5* above & beyond service
Fantastic service from start to finish. No pressure at all when looking and during the test drive. Knowledgeable, professional and very understanding when I needed to change the car I'd ordered. I can't recommend enough and am a happy repeat customer.

How fast do you think all that is reasonably rectifiable?!?! Everyone please please stay away from this company, we have reported them to the ombudsman, the dvla and tradings agency! They sold my family a dangerously faulty vehicle and are willing to do the same again!
Update: writing this from my prison cell as apparently the owner called the police on me and my partner 🙄 yet more lies and cover up tactics from a shoddy business.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS FAULTY…
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS FAULTY SELLING CAR GARAGE.
I purchased a JEEP RENEGADE KW17 KHT (Just in case anyone finds this car back on auto trader from this horrendous place) as a family upgrade as we have a 5-week-old daughter, this should have been an exciting and happy experience/purchase. How wrong I could be that there are still vile human beings out there that sell faulty mouldy cars.
Using the garages Nationwide delivery for added fee this was meant to add ease to our situation (as said before I forgot that vile humans still sell faulty cars and had a very small second of confidence in this garage), unfortunately as soon as the car was delivered and inspected it was full of mould which was found in the boot and throughout the cabin of the car, a damaged indicator and a door that wouldn’t shut. The complete lack of care and laziness from the staff luckily for us meant that the car was left with mould throughout on delivery (couldn’t even be bothered to give the car a once over) which then led to a further inspection from a garage. Upon then taking this car to the garage in which are also appalled that the car was ever handed to us in such a state found, water damage – a flooded passenger footwell, mould throughout the car and in turn now damage to the electrics.
This car was meant to be an upgrade and bought for the safety of our 5-week-old daughter which was mentioned several times over the phone when purchasing to both employers.
The mould in particular is a great concern to developing lungs and the huge volume of water found in the car, I am a respiratory nurse and know what damaging effects this could have or had in the future on our daughter, especially if the car was not inspected and the leak was not found in a timely manner.
The customer service was absolutely appalling leaving my partner and I with no solution or car for over a week – please all read past reviews for this company as Kevin (the owner) sets a tone for himself with arguing his points with the previous customers that he has also taken the pleasure in selling faulty cars. Don’t be fooled by the polite manner presented before the coward of an owner gets your money, as soon as the transaction was made, we were met with arrogance, lies and limited communication.
Kevin felt the best solution for this horrendous situation we were left in (with a unsafe car that was advised should not be driven by another garage) was that the car be returned but he would deduct £500 for using a delivery service from the total refund given – even though car scene breached the contract under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 by selling me a dangerous car that was not as described, not fit for purpose, and not of a satisfactory quality which entitles me to a full refund with no further costing, but of course Kevin showed no compassion or remorse for this situation and shock was not willing to pay for our travel fees. Kevin also at no stage has been present in any of these complaints and even when returning the car after a 400-mile trip decided to hide around the corner “In his yard”. The worrying signs of taking no accountability of allowing this faulty, mould covered car off his forecourt and using the pathetic excuse of the car having a “independent” dodgy MOT by the garage he owns shows the true unprofessional and unkind manner of this owner and no doubt will continue to do this to other customers in the future.
Of course, no compensation, or travel was offered to be paid, leaving us with a £377 travel bill to return a car that should have never been sold which has caused overwhelming stress to our lives.

5 star service from start to finish
The sales guys (Ross & Lee) were amazing from start to finish. We called to make an appointment and Ross answered all our questions over the phone prior to this. When we arrived, Lee showed us around the car and took us for a test drive before completing the sale. The process was really good in that Ross then communicated with us keeping us informed about the progress. Very happy with our purchase and we will definitely be back again.

Old fashioned pleasant service with excellent value for money
Its always tricky to get the balance of how much to pay for a car and what you might get. Having started with a main dealer and preferring to pay a great deal less, we decided to look for our X3 from an independent dealer. We were assured by the AA warranty being available which we took advantage and purchased a 3 year warranty. We bought a 2014 BMW X3 with which we are delighted. We first dealt with Lee who is the main salesperson and is fairly laid back. We drove a long way from Chelmsford to view the car and were very pleased with everything. A week later when the car had been MOT`d and given a light service everything is as we would hope for. Excellent value for money and really very pleasant service. For the record we were downsizing from a 2021 Jaguar i pace as my wife is going to be an upholsterer and needs a bigger boot so we were not upgrading from a heap! Franky I would prefer to deal with Carscene any day rather than a main dealer again. No pressures to buy unnecessary insurances. Handover took around 10 minutes, just good old fashioned pleasant service. many thanks from Roy and Karen
I'm avoiding Carscene, you should do the same!
