Currys - York Arvostelua 

I needed a new mobile phone and I went to Curry’s as they had offers on the phone I wanted. Very helpful and knowledgable staff and although the phone was not in store it was delivered to me the following day by courier. First class service with security that ensured it was delivered to me. I had made an appointment to take my old phone into the store so that all the information could be transferred and this again was done in a very professional manner. I am delighted with the overall service that I received.

I'd been comparing a few options before ordering from currys and ended up finding exactly what i needed within my budget. The product information was clear and the staff member I spoke to answered my questions without trying to push me towards something more expensive

The order arrived on time and everything was packed properly, and the whole process was straightforward. No unnecessary hassle or chasing updates.

On 2/7/2026 I purchased a Bestway 10'X30' garden pool via Currys online. The website suggested it was in stock with a 2 day delivery to store. To purchase the pool I bought a gift card via the blue light discount scheme that offered a slight overall discount.
The order was initially confirmed by email, shortly followed by a "problem with your order" email.
On contacting Currys, I was told that they could not fulfill the order and therefore it was cancelled and was told I would get a refund on the gift card.
It has now been 2 months, 5+ phone calls to Currys online, 2 store visits, 1 Letter, 2 requests for a manager to contact me which I was assured would happen in 24-48 hours (guess what.... no call) , 1 complaint logged with a case number, and still no gift card refund.
Today 1/9/26 was told the gift card was redeemed in my local store on the 22/8/24 (a day I was away)and to visit the store. Another trip to store to be told this would never happen.
Overall treated with compete indifference, store can't help with on-line orders and contacts the same number I do , computer says refund was actioned in store, unable to speak to anyone directly that is able or willing to assist.
Right now I would just like a refund of the money I spent on the gift card ( but thats not company policy !)as given my customer service experience I will never shop or recommend anyone shops at Currys. Only positive is the York branch staff tried to help but seem to be hampered by the companies processes.

Update 16/9/2026. Still no refund. Email sent to address in Margo’s response below remains unanswered. Complaint letter remains unacknowledged. Further phone call with no progress. Have received a phone call from the store saying someone was looking in to it and would ring me back the same day…… 4 days ago.

Called in today to purchase a 4k osmo camera.The one on display was bolted down so couldnt feel the quality of the product.After waiting 10 mins for a staff member to come over to us i was told that i would not be able to take a look & feel what one was like & they said that they wouldnt be able to help me.
If im spending just short of £500 i want to feel the quailty of the product before i purchase one.
Currys well done i will be purchasing one from another retailer who will let me see one out of the box.

I was NOT called before delivery so was doing something else I had to drop

Bought a Samsung TV sept last year. Last night the tv stop working. I have spent the full day today and last night trying to resolve this issue. Currys have now said i have to wait approx a wek for the tv to be taken away and the upto 28 days for repair leaving my home with no TV. Ombudsman will be contacted tomorrow. Think twice before purchasing as if it breaks you will have a nightmare. Avoid currys at all cost.!!!!!

Looked to update old kitchen appliances that we acquired when we bought our new house. Had a good range online at Currys and in store, so you can physically see and try the items which I prefer. The staff member knew her stuff and was very helpful and patient. We chose Hotpoint fitted in appliances for performance and price. Would definitely recommend. The delivery was quick and easy and the delivery staff were lovely.

Poor dishwasher installation. This is an integrated dishwasher and the installer misaligned the door, so there is a gap on the side, and he left without checking that the kitchen plinth underneath would fit. It doesn't fit - the door was also screwed in too low. I've had to cut the plinth myself, leaving some mdf exposed where there should have been a gloss finish. I gave a 1 in my review to Currys when asked about my experience, explained why it had been so bad, and no one followed up. I'm annoyed about this.

Tried to change delivery date couldn't download app, rang automated line after five mins spoke to a lady with an accent who sounded as if she was underwater. Gave up and will have to call in store. I've paid £85 for delivery etc very poor service
