Very professional call handler with clear information regarding the many issues I had. I felt a lot more confident that affairs of finance have been handled correctly by close brothers after a small blip at the beginning of my finance arrangement. All is well now thanks 😊

They think its ok to sell you cars that need constant repairs this car is parked up broken but yet I still have to pay and they make the excuse saying ive had it to long to warrant any complaint, 1st and last time getting a car on finance and if I di I certainly wouldn't use close brothers

I had car insurance with darwin who used this company for monthly payments. They sent me a confusong final statement at the end of my insurance which looked like my payments were finished. I cancelled my direct debit and went with another insurance company. I didnt realise i was paying my insurance after the month had passed instead of at the beginning of the month. The next day i was hit with additional fees for me cancelling my direct debit as there was another payment due. I paid it straight away online but after paying it took me to a page saying i could be fined again if i didnt set up another direct debit with them. I called and spoke to the most irritating woman i've ever spoken to. I expressed my concerns about the confusing emails and website threats but she kept interupting me, speaking over me and arguing the point i was trying to make about it being confusing for the consumer. She didnt care and eventually i hung up on her. I will be doing everything in my power to not use this company again. Their system is rubbish and it felt like they dont care about their customers and have designed their business to fleece customers any way they can. I'm aware it was my error but if they had sent the final statement AFTER i'd finished paying, i wouldn't have been charged extra fees for cancelling my direct debit. Their way of dealing with customers who already feel let down by them, is to argue and wind them up so they never come back again. Not the best way for repeat custom.

Your response is also confusing. Why do you want me to contact you? You have my number and email. You would get through straight away without having to wait 10 minutes to speak to me too. Or is it you want to waste even more of my time?
It's pretty obvious to me the 'nice' response is just a smoke screen to future customers. We both know how you really treat customers when they are no longer of any use to you. How about you call me and refund the excessive charges? Now that would be a nice gesture after the appauling service you have delivered.

Bought a car from Platinum SA Motors in January 12th but wasnt given it until 16th due to having issues like injector seals and air suspension pump, after messaging back and forth managed to get hold of the vehcile. Around March time messaged dealer stating issues with air suspension issues with Q7 and not getting much replies until he stopped responding, also started noticing a timing chain noise when purchased but dealer said this is a normal sound and doesnt have any issues. June 16 took the Q7 for a service to local delaership for a service and was told the car needs a new timing chain and a front seal as its saturated in oil, called close brothers to inform them about this issue and case was noted.

June 23rd was told they have received everything and will have an outcome date of 11th August. Sent over their independent engineers who advised close brothers that the car has more than one fault and was sold with all these fualts at the time of sale and the dealership should be held accountable.

After reviewing everything the casehandler, advised me to get private invoices to get the car fixed which i did and then got told that i need to hold back as the dealership has came back so everything has to be done in a lawful manner. Dealership didnt want to be help accountable so sent his own engineer down using the broker Car money and stated that his engineer said its the customers fault for causing the timing chain issue.

Fast forward till last week, dealership hasnt been replying, closebrothers have been extending the dates so they might reply been 3 weeks and got a reply last week Thursday 20th stating can we have one more day 21st. Still no reply back and my case handler has gone on annual leave.

Case handler Nontobeko whos dealing with my case is very useless doesnt know how to resolve a case doesnt bother replying to your emails and when you do eventually call her and get through she says no update and will extend the date to another week or 2 which she has been doing with me since the start of August.

Vehcile has been sitting on my drive since 16th June, nothing is being done they just like going in circles. Id advise stay clear away from Closebrothers and go for some other finance provider.

I opened a complaint with Close Brothers Motor Finance after buying a van from a dealer they finance. I was initially told that the matter would be dealt with within around 40 days.

After only a week, I received a call from their team, but the call was disconnected during the conversation. I received no follow-up email and nobody called me back. The following week, I had to contact them myself. I was told I would receive a call back within a couple of hours. It was Monday, but I did not hear back until four days later.

When I finally received the call, I was asked questions that I found very frustrating and, in my view, irrelevant to the actual issue, including whether I had evidence of how the vehicle was advertised at the time of purchase.