I'll keep this shorter than it would otherwise be.
I desperately needed another car before Christmas.
Carscene had a Zafira Tourer, that I paid for using a bank transfer that I bought based on the online pictures and conversation.
- They gave me a load liner for the dog, which was nice and picked me up from the station, also nice.
-You are made to sign the sales receipt twice, once to say that all repairs are via the warranty company, which seems very much against your consumer rights and set alarm bells ringing!
The car looked okay, but it had rained, so couldn't see much.
- There wasn't so much as paper mats, let alone carpet mats in the footwells.
-The bodywork was appalling, especially on the nearside. I had to spend hours polishing with Tcut to remove large scuffs and minimise scratches.
-The rear tyres were very poor in the wet. 1 was a winter tyre the sidewall so worn you couldn't determine the brand; clearly a part worn, the other a summer tyre over 7 years old. They had non matching wear patterns.
-The brake discs could double as dinner plates, due to the lip on them.
- So much water was inside the car from a long time leaking boot seal, you couldn't read the VIN in the windscreen!
- The A/C needed to be recharged by me as it didn't work.
-Much of the vehicle has poor quality repair work, with sloppy painting to the rear bumper, tailgate, non blended paint the full length of the nearside sill and dust embedded in the bonnet paint with numbers in black felt tip that I'd only seem on accident repaired cars. I stopped looking as there was only so much disappointment I could take.
-Carscene only aspires to minimum safe standards, as they said the tyres and brakes were ok as they'd passed an MOT.
-Carscene stated that the car was nearer the scrapyard than new.
-Carscene felt that changing the boot seal and grill wasn't something many garages would do. Someone should tell Carscene its called preparing a vehicle for sale, however minimally!
-The clutch pedal on occasion wouldn't return and I had to hook it up with my foot and the engine had all manner of weird noise, I even posted a video on You Tube.
The vehicle failed in a dangerous position pulling out into 2 way traffic the clutch pedal went to the floor and stalled the car across both lanes with grandchildren on board.
Considering Carscenes insistence that all claims go through the warranty I got a claim authorised (for a master cylinder), but my local garage and Carscene were adamant it was the slave cylinder. Carscene did get the claim amended, but the maximum claim was £500 for a job that takes several hours, so there'd be additional cost to me.
-This vehicle wasn't a quality vehicle in any way and comes off as a cheap part exchange that's just washed, vacuumed and put up for sale.
In my experience, Carscene buys a cheap car, slaps on a cheap warranty; which doesn't cover a lot, and pockets the retail profit.
The lack of a decent warranty under consumer rights legislation and/or the after market warranty just means the aggravation, stress, inconvenience, financial liability and legal process are yours to enjoy!
Needless to say I'm looking for another vehicle and it will most definitely not be from Carscene,
Edit1(Based on Carscenes reply): I had no way of knowing you get notified by phone of reviews, however it is your responsibility to set notifications/do not disturb applicable to you. It is none of your business when I choose to use the internet and unprofessional of you to bring your family in to this, let alone using them to try to deflect criticism . Your 'stringent checks' clearly need a LOT of work. It was a rainy period, but I notified you of the all issues via a signed for registered letter, that you received. The response from you was as I stated above. More than happy to post my both my letter and your email response in this review. My local garage did NOT replace the incorrect component at all, they want to change the slave. It was the AA warranty advised changing the master, due to intermittent fault, and as I said you assisted getting that changed. The slave was replaced under warranty. However it was your LEGAL responsibility to fix fix this fault. I should not have to stress about fixing it, you should. You insisted I should have spoken to you first, DESPITE your own sales receipt stating to go via the AA warranty. The labour rate on the warranty is low and your part estimate is low. I forgot to mention that like others I had to drive on fumes to get to a fuel station. Your mechanics made the split in the bumper was more visible and if a Vauxhall specialist determines that the clunky gears is a gearbox fault, then as advised this will see us meeting in court. Shame, you could have made a me a believer, but it wasn't to be. Your website say you sell "quality used cars", tell me where is the quality here?

