Where to begin: it was working great for the user, when it was not trying to be something other than it is - a webpage with recipes. Then, it would outwardly appear, an overly monetarily ambitious management took over. And they decided they needed a web app - but on the cheap. Slow, unstable, useless software. And started aggressively pushing it onto the customer. But to that point, it could still be avoided, one could choose to use only web. Now, either they want us to pay money for some mass access of bunch of services that have no connection to this one, and therefore it is unlikely that anyone is really going to use them all, or accept a very suspicious, very long list of tracking cookies. Any decent webpage which uses advertisement or subscription model, offers the possibility to refuse or curb personalised ads. This is business in the style of highway robbers. And nobody sane will volunteer to be robbed. Bye-bye

Not the BBC the private company lost all my saved recipes and with promises of rectifying the mistake they never did so after numerous calls and e mails to them. Also now the search engine in the app doesn’t work very well and you have to close the app down and then reboot it every time you search for a new recipe. Very disappointing I asked for my money back and they have ignored me. I won’t re subscribe.

The word of the year in 2023 was 'Enshitification' which basically means the product has deteriorated and continues on this trajectory unabated. Slowly this site will have a paywall, due to a socialist/communist government, one that unapologetically hates the working, middle, and upper classes.

Despite already making money from advertising, they wanted me to pay or allow cookies - bye bye!!!

There are so many great sites out there with so many great recipes that they can literally ‘do one’

They need to make it simple. I don't trust them. Less is more..

First of all, this is not the BBC. It is a private company that pays to use the name. This company has no customer service. Despite having one one year subscription for the app, they stopped access and want me to take a second subscription. No response from their ‘customer service’ which from my experience does not exist. Avoid this company portraying itself as BBC. They are just after your money.

Would love them to change their recipies up more than once a month or less than once a month as they do now. I used to love looking through them. The July one has been up and it’s nearly the end of August

The app is far too slow better of using tic tok

In the past used the website for accessing many good recipes but now it’s so slow to load it’s impossible to use.

I've been using the app for a while now, but the most frustrating and impractical limitation is the inability to export selected recipes as a grocery list. PLEASE add a grocery list function! How is this not already a feature? Unfortunately, I’ll have to switch to another service because of this.

Why do you charge a subscription now? I loved being able to look up recipes any time of the day for free

Recently signed up for the PAID subscription and it's incredibly slow, plus if you select the 7 day meal plan, be aware not all ingredients are listed in the shopping items. So frustrating and no way to contact anyone. Incredibly sad as this could be awesome

Used to love the app but lately it's so slow and occasionally freezes. Seems to tie in with their collaboration with Lidl. Maybe it's the volume of adverts that's now slowing it down.

Website has become almost unusable due to the volume of adds and popups.

Ordered the BBC Goodfood magazine, and sister magazine, taking up the offer of 5 issues for £5 each magazine. Confirmation of order received and satisfied that I had made the deadline to receive both Christmas editions.
The next correspondence received in spam box was confirmation of direct debit for considerably more money to commence with immediate effect?
Contacted customer service via email which was a complete waste of time even though I had sent screenshots of the confirmed order.
Made phone contact today with customer service and dealt with a very professional and friendly person who, still unable to sort the issue, cancelled both subscriptions.
If I had not checked spam box I would have been charged an unexpected higher amount and I believe is underhanded amounting to a scam.
Be aware of this practise.

I can honestly say that this is the best vanilla ice cream Ive ever had. Its so simple yet so perfect. The texture is thick and creamy, and the ice cream melts slowly in your mouth, creating an experience that feels like pure luxury. The flavor is sweet but not overpowering, allowing the natural vanilla to shine through. Every bite is rich, velvety, and comforting. Ive had it plain, with chocolate chips, and even paired with fresh fruit, and its always a delight. Sometimes, the simplest things in life are the best, and this vanilla ice cream is a perfect example of that. Its an everyday indulgence that never fails to satisfy.

The app is so slow, it reminds me of dial up in the 1990's.
Definitely will not renew unless this improves.
Such a disappointment as I have been a fan of bbc good food recipes for many years and love them. The app lets the whole thing down.
