Sam Cross is awesomely wonderful, my encounter with him is one of the best. He proved himself to be customer oriented who understands the importance of meeting individual needs without compromising company policies and professionalism.

My experience with Clever Let Lettings was extremely disappointing, and I would not recommend them to other students.
From the beginning, communication was poor. There were so many different agents involved that I was constantly given different information. I was initially told that bills were included in my rent, but when it came time to sign the tenancy agreement, I found out they were not. This was very frustrating and left me paying much more than I had expected.
The condition of the property when I moved in was unacceptable. In my experience, it was dirty and not properly prepared for a new tenant. I am a full-time student, and living in those conditions had a negative impact on my wellbeing. I even became unwell while living there.
I also felt that I was treated with very little respect throughout my tenancy. I was asked to leave the property, and the whole experience was stressful. Although I did eventually receive my deposit back after spending a lot of time cleaning the property myself, I felt that I was not treated fairly.
As an international student, this experience has been particularly upsetting. I expected honesty, clear communication, and professionalism, but unfortunately that was not my experience.
If you are a student looking for accommodation, I encourage you to read reviews carefully and fully understand your tenancy agreement before signing. Based on my experience, I would not choose Clever Let Lettings again.

Sam Cross was brilliant. Very efficient, very knowledgable. Couldn't be happier. Moving out can be a stressful ordeal, but Sam's aptitude for great customer service has made it significantly less so.

Very fast responses and support offered from Charlotte. We had issues with entering our property and we were in within the hour.

It's been 4 years since I stopped renting with CSL after countless maintenance issues, mould, leaks going unfixed etc., and I still haven't had my deposit back or evidence that it was protected! Despite me sending evidence in the form of propertyfile receipts, bank statements, and emails from CSL, they still claim I never paid it and have kept it for themselves! I don't know how they get away with this. They are a horrible company who make a profit from scamming and stealing from students.

Sam took us around 4 houses and really took his time to find me and my friends the right student accomodations. He took so much pressure off us and we are looking forward to moving in come September.

I would not rate Clever highly due to repeated experiences that reflect a lack of support and consideration for their students. Throughout my tenancy, I have encountered multiple unresolved issues within my apartment, including a broken toilet, non-functioning lights from the first day, mould, and other maintenance concerns that were not addressed in a timely manner.

Additionally, there have been several instances where significant changes were made with very little notice, which created unnecessary stress and inconvenience. When attempting to raise these concerns, communication with Clever has often felt dismissive, with responses frequently consisting of explanations rather than effective solutions.

Another ongoing issue is the difficulty in reaching relevant departments such as accounts and maintenance, there rarely seems to be anyone available when assistance is needed, which only adds to the frustration.

Overall, my experience has been disappointing, and I would not recommend Clever as a letting agency. If you are considering off campus accommodation, I strongly encourage you to research thoroughly, as I am sharing this to help others avoid a similarly frustrating experience.

Great place to go, they dominate Plymouth! And Sofia that works there is a dream, so very helpful! :)