Recently purchased a BMW Z4 from Carscene and couldn't believe how hassel free the whole experience was No pressuring very friendly honest team
Had a problem with the parking sensors which Kevin dealt with straight away with no cost to me and a courtesy car thrown in while my car was being fixed I highly recommend if your looking for a car with a genuinely honest hassel free team
Terrific service. Terrific car
I must leave feedback for this company because my own experience has been nothing but positive. Despite buying one of the cheapest cars it had for sale, I was treated as though I were its most valued customer. I discovered my Merc had a couple of niggles and they were rectified without question or charge. The car is an utter joy. Thank you so much.
We looked on website for a ford kuga…
We looked on website for a ford kuga rang up made an appointment to view car Gareth done the viewing no hard sell decided we wanted to buy I messed up online forms so for the next few days Gareth went out of his way to sort this was the Monday / Tuesday rang me Wednesday afternoon to say it was all sorted the car was ready to pick up Saturday morning on the Thursday had a problem with the tyer management system spoke to Gareth who had the car back in and sorted the problem out even lent my wife a car so she could get home definitely 5 🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸 and thank you Gareth and the team
Please please heed my warning
Horrendous company to deal with, in their 40 yrs of trading (as I was constantly reminded), they clearly didn't learn what customer experience is. Arrogance and absolute zero customer care seems to be their speciality.
For some context, I had the engine management light appear 6 miles after picking the car up, this light along with another engine warning light turned out to be a costly repair involving the turbo, (costing me close to £800) one that took several weeks to resolve and the threat of court action/prompting by my finance company was needed to push Mr Sunshine at Carscene into offering any money towards the costs. I sincerely regret ever contacting these people to buy one of their cars.
There was a half hearted offer to return the car back to the dealership that same day, however, this was at 6pm and 275 miles away from my home, so entirely unfeasible. The arrogance from Carscene was shocking from the outset, telling me that the only way the repairs would be carried out was if I was to drive 275miles to get the repairs done, and then 275miles back home, ridiculous and unfeasible. They refused to collect the car, refused to honor or even acknowledge the consumer rights act and were happy to allow me to drive a car with a faulty turbo which potentially could have resulted in serious engine problems or even an accident at speed.
The AA (WMS) warranty that the car was sold with is an entirely separate joke, read their reviews for any context - about as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike.
I did have the option of returning the car for a full refund, however I thought to try and make it easier for Carscene, that I would give them the opportunity to rectify the issues first, even offering them the ability to choose a local garage to me to do the repairs. I ended up giving Carscene 4 chances over 4 weeks to resolve the issues and as mentioned, only the threat of legal action prompted this gaggle of clowns to act.
Quite a long and unfunny joke to be honest, I seriously urge you to take heed of the bad reviews, I only wish I had read more into them before buying, this company doesn't have the first idea about customer care. Pathetic really in this day an age, picture a dodgy car salesman from the 80's and the clown that runs this shoddy firm is who you will picture.
Carscene also charge a £50 admin fee, presumably this was something they implemented in the 90's to cover the cost of paperwork, it certainly isn't something a company in 2022 should be charging - its meant to include "at least £20 of fuel"......I was directed to the closest petrol station by one of the jokers from the dealership as the car was running on fumes!
Addition: As you can see from the petulant and pathetic response, arrogance is the order of the day. The classic line 'its an 8yr old used car' is the standard bs that all dodgy used car salesman whip out when they have absolutely NOTHING else to counter with. Kevin is a liar too, no courtesy car was offered or even mentioned! I even had to apply for the V5 because the clown parade at Carscene hadn't bothered to change owner. Utter, utter fools. "Thousands of customers", average reviews are 2 out of 5......Please avoid this dealership or at least read all the reviews from all sites, wish I had of.

BUY AT YOUR OWN PERIL
I purchased a Vauxhall Insignia from these cowboys last week via distance sale, the car was advertised as great condition. They delivered the car to me last week and within an hour I had emailed them photos of smashed door cards only to be told that that was common damage, they did reluctantly agree to send me new door cards after initially refusing. I then found further undisclosed damage to the body work and the paint was all flaking off the rear Alloys so I started a complaint with the finance company.
Over the weekend the EML came on and the brakes were squeaky so I took it to Kwik Fit to be checked and have a diagnostic, they told me the car had a faulty NOX sensor, the front discs were perished (but had new pads, work that one out), and the rear wheel bearing had play, rang the dealer from the garage and he said that Kwik Fit were incompetent and that there was nothing wrong with the car and he would not pay for any repairs. The dealer told Kwik Fit to delete the sensor so that the error code wouldn't come up again, which the garage obviously refused to do. The dealer then denied saying this to the finance company, luckily all of my phone calls are recorded.
