and burdock.The food is really yummy. Mags is very attentive by serving us with a smile and is very efficient.
They also do a takeaway service which agin, I cannot fault. By the time we get home, the food is still be lovely and hot.

Very good experience love coming here great staff & great food

Southsea pier Portsmouth...A very mediocre meal..mussels broken and very gritty, batter on fish hard and chips that tasted and looked like they had been under a heat lamp for ages, also a very old looking fish and chip restaurant very tired and bleak. Shame used to be wonderful there :( won't be going back

I ordered a haddock fillet received 6 bits of fish not even goushons
Broke largest price open it was translucent, grey and rubbery obviously raw but the staff said it cannot be raw because we checked it with a temperature probe!
It was raw straight in the bin will not stop again.
