Signing up to CreditLadder is simple and only takes a few minutes. Register your details and once completed, connect your bank account to provide CreditLadder with read only access. You keep paying your rent as you do today - CreditLadder does not collect your rent.
Each month CreditLadder will match the rent payments you have made to your landlord or letting agent through the secure bank connection you’ve created. This information is then shared with Experian, Equifax, TransUnion and Crediva and will appear on the respective statutory reports.
CreditLadder has been reporting rent payments since 2016, is regulated by the FCA, and has reported over £1bn in rent payments.
CreditLadder has also been recognised for its work by the Government, when HM Treasury announced it was the biggest winner of their Rent Recognition Challenge competition.

I must be incredibly lucky
I must be incredibly lucky, as my experience was awful. Basic information was not recorded properly. Upon trying to amend this, they again made errors, and had to delete my account, wasting my time (though at least they managed to action this correctly). This notion that credit agencies won't confirm historical instances/records is beyond a joke, considering it is the very basis of their 'business'. Which leads me to my one positive in this experience...I did learn that there are campaigns around regulatory action emerging around ALL of these companies which have grown around the gamification and access to credit records. This insidious profiteering which dictates our access to basic services, in our daily lives, should either not exist at all (instead a centralised system where we have control of our data, not the other way around) or be heavily regulated. Going on the track record illustrated by privatisation of every other vital institution and service, its unsurprising that may see the former presenting the most obvious case.

In the meantime, we offer a free service for tenants to report their ongoing rental payments, it’s available to everyone in the UK over 18 who wants to build their credit history through rent.

If you rent, CreditLadder is a must-have!
I've always thought that having a good rental history should be something a person can capitalise on when it comes to their credit score. In over 20 years of being a private renter I've never missed a single payment, but until I found CreditLadder, I was never rewarded for that. Many years ago I took out an IVA and when it was settled I had a lot of rebuilding of my credit score to do, and I don't doubt that CreditLadder helped greatly with that. 5 years later, I have an excellent credit score, and just bought my first house - which is the only reason I've closed my account. Best platform for credit scores
Someone told me about credit ladder a few years ago, and it was the best platform to use as a renter, the past 8yrs, who has paid every month in time and without any defaults.