So a couple of days later I took the car to a local reputable independent garage who checked over the car, and again ran a diagnostic and said the same thing, the front discs are perished and there is a faulty NOX sensor (£1000 worth of work). The dealer then offered to collect the car, leave me a hire car, look at the parts that had been reported as faulty, and then return the car to me. Who would trust a dealer to complete repairs who has already had a false MOT put on the car, denied that anything is wrong with the car and told a garage to delete a sensor? Furthermore, driving long distance on perished front discs would cause further damage to the vehicle. So I declined.
I relayed this information back to the finance company who agreed I could reject the car under the 30 day fault part of the consumer act 2015, but the dealer wanted to keep the delivery fee (£250) and charge me £1 a mile for every mile I've driven in the car and for me to return it to the dealership over 200 miles away (with faulty brakes?!). This is totally illegal. Luckily I know my rights and won't be gaslighted or bullied in to accepting any cost due to being sold a faulty car. The dealer has now accepted he can't charge me the £1 a mile and has to return the delivery fee, but still wants me to return the vehicle at my cost. So it will be sat on my drive for the next 8 weeks (maybe longer) until the dealer and the finance company accept their legal obligation to collect the car and give me a full refund.
I've owned a lot of cars bought from a lot of different garages and I have NEVER had such a terrible experience. The dealer has no customer care at all, once they've got your money that's it, and they seem to either be incompetent when it comes to motor law, or they are bullies who think it's OK to sell dodgey cars.
The car had a fresh MOT so that garage has been reported to VOSA, and Carscene has been reported to Trading Standards, Autotrader, and anyone else who I can find that accepts complaints about dodgey businesses.
In response to Carscenes reply everything I have claimed can be evidenced through emails and vehicle reports sent by 2 garages, i do not use the garage the dealer requested me to use as they damaged a family members vehicle. Hopefully potential customers can see for themselves the type of gaslighting and bullying tactics this garage uses when you report a genuine faulty vehicle. My review with pictures can be found on Google.

I have now had my citreon picasso two months now that I bought from Carscene, I cant express enough the kindness and honesty of Gareth the salesman and Kevin the Bossman. I bought my car 300 miles away in Scotland using autotrader and other methods to check Histories and such on the internet. the car looked good on photo and past history was excellent the rest was trust and fingers crossed as I like to see cars viewings personally, however being so far away ruled that out, No worries there, when the car did arrive I was over the moon with condition inside and outside, a couple of the alloy wheels were badly marked but as I can touch up wheels my self were easily made look better and I managed to buy a matching wheel and new tyre on ebay. I had a Holliday touring Yorkshire in July and put a fair mileage on the car with no Hiccups and can safely say I have got a great deal from Carscene and would certainly recommend them and their staff, as not only was I pleased with the car I `ve got to say a big thanks for car being delivered with wine and chocs and also with a full tank of Diesel, and if that was not enough they did a full mot in June although on my day of buying the Mot was dated april. A big Thanks To all at Carscene from David in Dalkeith
Worst Customer Service I’ve Experienced
Wanted to buy a car and was recommended to this company. They were rude from the start and honestly the most unhelpful and rude company I have ever spoken to.
They obviously have a lot of people buying cars so the customer care isn’t necessary in their eyes.
Regularly buy cars but due to furlough during lockdown and a divorce had a cheap run around so went to buy a decent car as have a very good job but was interrogated on whether was paying cash or finance which shouldn’t he an issue if I have the funds which I assured I have. I just wanted to decide what car I was having as wanted something different.
Because I wasn’t willing to part with too many details until I was 100% sure I wanted the vehicle I was banned from viewing the two vehicles and was spoke to like I’m an idiot. I may look young and immature but I’m not and I buy a lot of high end cars as like to change what I drive and they have just lost a potentially good customer who also would have recommended on.
Now I would suggest avoiding like the plague as they are rude pushy arrogant and there are other firms in Norwich who are exceptional.
This is now the second bad experience as my friends car was faulty and had to fight to get it sorted but as was recommended to me and had the car I was interested in I gave it a go.
If you want to make sure a car is for you then don’t visit this company - it’s too much a waste of their time unless they know you are buying a car before you look! Far too pushy rude and arrogant please try other car sales that put customer care first guys
NB: I have seen the reply from the garage and I feel there are a lot of excuses made there.
End of the day it was disgusting service and there is no excuse for the behaviour.