The van is a 2019 vehicle with a standard AdBlue system. After driving approximately 1,800 miles, I discovered that the AdBlue warning system had been disabled. I took the vehicle to a garage and provided Close Brothers with evidence showing that the AdBlue system had been disabled electronically.

Despite providing evidence, I was repeatedly directed back to the supplying dealer rather than seeing the matter properly investigated by Close Brothers.

My main concern is not simply the vehicle issue, but the way my complaint has been handled. The communication has been slow, I have had to chase for updates, calls have not been followed up, and I do not feel that the evidence I provided has been properly considered.

Based on my experience, I found the complaint-handling process frustrating and unprofessional. I would strongly recommend that anyone financing a vehicle through Close Brothers carefully considers how complaints and vehicle-related problems are handled before choosing them.

I had a query which was answered online. Prior to that my experience with telephone calls were very helpful.

Very poor customer service. This company did a hard credit search on my credit file. I queried this as I don't have any finance with close brothers. They checked their systems and agreed that they have none of my details on any of their systems. Even after giving my details again to there for clarification. To date they have yet to remove this search which they should do as its Incorrect Information. This is clarified by them having no applications from me at all. They also do not reply to emails after they have sent a response to me.

Therefore I rate this company 1 seat at best. Zero if I could as I have nothing to do with them yet they for some reason are allowed to leave a hard credit search on my file and not do anything about it even though they say I don't have any applications with them or that they can see any information about me at all on any of there computer systems

The level of customer service from this company is appalling. I have logged 2 complaints in 2 months due to this and they still haven’t been able to resolve the issue.
I have asked on many occasions for my payment date to be amended from the 1st of every month to the 15th due to circumstances changing. I am heavily pregnant and need to think about finances moving forward. I was told on multiple occasions the request had been submitted for the change and if there were any issues I would be contacted. I had no contact from anyone following this so assumed all was ok. I then went on to find they had applied for the payment on my original payment date due to there being an issue with the payment date request. I had then cleared the arrears on the account and was told it was going to be updated going forward.. to then find they had applied for the payment again on the original date. I am now the one left in a mess financially due to this company and the most they want to offer me is £50 compensation and tell me they can’t amend the date after all this stress and I need to make 2 months payments in one to get the account up to date and being able to amend the date due to their error. Absolute shambles of a company. I have had finance for 10 years and these have been the worst company by far. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

So i had a contract on 28th of june of finance approved and signed via a local car dealer which i never took it further since i called it off and cancelled the very next day on 29th of june within 14 days cooling off period with the dealer.
Upon checking with close brother after 10 days, it was still not cancelled. So i was told to speak to my car dealer as only he can get it cancelled, and i called the car dealer again and nothing happened for the next 20 days and was charged as per the direct debit set up, which could have been avoided if close brother had my contract cancelled on time so i paid for something i never took. Now it's been nearly 2 months which left me waiting on my refund. I have called them at least 10 times altogether and i was told to call us back for the refund. I called, and the customer services telling me that there is nothing mentioned that I'm getting a refund. Poor customer services and I'm still waiting for my refund and i would appreciate if someone could get back to arrange my money to be refunded. At least try to do the right thing and give me my money back.
Why it seems that close brother's finance waited for my initial time to finish so they can charge me??
I never had the car nor the money so why I'm paying for pre settlement?? It should be charged to the dealer as he has the finance money. This sounds fraud to me.

Close brothers sent me an email to say they are terminating my finance. I’ve been with them since 2023. I’m not sure if it’s a scam, can anyone confirm this is true?

To update my previous review; I contacted the company and they explained in detail what was happening. They do not work alongside Close Brothers any longer. The letter was confusing and j thought my insurance would stop but it doesn’t, my monthly payments will be taken out by a different company and my insurance will continue as normal…panic over!!!

Keep sending silly emails. It’s not my choice of finance it just that Van dealership wanted to use these guys I guess for the commission but they know how to get on your nerves with emails..

i have phoned up reported my problems with the car i purchased the finance company told me to phone them if i had any more issues that is what I have done but the evidence i have sent to them are not acceptable even though everything is there in black and white. the complaint handling my case would not listen to me at all. very poor service.
