Packaging issues for 1st cake but replacement cake sent
The first cake came and had clearly been dropped or inverted during delivery. Thank goodness I'd ordered 3 days in advance of the big birthday celebration. The only way to contact is email. I emailed and waited. A person did call me to say they were going to redeliver. The cake came the day before the party. Thankfully this time it was fine. However, the packaging isn't sturdy enough. I've ordered from a few cake companies and Bakerdays packaging is woefully inadequate. The outer big box and inner little boxes are good. Inside the actual box the cake comes in, there is only thin cardboard which allows the cake to move easily. This is a design flaw and must be rectified if cakes are going to survive transit across the country. The cake itself was nice. Many people commented on it. Transit needs to be looked at, so do think about how far the cake must travel if you are ordering.

Icing commercial and unpleasant. Cake itself ok. I was also sent three and charged for them gavingbordered one. 3 companies involved? Too commercial all round. Threw one away.
Nobody liked the texture and taste if the icing. Pretty though!

The order went missing and was sent the next day, luckily I ordered the cake a day be for the birthday. After checking It was found and had been sent back to depot. When the cake arrived the next day the box had been damaged. I had paid for extra for the delivery day and didn’t get it refunded.The only up side was the when I phone bakerday they were good and found the missing order but told me that it resent that day but I had to wait till next day.

Absolutely disgusted!
When you order a special birthday cake for a special birthday from Baker days, with a balloon and they send a completely different balloon, a cake with no packaging so it’s damaged and to top it off. Their delivery company dump it at the post office Friday an hour before it closes! It was ordered to my address. If it hadn’t of been for a wonderful young lady from the Shop the post office is in bringing it over to me. It would have been there all weekend. Also £12.99 for what was not much bigger than a cup cake! And £12.99 for a balloon plus postage! Not exactly cheap and they offer you 50% refund!! Disgusting!!
Could have got a large cake from Morrisons for £15 and a balloon for £3.50 and delivered free 😏 Their cakes are a lot smaller than I’ve previously bought but cost more! They also used to comes in a tin and well packaged. Cut costs but charge more! This was my sisters 70th birthday which was totally ruined and they offer 50% refund as they say a good will gesture! Seriously!! AVOID!!
They have asked me to consider changing my review but until the full refund is in my bank it will stay as it is. I would like to however say I had to haggle for a refund and I notice they are sorry about the bad experiences people have had but sorry doesn’t mean nothing. It’s simple to say sorry but looking at reviews it keeps happening! Also after a promise of a refund which can take 5/7 days. 10 days, no refund, no information on what’s happening and I paid by PayPal so they can refund in seconds! Taking this up with PayPal if payment isn’t received today! Had to get PayPal to intervene to finally get a refund. So don’t believe they offered me a refund straight away. They didn’t. DO NOT TRUST THEM!!

I appreciate that this was for your sister's 70th birthday, and I'm very sorry that we let you down on such an important occasion.
Following our further review, we've already offered you a full refund, and this has been passed to our Accounts Team for processing. We genuinely want to put things right for you, and we're on your side in trying to resolve this as fairly as possible.
We've also raised the delivery issues with our courier so they can be fully investigated, as the service you received is not the standard we expect for our customers.
Once again, we're sincerely sorry for the disappointment caused and appreciate you bringing this to our attention.
Unprofessional from start to finish!
I have used Bakerdays for many years and the cakes have been amazing and customer care communication first class. However this time I ordered a 1st birthday cake and from start to finish the whole process was a shambles from emails not being answered, being told an email had been sent, when in fact, I hadn't even received it, being hung up on the telephone and when eventually I got to speak to someone they were extremely unprofessional and the line so bad I don't think the agent was in this country. The colour quality of the cake was very poor but thankfully the cake tasted nice. I will NEVER use this company again they have definitely gone down hill. Such a shame.

Ordered cake for Father’s Day, paid for it; (was to be delivered20th), never received. Got no response to phone calls or any e-mails. Disgusted as first order.
Nice of you to come back to myself, but cake was for Father's Day; which has now passed. Therefore I would prefer a refund if possible. I have tried phoning and e-mailing in the past to no avail. Only sorted through Trustpilot. Therefore I feel it a waste of time trying to contact, just hope a refund can be forwarded to myself.

To be completely transparent, we recently experienced issues with our courier's driver collection process, where some parcels were unfortunately not scanned upon collection. This resulted in some orders being delayed or, in some cases, lost within the courier network. Whilst this explains what happened, we fully appreciate that it doesn't make up for the disappointment caused.
We're currently reviewing these issues with the courier and are also introducing a new courier partner to help prevent this from happening again in the future.

Don’t ruin your event and buy a cake from here. You are better off buying a cake from Waitrose or M&S and purchasing some accessories and decorating it yourself. I ordered a medium cake for 10 people and the size and price of the cake were ridiculous. The cake just about fit the size of my hand, no way it could serve 10 people. I was duped and lost a significant amount of money. Bakerdays did not acknowledge this when I tried to resolve it with them. I gave 1 star just so I can write this review as they just appeared in my search again for a cake and I am just disgusted seeing their name again. I would like to share photos of my order and my invoice but not possible on here.

Cake arrived damaged
Cake arrived damaged, unable to offer a replacement in time so I have asked for a refund, was told she would speak to someone else to receive an email offering another cake for another occasion and no refund offered. They're now ignoring my emails. Will continue to pursue. I do not recommend this company, the cake itself was also very small/flat to have fed 40people.

We would also like to reassure you that we have never intended to ignore your emails. After investigating, we discovered that a response sent by one of our colleagues was unfortunately not successfully delivered as attached from our recent response. We appreciate that from your perspective it appeared that we simply weren't responding, and we are very sorry for the confusion and frustration this caused.
We fully acknowledge your concerns regarding the condition of the cake on arrival. As soon as we were made aware of the issue, we offered either a replacement cake or a complimentary cake for another occasion, valid for 12 months, in the hope of restoring your confidence in us and giving us the opportunity to provide the experience you originally expected.
However, we completely understand and respect that neither of these options was suitable for you given the circumstances. With this in mind, we have arranged for your refund request to be passed to our Accounts Team for processing.

Had to buy a replacement cake at short notice
I received the birthday cake for my son today, and unfortunately it arrived sideways in the box. As a result, the icing had slid to the side and the edges were smashed.
I also want to mention that although I ordered a small cake, it was not even 2cm tall, which was very disappointing.
Because of the condition it arrived in, I was too embarrassed to give it to my son and had to rush out to buy another cake at short notice.