I explained I wanted to look at both models as I loved the more expensive one but as I work in finance I want to justify the extra cost so wanted to compare the two to see which I preferred and if the extra outlay was worth it. It’s not a question of whether I can afford it it’s a question of whether I like it or if it’s value for money. It was down to which model I loved more basically. Again you assumed if someone wants to look at a £4000 and £8000 car they have issues? You even told me that’s odd when it’s clearly not.
If someone wants to purchase the car they shouldn’t have to give so much personal information or have to discuss their personal financial details - I confirmed I had the finances or means available but because I wasn’t willing to see if I am available for finance just in case the attitude changed.
It was very much bullying tactics to a female that looks young and inexperienced but looks are deceiving and I want to have a good customer service when I am purchasing a car.
I suggest you stop judging a book by its cover and don’t force people to give up their personal information unnecessarily as data protection laws are very rigid these days and it’s not necessary to have the information you require until someone decides 100% on a purchase.
I have now found a sales place who will find me the car I want at the right price who cannot be more helpful so I will be giving them the praise they deserve as it’s been a delight chatting to them today and the difference in service is amazing.
Your comments on communication are also more to do with your own company behaviour not the customers and yes you got a call as my friend assured me that you were an okay company to deal with and then I got these issues.
Again my review is if you want a decent place to buy a car and want to be treated fairly no matter who you are do not please use this place

Exemplary service. Superb car.
I urgently needed to change my car during the pandemic owing to the clutch starting to go on my Skoda Fabia with 170,000 on the clock. I wanted another Skoda Fabia diesel and found a suitable, low-mileage model at Carscene through Auto Trader. It even had a tow bar which meant I wouldn't have to spend £400 on installing a new one to take my bike rack. I was worried about buying a vehicle 'blind' as it was impractical to view the car in Norwich when I live in Cornwall and so I had to rely on the honesty of Kevin and Trevor to give me a video and verbal appraisal of the car before I agreed to buy it. During the appraisal, I asked if the cam belt was due or had been done. The car only had 44k on it (the belt should be good for 100k) but it was due on age, so without skipping a beat, Kevin agreed to do it before sending the vehicle down to me. They took my old and rather tatty Fabia in part-exchange and arranged delivery for £300 which I thought was a very reasonable fee for a round trip of over 700 miles, When the car arrived, it was clean inside and out, everything worked as it should and the car drove superbly. An added bonus was that Kevin had had a little extra installed in the boot - a bottle of Rioja and a box of Ferrero Rocher - a lovely little touch. The only minor niggle was a broken seat adjustment lever which was not a biggie as the mechanism still worked. However, I mentioned it to Kevin and again, without skipping a beat, he offered to order one from Skoda and have it sent to me. Having been in business myself for many years, I recognise good customer service when I see it and the service I have received from Carscene has been exemplary, with excellent attention to detail and a nothing-is-too-much-trouble attitude which is becoming increasingly rare. While buying a car long distance could be scary, they did everything possible to make it easy and reassuring. I genuinely cannot recommend them enough.
AVOID
I bought a car from here in September, very nice customer service when buying the car and felt very comfortable. A week after buying the emissions light came on, since then I had to take it back 4 further times. I asked for a refund early in, to which they declined and ended up being a 8 week battle until they finally accepted the car was beyond repair. They were downright rude every time I had an issue and didn’t seem to care about the fact they had sold a rubbish car. Wish I had read reviews before. Yes I got a refund, but was so much hassle that you don’t want when buying a car. So be careful when shopping for a used car, shop around somewhere else and save the hassle.

Friendly and quality service
Purchase took place during Covid-19 pandemic. Such a lovely friendly service received whilst following government guidance at all times. Would definitely recommend carscene.
Fantastic experience at Carscene
I found a Renault Megane Coupe on Carscene's website that I was interested in purchasing at the end of May. Due to Covid 19 it was proving difficult to view a car before making the decision to purchase. I contacted Carscene through auto trader and had a reply almost immediately. I arranged an appointment to view the car with Kevin who put me at ease advising me on their social distancing measures and appointment only viewings. The car was exactly as described and Kevin was knowledgeable on the cars history and provided full service history and documents. Kevin was fair with the price and we negotiated a great deal. I couldn't have asked for a better experience and absolutely love my new car. I would recommend my friends and family to purchase a vehicle from Carscene in the future.
SATISFIED CUSTOMER
Having purchased a vehicle from Carscene about a month ago which I have been totally satisfied with I had a problem arise with the central locking last week. I must say the service I recieved when i returned to them was absolutely first class. A courtesy vehicle was supplied free of charge, the repair authorised and carried out and to my surprise my vehicle was delivered to my door. Well done chaps customer care at its best.
