Thomas Damp Surveys is an independent damp surveyor providing damp surveys and moisture assessments across Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire (the Three Counties), as well as surrounding areas. I carry out clear, unbiased damp and moisture assessments for homeowners, buyers and landlords. This is often following a RICS survey where damp has been highlighted, or where there is uncertainty about what is actually going on. Unlike damp proofing contractors, I do not sell treatments or carry out remedial work. My role is purely diagnostic, so there is no sales angle and no conflict of interest. The focus is on identifying the cause of damp and moisture problems through careful inspection, moisture readings and an understanding of how the building is performing. This allows clients to make informed decisions without unnecessary expense. Surveys typically involve issues such as condensation, mould, ventilation and defects within the building fabric. In many cases, problems that are assumed to be rising damp are found to have other causes. Reports are written in plain English, setting out what has been found, what it means in practical terms, and what should be done next. If you are dealing with damp concerns, mould, musty smells or moisture that isn’t fully understood, I provide straightforward, independent advice based on what is actually there across Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Gloucestershire and the surrounding areas.

For anyone seeking an independent damp survey, look no further; his advice is straightforward, honest, and entirely free from sales pressure. While a previous company recommended thousands of pounds in unnecessary DPC injections, Stephen identified the true root cause of the damp. He has a professional, thorough manner and explains his findings clearly. His survey fee is incredibly reasonable, especially considering the significant costs saved by avoiding incorrect remedial work. Highly recommended.

Outstanding service from Stephen

Outstanding service from Stephen. From the initial enquiry to the final report was only 4 days. He really gave us piece of mind going forward with a house purchase that had highlighter areas of damp. He conducted an extremely thorough inspection and made honest and detailed recommendations going forward. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone if you require an independent honest damp survey conducted. 5 stars!

Professional and thorough

I instructed Thomas Damp surveys to carry out a damp inspection following a leak from guttering and a bathroom in my home which had been left longer than ideal. I found the service provided to be extremely professional and approachable, with the surveyor arriving promptly, carrying out a thorough inspection and explaining his findings clearly, and the report arrived the very same day. I would not hesitate to recommend this company.
