Damp Detectives Ltd  Arvostelua

Qualified, experienced, professional and independent, precisely what we needed.

Got to the heart of the problem very quickly and saved me a fortune by not engaging in unnecessary building work.

If you have damp, I strongly recommend consulting the Damp Detectives first so you know what you're dealing with. It costs a bit of money, but it pays off in the long run.

Tim made a visit to our flats, to carry out a survey on one that was experiencing damp issues, he was efficient and helpful on site, also providing a report on the issues, the cause and the suggested remedies, the service was very prompt and thorough.

Tim inspected my home in Southampton.
I got the impression I got the ost honest assessment that I could possibly get and I am extremely satisfied with the service provided.

Liam from the Cambridge division has helped us with a damp issue in our house in Saffron Walden. Liam was very responsive in setting up appointments. He kept in contact throughout the process as I was not at the property which is rented. He provided a very detailed report with photos and a glossary which explained all the findings in layman's terms.

Liam followed up with a phone call to ensure we understood everything and to answer any questions. He recommended a company for remedial work and was courteous and professional throughout. I would highly recommend using Damp Detectives and Liam in particular.

My buyer's mortgage company insisted on a full damp report after it was identified in a level 2 survey and would not release funds. Bryony from Damp Detectives Suffolk was excellent. Not only was she able to complete to survey at short notice, she also went above and beyond to ensure the written report was forwarded to the correct people as I was out of the country at the time. The report was thorough yet concise and her telephone calls were informative and polite. I'd whole heartedly recommended the advice of Damp Detectives when a specialist damp report is required

Tim from Damp Detectives came to identify a problem that had been previously missed by another damp company. We then had follow up questions which he was happy to answer. He was honest and gave a comprehensive report which we've been able to use in a case against the previous company.

Scott from Damp Detectives was really helpful identifying the damp issues in our flat. The communication was great before, during and after the survey. Thanks again!

Johnathan from damp detectives did a very thorough damp report on our victorian house, as well as highlighting a few other issues. He did a great job, was reliable and a good communicator and offered practical solutions and advice, as well as answering my many questions. I would definitely recommend Johnathan and team. Thank you Amy

Andy Farley has been extremely helpful throughout the process of preparing a damp survey during my flat sale. Quick to reply to my initial query, he listened to my considerations both over the phone and in person, and prepared a report that satisfied the request of my buyer for further information.

Knowing that the team at Damp Detectives are independent, and not trying to sell you damp proofing products and services, is also a source of huge reassurance. I would definitely recommend this firm.

Darren did a damp survey on a Victorian era house I am buying in Oxford after my original RICS survey identified damp readings. Very clear and fast communication and got the full report to me very quickly. He understands old houses and the report was really useful in terms recommending a range of things that could be done that fit with the age of the house (rather than just injecting a chemical DPC). Highly recommend the Damp Detectives

Tim Platt (Damp Detectives - Southern) was great from start to finish - he replied promptly to emails and phone calls, and was able to both fit us in for a survey and then produce a detailed report at short notice in order to keep our house purchase on track - all at a competitive price.

Scott of Damp Detectives was very professional, reliable and friendly. Survey was very detailed and supplied promptly. Highly recommend his survey service.

I’d highly recommend Scott. Very knowledgeable and thorough when visiting our property. The report was exactly what we needed to make informed decisions.

The Damp Detectives (Tim Platt) replied very fast to my messages, came and looked at the Bristol house very promptly, checked it very thoroughly for damp (even under the floor and in the attic), and wrote a very helpful report describing the current state of the house with suggestions on how to improve it.
Their fee was what we were expecting.

Damp Detectives Ltd provided a satisfactory service. The team was knowledgeable, thorough, and helpful in addressing damp issues with our home. While the advice was clear and useful, the solutions were basic and sometimes felt overly simplistic. Improvements were suggested to help with ventilation and drainage, but certain aspects lacked deeper analysis. Overall, an average experience.

I met with Jonathan Young this morning and he was brilliant, he answered all my questions and provided detailed explanations. They confirmed what the problem I had was and also provided helpful solutions to mitigate/ resolve the impact. Well worth the money and reassuring to know exactly what I am dealing with.

We had some damp issues and questions about our house, and we wanted to get advice and information on what we could do without getting sold unnecessary services and products.

Darren (Oxford and Swindon) was incredibly knowledgable and informative, and answered all of our questions in an easy to understand way and gave very useful and actionable advice. We definitely recommend this service.

We've had damp and mould problems in our house for over a year now without fully understanding the root cause. Our insurers sent round a leak specialist which was useful but felt more like an exercise is denying a claim rather than providing useful remediation advice. We therefore looked for a fully independent damp specialist and found good reviews for Damp detectives. Jonathan is professional, courteous, knowledgeable and, importantly, fully independent. He conducted a thorough survey, identified our root causes and provided a comprehensive report. We now feel confident addressing the issues and should finally be without the damp and mould issues. Highly recommended.

We have spent three winters trying to solve an issue with condensation on our aluminium windows. Tim came to see us with his box of fancy gadgets and meters and was able to demonstrate exactly the problem to all the interested parties. His straight talking attitude and subsequent clear and succinct report is exactly what we needed.

Very good value for money, excellent advice, wish we'd spoken to him sooner.

Andy visited us in February to undertake survey and investigate areas of suspected damp and mould in two rooms, which has given us a way forward. Full report followed later. Recommended The Extraction Group who have now extracting wool insulation from our cavity walls (just over a month since Andy's visit) - insulation was no longer effective. Exploring two other ideas that were given to us before we redecorate the rooms.
